I managed to play this morning before work got crazy. I’m so sad that it’s gone but I will never forget the memories I’ve made. I’ve played Halo 3 since I was 15-16 with my old account. Now 25. Wasn’t the best player. But still kicked ass. If you saw Nintendo64boi that was me. Crazy how time flies and I was happy to be back online one last time. Halo 3… thank you…. We will never forget you. Halo reach…you did me well too.. but Halo 3 will always have a special place in my heart 2007-2022

Man I remember getting my first 50 in lone wolves. Playing with my best friend everyday and night over summer vacation. Walking to 7/11 late at night to get honey buns and energy drinks and junk food. Fuck now I work full time and have a wife and a house. Not that I don’t love those things too but it was just such a simpler time. Halo 3 made me forget about any and all problems and transported me into a different world. Asbestosmoth was my gamer tag

I started my Xbox Live journey on Rainbow Six: Vegas and by some miracle, I met a Halo fanboy in one of my lobbies who pursuaded me to play Halo 3. 14 years and 25,000 Halo 3 games later, I can't thank that random dude enough for showing me such a frustrating yet amazingly fun and addicting game. I was so fortunate to get on for one last game before the servers shut down, fittingly it was a game on Snowbound which was my very first game of Halo 3 in Basic Training, this time a very different outcome. RIP Halo 3, Halo 3 MCC just isn't the same.

Shout out to every single one of you who was there until the bitter end of the OG server sunset. That was some of the best Halo I’ve ever played. No gaming experience will ever come close to this era of Xbox 360 Halo. This was more than a game - it was something you grew up with. This shared experience is ours forever

I will forever thank my childhood friend for showing me this franchise. I was a ps2 boii growing up. Started as playing splitscreen on halo 2 and CE with my bro. I will never forget when he asked if i wanted to play it and i responded "what the fuck is a halo?". I was in awe when i saw my first elite. I was shook. We were up all night going crazy on multiplayer and the campaign. Then i got halo 3 in 2008 for christmas along with a 360. Havent looked back and have got hooked on the franchise. This game has brought endless nostalgia and memories. From the endless grinds to the game nights on LAN parties with the squad. Tower of Pizza boxes, goodies from the gas station down the street, and rockstar and monster to keep us going. RIP the servers 2007-2022

I was never able to afford a 360 back in Halo 3's heyday, but I always lived vicariously through communities, fan fiction, RU-vid clips and machinima. Hurts to see it go as I remember OG Rooster Teeth, Arby n the Chief, and all the dumb fan fics I used to write and read.

Started halo 3 at 13 years old, i remember getting my first level 50 playlist, ODST unlocking recon, hitting that 5000EXP marker. 26 years old now got to play a few months ago. Damn RIP H3!

halo 2 was the first game i’ve ever played, I played all the other ones on the 360. it is sad that its all going away, the xbox 360 was my childhood. Its been fun, heres to new memories!

My dad got me the OG xbox when it came out, and Halo as well. Ive been with Halo since the beginning, and come hell or high water, Halo will be there in the end.

I wish I was old enough to be able to experience the Halo community in its prime. Was only like 4 when Halo 3 came out, looked like it was so much fun. At least MCC is around to give people like me the ability to experience it in some way.

Bro it was a sad day that day but I had my best memories playing halo 3 and I did met almost all my friends there so it hit hard when it went off. Hope someday we can live in the past just for one day so we can relive the feeling we got going online lol will meet again Spartans

These games were amazing and for some people loosing them is like loosing a family member. I am fortunate to have grown up with a collection of games but for some people these games could have been all they had and now they won’t be able to return to it.

Damn this makes me sad. I loved halo 3 I played it so much with my friend on split screen I was a 3 star general before I even owned my own Xbox and copy of Halo 3. It has its own place in history and nothing will ever change that.

No doubt the map was brighter then normal in those final moments, it maybe gone but it damn sure will not be forgotten.

I started playing halo reach when i was 9, then my paremts took my xbox 360 away for 4 years, and couple of days ago i got my xbox 360 back in my hands, and realized that i missed the funeral of my favorite game... (yea, im pretty young. On july 22 i will be only 15 years old, also srry for my bad english)

I was born in 2006 a year before this game came out I few years later when I was 6 I believe 2012 my brother introduced me to the Xbox 360 I remember halo3 being the first game i ever played I remember trying multiplayer and it was so fun but I was a noob and was 6 years old so I sucked lol but recently last month I downloaded halo 3 and finished the campaign such a beautiful game

halo was the first game i remember getting decent at when i was young.. early gaming at the age of 9-10 years old this game started the love for everything… this game man. this game hold sooo many memories between me and my brother and even some cousins… moving on when i turned 13-14-15-16 i GRINDED halo reach… i will always love halo reach with my 360 controller playing swat… :( i hope all of us never lose that kid in us though with the games we further down the road :,)

