You should of had drive it your own on the truck, because he had no ide what he was doing lol but then again if you would of had done smth wrong you would regret it!
Just saw your new upload of getting this car back. Had to go back intime lol to find the original videos of this. What a blessing to see where you are today and never forget where you started. God bless Freddy..
KoG GoK garbage? Ow where did you get this misinformation from? They are amazing cars if taken care of i own two vr4’s one has 340k miles and still runs strong
Clutches are different even in the same car depending on wear, etc. It takes more than 10 feet to get the feel for one you've never used before. Especially when your trying to be careful and not launch the thing into the back of a trailer. I would almost guarantee that truck is a manual. Still pretty funny though.
Have you driven one? Most people can't even put it in reverse or push in the clutch. I remember after using it for a year, I jumped into my other car and it felt like I was going to put my foot threw the firewall when pushing in a normal clutch.
@@tonebebop7656 I got used to mine pretty quick and it's my first manual vehicle. I also don't drive it too often. I will say, on mine at least, the clutch has a lot of travel before it actually bites. Like pretty much to the floor. Might need adjustment.
You've motivated me to start my own RU-vid dedicated to owning and daily driving a 2006 Mercedes cl500. All the good and bad just like these old tavarish vids.
No they didn't. Here is an example and this was the GTO MR which was an even higher performance model we didn't get. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0YbUH641bLw.html
Yep, as soon as that RX7 passed the first car I knew it would at least get 2nd place. The 7 was just way lighter and that made the difference. If the track had 2 more tight turns, he could of won.
This made me cry! Especially after I read some comments and realized that it was resold shortly after...heartbreaking! Opportunity cost eh? Sorry for your loss there, it must have been hard on the old heartstrings...
Sold this car to renovate his house... probably doesn't even need renovations just cosmetic... let ur house look shitty for a couple years and keep the car Bruh
Eclipses, talons and lasers had the aux ports too. its was a mitsu thing back in the day. But I will say if you truly loved the car, you'd have driven it more then just a handful of times.
Have to say, those last-call VR4s are EXCEEDINGLY rare. I've maybe only ever seen one or two, in a top 5 big US city no less. I've never liked that particular wing, but the rest of the car was the best-looking version of that ride. Never pined for a 3000GT VR4 myself, but I have to appreciate how well you maintained it.
I know that pain, the pain of letting your dream car go. I remember the first time I first clapped eyes on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV, I knew I had to own one day. The car in my profile picture is the Evo I owned for 6 glorious years, I miss it every day. I still drive a Lancer, but it's a Diesel & it'll do 48 mpg.....not 22, on super unleaded.
tavarish i started watching your lamborghini videos, and the fact that you had a vr4 makes me like this channel even more. Coming from a fellow 3000gt owner
Man, this brought back some bittersweet memories for me. Last summer I sold my 1991 Mustang GT that I brought back from the dead after 8 years of ownership...only to sell it on Craigslist in one day. Same situation, needed money for a deposit on a house.
$5,000-10000 perhaps? In some markets that's enough for a down payment on a pretty decent house. We put $5000 down on ours, and it was around $165,000 for a 3BR 2BA ranch on an acre that needed nothing.
This car is for sale again on autotrader lol. Whoever buys it next will be the THIRD owner since Tavarish had it which it hasn't even been a year yet since he sold it. You think with a car this rare someone would treat it like their wife and hold onto it, instead of passing it around like a $2 stripper from owner to owner lol.
weaselgamer50 are you sure it's not the same dude trying to sell it? It was listed on eBay first and shown as sold however it was then relisted by the same owner and that listing went unsold. I'm assuming the first one was won by a non paying bidder. In the description the guy claimed to have only put 600 miles on it over the year of ownership and can't drive it due to a knee injury.
This was my dream car for the longest time. This exact model with that wing, too. I think the only cars I like more, even after all these years, are the Jaguar F-Type SVR and the Aston Martin DB11, and some models of the Aston Martin Vanquish (I'm a big Aston Martin fan). But this car is a beauty. Still love it. Was my favorite car to drive in Gran Turismo 2 for PlayStation all those years ago, LOL. Good times.
God that stalling reminds me of when I was learning stick. It was in a 99 Miata, and I swear I would stall it like 3-5 times in a row at the very beginning.
Absolutely adore this car, this model has to be my favorite JDM car by far! Great video, seemed like you was really attached to the car and I'd be the same way! Also that truck driver clearly doesn't like that clutch :P
I was 18 when I bought my Mitsubishi GTO/3000GT VR4 the previous owner was about 65 and his wife told him to sell it so I got it for very cheap 7,500NZD I've owned it for a year have not had a single problem with. People which want this car is a dream car can get it at a young age if you look hard enough and long enough
did he say its like a mini GTR -_-??? I prefer the gto/3000gt platform over the gtr any day, one of the most beautiful cars to ever leave japan, a real head turner...
