Thanks for stopping by! Crazy to think that it was just a few years ago when I bought this car from the auction. I held onto this car for so long because I genuinely enjoy it. I'm under no pressure to sell it, but I will plan to start slowly putting it out there. I think it will give me some room to be able to find another project to rebuild and make more content. Wish it didn't have to be this way, but this is just life. 🤷♂ 🗣 Join our discord for more: discord.gg/WvjvHxYnwq 👕 Merch: my-store-d4267d.creator-spring.com/ ✌
Man I remember seeing your video when you first got this thing. A spec.B has always been my dream car but I recently just got a one owner 2005 Forester XT and honestly couldn’t be happier
I had a AUDM "Liberty" Legacy GT years ago. Had the EJ20X from factory, it was a awesome revvy thing! The twin scroll was awesome compared to my blobeye WRX (which had a single scroll). It had all the tastefully clapped factory options like rattling heatshields! My local Subaru specialist tried a few times to weld it and stop it, but never could. I see that car in my morning commute, glad to see it still rolling after 5 years!
The twin scrolls are wild even straight out the box. Just the compatibility in the downpipes can be discouraging since they aren’t really available here in the states without full fabrication. Not the tastefully clapped heat shields 💀 that cracked me up
this seems like such a special, awesome car that you did a great job working on, but I understand you have a lot of cars and more videos to make though so you can't keep em all. really hope this goes to someone who will give it all the love and care it deserves
wish I had the money for this. damnit. spec b is on my bucket list. I'm in tacoma too...oh well. I do have a legacy just an anemic one from 2013. no turbo or larger 6 cylinder...found the ad on marketplace. hope it goes to a great home.
Great video, always enjoy your content. Sweet ride. Young kids in my neighborhood (Philly) would love that cat-less sound. How is Ray's learning to drive stick going? You should have made a video to help learners. I taught myself. I bought a stick shift and learned from there. It is just getting 0 MPH to shifting into second that is the hardest. Instead of stalling, I opted for squealing tires until I got the hang of it.
@@bendaga I just remembered another "learning to drive stick" story. A friend of mine came back from first year of college in Oregon and his parents bought him a car before he came back. It was stick shift and they figured he could learn the hard way. He had a bad moment of stalling out at an intersection while trying to make a left turn. Then the horns began (central New Jersey, no patience), he then flooded it, couldn't get it to start, and had to have people help him push it to safety until he could get it started. He was so mad at his parents. But in no time he was fine.
Dude you are SO underrated this is the best content I’ve ever seen sincerely it’s amazing. I love all of this the chill music, and the fact you can give me a lesson and keep me fully engaged. Keep it up❤
Regret, yes. I had my 3.0 R Spec B for 12 years, 250,000 km, and three head gaskets. I had to let it go, but loved every second of owning it. Australia… wide open spaces, decent roads. 😢
Ey man i want u to take that back with the corolla stuff u said. They maybe boring but incredibly reliable. I accidentally drove mine without oil for 50 km and it didn't break. Try that with ur subaru! I bet its gonna last not even a kilometer. But otherwise great video ❤ keep it rolling😊
I just love all the thought that you put into your decision with this car. Are you gonna put it on a website and look for the right person from there? Or are you just waiting for the right person to come along? Anyways, love the content man keep it up
Haven’t put too much thought into it. Will probably just throw it on marketplace and see if the right person comes along. I’m under the no pressure so 🤷🏽♂️ But I really appreciate the kind words man 🙌🏽💯
I was in the market for a Spec B about 5 years ago. I just couldn't find the right one to buy! They were all either modified, beaten on, salvaged, high mileage or too expensive.
Subaru legit made no Spec B's. Very rare Subaru and much more rare than the STi's of the time. You will regret selling it. I know because i worked at a local dealer around those times and we sold from 06-09 Spec B exactly 8. They sold very poor due to them costing the same or more than an STi... You would have better luck finding a Tribeca! Remember that pile lol.
As someone who owns a 05 lgt wagon 5mt i think the swap to the ej20x was probably not the right choice. Not saying it was the wrong choice as ive seen plenty of people who have when their motors go because its the cheapest route and say it's fine but the issue is that its cheap up front but they don't do the swap correctly. The usdm ej255 is a single avcs motor while the ej20x is a dual avcs. While the ej20x will work and run just fine without connecting the 2nd avcs you don't get the full potential of the engine. Not sure what you did ecu wise but you need the jdm harness as well since the usdm don't have the ability to run the dual avcs. This is just what ive seen and read around so im not 100% sure what is involved in the swap and getting the engine to work correctly tho. My hope is that youve done it correctly but if not the next owner is gonna be confused as to why there are plugs not plugged in from the engine lol
Plz don’t do it it’s a dream car of mine I have a Black version of it the 2004 3.0R sedan but with beige Interieur it’s a dream car the navigation it was the same it almost has 300.000 Kilomoters plz don’t sell it it’s a dreamcar ❤ my Subaru legacy 3.0r has the EZ30 engine you could give me some info if it’s reliable 😂❤
I had a standard JDM twinscroll and it was kind of slow tbh, of course faster than most cars on the road but compared to an Impreza sti it was a bit of a slug. i do miss it though. It was very low mileage when I owned it and apart from the lambda sensor issue i never had a problem with the car at all and it was very tight and well put together
I have the same exact car 181/500 but I'm having a misfire in cylinder 2(p0302). I changed spark plugs, coil pack, air filter and fuel injector but still has the misfire. It idles rough and stutters slightly at low rpm other than that it rides very smooth when cruising can anyone help me please? (Hoping I don't have to rebuild) Thank you!
The North American Sped B had a 5 speed manual for the 2006 model year. From 2007 and on, Subaru fitted the Spec B with a slightly modified STI 6 speed manual which was much more durable.
Don’t worry I am giving my Lgt the life many don’t get. No longer will it be a day to day work horse, I am in the process of making it a full blown rally car so I can slam it into a tree in the name of pavement princess legacy’s everywhere