I was glad I slapped on Halo 3 last month but unfortunately wasn’t able to jump on a final game the day before the server shut down due to serving in the Army never gonna forget staying up all night with my cousins trying to beat the game on Legendary with three Xbox 360s and throwing in some random gravity hammer and energy sword fights with full speed with my friends everyday during high school

That Last night playing halo 3 360 online was one of the best times playing online. Soo many people weren’t fighting they were just chilling and hanging out its such a awsome game i whent from finishing my final achievement to teaming up on big team where i was caught teabagging the enemy but istead of killing me they just watched. Then to fall asleep playing it to waking up to realise that the servers were down never to be played again. Im not crying because it ended im crying because it happened and i was part of it.

Games will never be the same again.

Grew up on this game with my cousins! And now I’m 18 this year……. But the campaign is always fun to play! And btw I’m ur 200th sub!

Halo 3 was there at a time in my life that should have been so much worse. If i hadn't made the friends I did through it and been able to experience the thrill of winning a close match, playing a hilarious custom game, or coming up with ridiculous conditions for a public game (like only crouching only plasma pistols, holy shit was that funny) I don't know who I'd be. Lots of love for anyone who feels the same way. I feel so lucky to have been there with you all.

Truly a loss as we young millennials had a time where we could just exist and have fun and live to pull all nighters on Friday nights just trying to increase rank and talk shit and join custom games. A time before most of us have gone through whatever grief struggle and ups and downs that imminent adulthood brought. We now have twice the responsibility of our parents yet ironically make 1/2 as much (if not less) these days. I think this is why it brought tears to many of our eyes seeing H3 shut down. 15 years have flown by and video games just aren’t the same. May the memories live forever. Some may say it’s just a game but #iykyk

sadly i never got to play halo 3 online on the 360 as I wasn't even born when it came out, and our 360 broke in about 2010 and I only have 1 memory of it but I was introduced to halo when mcc came out by my dad who had been playing since the original xbox days, and I really loved it I remember me and my older brother would always play halo 4s campaign because we were scared of the flood XD, and it took us 3 years to build the courage but eventually in 2017 we played halo ce, 2 and 3, and oh my goodness I LOVED THEM 2 years ago my dad bought me mcc on PC and I played reachs campaign for the first time and I also really liked it, and that was also mainly the first time I got to play halo's multiplayer online, because before I only played split screen with my dad and 2 brothers, and halo 5 over xbox live but that was only for 1 year and I only remember playing a couple of online mcc matches during that time, so when I finally got to experience mcc's multiplayer for real I also really liked it and still to this day I love it and I have had so much fun playing it and gotten so many funny clips from it :) sadly my friends don't really like halo mainly because its "old" and I introduced them to it and played some campaigns with them and they said they liked it but tbh i think they just got bored and burnt out, which is kind of sad at least for me because I really wanted to get to halo 3 as that's where everything climaxes and i loved it and I wanted to see them love it as well, and i also really wanted to play multiplayer with them tbh I would start conversations over online gameplay, but I'm only 13 so people would clearly distinguish my young voice and single me out and also my parents are kind of protective lol But i love halo and this franchise to death and it has shaped my childhood very very positively and I'm glad to have been able to share my story with you guys

it is unfortunate that something we all hold dear to our hearts has finally Fallen. but this isn't the time to despair we will mourn for a time and reflect on the memories, we made the friends and enemies, we spent sleepless nights having good matches on a game that seems to never end, the doubles and triple kills the teabagging The overkills and Killing sprees all mean something different to all of you back at the heyday. and now it's time to pass down the torch to the new generation they may not have the same amount of respect all the understanding we had, it is an end to an era and for some the last pillar of their childhood but the most important thing is we had fun for better or worse these memories will never die. You know why there was no excuse for this to have happened? Microsoft is a trillion dollar company, one of the most valuable and powerful in the world. How did they get there? With your tax dollars. Without middle class subsidies, grants, and government contracts. Not to mention, they already make even more money off of you, having already taken your taxes by force, from your data. The data industry is one of the most lucrative today. After those two things, which still isn't enough for them, they want content sitting on your hard drive locked behind a paywall of micro transactions for content that used to be free. We can logically and rationally conclude that with all the money they make, shutting off these servers was not a financial decision. It was likely psychological. That's what the entirety of their products target, the brain. Child psychologists were even hired to work on Halo Infinite, articles were written about the open position back in 2018. They're simply evil. Nothing else to it. They want to steer you only into one direction, and their products from 10 years ago are a detriment to their modern objectives.
