Born to Run by Christopher McDougall changed my life and I can guarantee it will change yours. Go get audible and download that book. Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback @ammarxz on instagram.
Ammar has struggled with discipline and focus for his whole life, so a few months ago he decided to sign-up to a marathon to force himself to train and run everyday. But as the weeks went by, his mental health deteriorated and he failed to train. He almost gave up on the marathon but 3 days before it was happening... Something incredible happened, he changed his mind and decided to chase the impossible.. Run a marathon without having trained.

For me running was the cure for depression. I lost over 60 pounds and I could stop antidepressant medication. On April 7th, I finished my 8th marathon in 3:44:39. Obviously with lots of training, but it's stil f****** hard.. I have read "born to run", it's great. Did you read "The joy of ruining"? It was written by a psychiatrist who explored running as a therapy in the 1970s. As an absolute beginner he took part in a group who ran to improve heart problems. He felt that people seemed to be happier after running. He talked to their spouses who confirmed that observation. This made him think about running as an alternative to antidepressants. This happened during a time when the benefits if running were not widely recognized. He finally tells a heart breaking story about his own first marathon.

During my military duty here in swizerland, if you wanted to rank up to lieutenant, you had to make a 100km walk after one survival week, meaning barely sleeping, eating or resting and a lot of sport (like 40km bicycle, swimming, walking with package). Was certainly the most difficult challenge for me, you just wake up the morning knowing you have 20hours walk in front of you to do... such hard. But you find the strenght inside you and your mates that are with you from the beginning. You walk like a zombie, holding the bag in front of you when you "walk-sleep", and at the end of the 100km, you just feel so accomplished, you think back about everything you sacrified, and it was worth it. I guess you felt the same doing this marathon, very proud of you ammar! Thx for the videos that are really inspirationnal ! Ps. Couldnt walk for 2 days after that ^^

Ammar, that was incredible! I have a close friend training to run the NYC marathon, and this definitely has seeded the thought in my head to find a way to train with him, even having little to no experience running before! I MIGHT just do it, stepping out of the comfort zone’s the goal, right? So I’m definitely considering it.

I know this is a biiiiit late, but this was literally me in the same year. In the fall of 2018 I ran in the Chicago Marathon with almost no training and on a sprained ankle. Every moment you shared brought up memories I will forever hold from that experience. The mental battle is a rough one, but it was very important in my life to this day. YOU GO DUDE!

This video really mean a lot to me. I can't say I've been feeling good for the past year, I've been actually feeling terrible and still do and the fact I'm constantly procrastinating and doing nothing with my life isn't helping. I feel like I don't have strength for anything, I'm not myself anymore and I'm falling deeper and deeper into the depression. I started crying watching this video realizing I can do something with my life and I'm capable of doing it even though most time I believe differently. Thank you so much Ammar and all of you guys from Yes Theory for constantly inspiring us and bringing good into this world. And well done Ammar, proud of you! Lots of love from Croatia❤️

Kuba Kuzmicki thank you for the encouragement, it really means a lot. I actually know what I want from my life but I don't know how to achieve it, and that only leads to me giving up on everything. I hope that will change now, I've made some decisions, now I just need to stick to it. It's hard being 18 and trying to balance everything in your life and deciding what you want from your future when you don't have enough support from your surroundings. So thank you once again for your words kind stranger❤️

I was also suffering severe depression, and I felt doing crazy things like running a marathon without training, will help with that, hands down. I flew out of bed one night and decided to carry my kayak 4km to the nearest river then paddle in the dark all the way to the ocean. I was greeted with a beautiful sunrise. I just kept telling myself around the corner then ill take a breather, okay.. next curve, next bend, and kept going till I reached the end. I couldn't feel happier, little things like this, cost nothing, and anybody can go out and challenge themselves in whatever. You have the power to heal your self. Amazing video @YesTheory and Ammar you killed it 👍
