I am so so sorry. I'm sitting in my barn watching this in front of my Giselle's stall who I had to make the same decision for sobbing for you and my girl. When Beverly brayed at the end, my 3 donkeys, who were eating their hay in Giselle's stall, brayed so loud to tell Beverly she would be ok. I wish I would have recorded it. It was so beautiful. Jami I began to cry from the moment you sang Country Roads and by the time Beverly said her final goodbye I was full on bawling. You were the best mom to Dixie and Beverly was the best friend. You gave her her best life and a dignified trip over the Rainbow bridge. Me too even worse broke me :( i lost my support kitty who was with me and only her with the cancer even left me she didn't and she got cancer and i failed her because im on disabilty from rhe cancer and couldn't help her and it broke me been since Jan. So this is so raw and poor Beverly loved her girl.

Me too. I was teary eyed, but when Beverly brayed like that, I lost it. My sister’s vet told her when it was time to put her old dog down, to bring her other dog with her to be there when he passed. She did and it helped Libby understand why her brother was not coming back home. I think Bev understood exactly what she was seeing and she cried.
She was ready... she looked so tired. Still hard to have to make that decision. Poor Beverly... she is gonna miss her friend. We will all miss Dixie, but she is now pain free and able to run with the wind in her hair. ❤❤❤

Bev's little cry at the end broke me. It is a struggle to make this choice, the choice between what is right and what is selfish. Allowing our fur/feathered/scaly/other friends to leave a life of debilitating pain peacefully, while surrounded by those who love and cherish them, is a blessing.

Can hardly type through the tears! Such a beautiful video, especially the footage of her running so carefree about the pasture of LHL's! She is running extra carefree today about the rich green grass pastures of Heaven and Uncle Raleigh has greeted her with open arms at the rainbow bridge! She'll be waiting there for you, Jami and Lester, and for Bev, Voodoo, and all of her ISS and LHL friends. I picture her and Journey running so carefree, without pain or limps to their gates! She is free and your very hard decision to let her go was the right one, despite how very hard it was to make. You are so courageous and loving, Jami! You loved her fiercely and with so much compassion along her life's journey! She knew how very much she was loved and treasured. Lester taking off his hat to honor and pay his respect was beautiful. Bev's bray at the end was such a different one and so heart wrenching the gutted sounds that she made. I pray that Bev will be okay and that you and Lester will be as well. Time will heal you although the pain never fully goes away. Grief is the price of love, but, I know you wouldn't have missed loving your sweet girl for nothing! I will forever see Dixie gracefully running in the Bigs pasture, her pasture, happy, healthy and free. This is where I would love to see her buried. Bev’s call and tears at the end really got me! I went from 😢 to 😭😭😭😭 instantly. Unfortunately, it seems as though the animals who have seen the worst of the worst make the best companions and caregivers when they find their person! Our 13 year old pitbull is at the end of her time with us, but in her prime she was my sidekick who acted as my service dog despite being rescued and not being trained to be a service dog. She would lay with me and alert my mom any time my iv pump or feeding pump would make a noise and stand by my side during central line dressing changes and made sure I was okay. It is truly amazing how animals who see horrendous things in their lives have the ability to forgive humans who have wronged them or overcome the trauma they’ve encountered while helping their humans overcome the trauma they’ve endured. I commend you for your selflessness as we are still struggling to come to terms with what will be in our future as we begin to have to face saying see you later to our incredible pitbull who truly has been a once in a lifetime dog despite her now doggy dementia. But she had some awesome friends, you,Jaime and Beverly and Lester to be by her side during the toughest times at the end of her beautiful life! Beverly was so sad but yet you could tell that she was relieved for Dixie to be at peace now! She made me cry at the end because of all the emotion in that donkey bray she did! Petting her face and forelock reminds me of petting my 3 little daughters’ faces and they feel so content their eyes just can’t stay open in comfort. Such a sweet tired old baby. 😢