@@fmt_piggy I know I'm happy for him. It's one of my dream cars too. When it was on eBay if I had the money and means at the time I would have bought it in a heart beat. That person got a killer deal. Although if it was in my possession he'd have to pay me a lot more than it's worth for me to let go of it
.....i really feel your pain. I had to let go of my Alpina e30 BMW - but at least your going places etc, mine got left to rot when I was a taxi driver and when I fecked that up I had to scrap her... so many memories, we got married, conceived, cruised up to 300k on her.... I'm left with photos and memories.... maybe one day when I get back on my feet when I probably hit middle age we will get our dream car - a mitsi gto!! OK so at present I'm on a 3 year ban with 9 months to go, you said God closes a good and opens another one - since starting my RU-vid channel I've landed a tv deal (in paid but hopefully will open some doors) with like minded paranormal researchers - we just finished shooting our first episode for roku tv.... mitsi gto... so beautiful.
WOW! I seem to have found a comment section on youtube where nobody seems to realize that this isn't the older crappier 1991 VR4, considering it says 1999 in the title. Everyone also seems to think that he said that he sold it for 25K, when in fact, he never said anything about how much he sold it for.
The Auxiliary input jack has my heart racing!! Nice candy bro...mine was a black beaut'...I gotta get me a new one now...I'm getting old so I gotta get young for a bit & spend some dinero..
Freddy that vr4, while not on par with other Japanese supercars of the era, is some holy grail shit! A 1999 vr4 is rare no to mention best looking of the car. I certainly hope this house is nice!!!!
lol not on par? this car beat out the supra in motor-trend's testing. its much better looking than the ass front end of a 300ZX. bigger engine than the 2.5L GTR, etc... and much more attainable. I can go on and on.
0:58 “...a house takes precedence over a car....” WHAT!?! Really !?! No, No, Never! 🤣 j/k Loved ❤️ those cars! Had its “sister” car back in the day... Dodge Stealth R/T (Manual, TT, AWD, AWS); out of 40+ vehicles I’ve owned, that was one I wish I still had 😢
I have an SL aswell, it was given to me by my uncle, sat in a garage for 3 years, needs new oil change, brakes and tires. I will use it to get a job and save up for a 95 VR-4, either I will sell the SL, or keep it and let it gather more dust.
You are a " glutton " for punishment . Remember , they build cars to be driven on the street . Why would you choose to invest so much emotion in something that you are going to expose to the hazards of the road . A wise man once told me " do not become emotionally involved with inanimate objects " the advice has served me well .
dammit man i just found out u had this car today and now i'm finding out u got rid of it. it looks sooo good when i compare before/after. i wanna take note of everything u did to this car taht started out really shitty.
Came across this just now. Man, what a beautiful car. I'd have fought tooth and nail to keep it if thrust into that situation - even if I had to have 1/4 less house! LOL,WTH. I get into it with the wife each time I talk about getting another one (or she gripes for me to get rid of even just one!) I can only imagine what it's like to get rid of such a rare beauty. I'm sorry to say this, my Evo kin - but THIS is the true Mitsubishi halo car that, sadly, died too young on the vine. The Evo is something else entirely, and I don't think anyone would question that.
the dude who bought it resold it? wtf i thought it was his dream car. i have a 95 vr4 and the only thing i would sell it for is a 99. i can feel his pain
Wyatt Neff yep, as soon as it got dropped off it was on ebay using Tavarish's pictures. Sold for 19k. www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-3000GT-VR4-/112050456038
When you guys in the states get your 25 year limit removed from importing JDM cars, you'll realize that these VR4s, JZA80s and BNR32s etc are like civics over in Japan, they go for dirt cheap over there. The domestic versions become nothing special once you see the RHD cars flood the local market. The USDM value of stuff with a shared chassis over here drops overnight like MKIV Supras, 3000gts, Z32TTs, you can get one of these RHD JDM versions landed here for anywhere between $5k and $15k CDN depending on auction grade, mileage and mods. It's inevitable you'll all get the flood of JDM cars like we did here in Canada in the early 2ks. It's a good thing he sold this Mitsu before that phase comes.
SOLOIIguru I know this is months old, but it's actually pronounced like "Tane" even though it is derived from TEchnical INnovation. In Japanese (Romaji) the E makes an "eh" sound and I makes an "ee" sound, and when said together it comes out as "Tane." Even their English commercials pronounce it this way. That said I've never heard anyone say it properly to this day, and I still say Tee-In for my S-Techs since everyone thinks you're a sped when you pronounce it correctly. XD
You are so right, especially in that condition. Most of them are in bad to very poor condition, wrecked by young kids, mostly. Mint condition cars are very hard to come by. I got very lucky when I got my 1997 VR4 last year and it will never be sold. Well at least not as long as I live.
I been thinking on selling mine.. But who knows. These might go up in price soon. You ever use 4th gear? I wish I could see what 6th gear is like. When I got mine the previous owner was like wow you can drive it normal. These cars are something else. Also was getting my transmission fluid changed once and I asked to drive it in.. they said no because of insurance reasons, after 20 min of not being able to drive it they said I could.
