Mapa is always sang in Philippines' graduations, and played on radios every mother & father's day... this song is very special, especially here in ph, filipinos are family oriented.
MAPA, composed by their leader Pablo. In Tagalog, MAPA usually refers to a MAP, but Pablo sees it as a tribute to our parents who guide us through life's journey, akin to a MAP guiding travel. Additionally, MAPA holds familial significance, representing both "MAma" (mother) and "PApa" (father). Breaking it down further, "MA" symbolizes "MAta" (eyes), and "PA" signifies "PAa" (feet) in Tagalog, adding layers of meaning to this creative linguistic play. The song "MAPA" serves as a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering support and love of the artists' parents. It conveys the message that it's now the artists' turn to work and provide for their parents, acknowledging the sacrifices and struggles their parents endured while raising them. It symbolizes a sincere effort to reciprocate the care and dedication received during their upbringing. Pablo beautifully compares our parents to a guiding map in life's journey. Similar to how a map directs us anywhere we go, our parents provide guidance and support throughout our lives. They are like a constant beacon, helping us navigate through challenges and uncertainties. Just as a map helps us find our way back home when needed, our parents are there for us in times of need. As we journey through life, we encounter various modes of transportation such as vehicles, airplanes, or ships, each representing the highs and lows we experience. Despite facing ups and downs, riches and setbacks, the map of parental guidance remains our steadfast companion. It serves as a tool to overcome loneliness and adversity, ensuring that we find our way through life's trials with their unwavering support.
Hi Alexa I wanna Thank you for your sb19 RVs I just wish you could also react to their Tilaluha at TM Pusuan Love and Hanggang sa huli on wish bus❤❤❤❤❤ lovelots
Thanks 🙏 Alex indeed very beautiful, relatable& inspiring song from #SB19 or #MAHALIMA ( BELOVED 5). Check out their live performances of #GENTO & #MAPA at The First Take.
SB19 performed MAPA on The First Take - a Japanese channel where the artists get invited, given a mic, white backdrop, and perform their song in only 1 take
Hi Alexa! Virtual hug from afar. Not to worry - this song is indeed very relatable; it broke most everyone who has listened to it. Admittedly, in the right type of mood, it still can get me hard. Side note, the second video actually reflects the boys’ true family situations: - Pablo’s dad worked overseas for most of his life so may miss some important life events due to distance - Stell was sickly as a child - Ken grew up primarily in the care of his grandparents, both of whom had passed right as they were hitting stardom - Josh was raised by a single mother, alongside his older sister - Justin was always a studious kid.
Congrats on reaching 4K 🎉🎉 Thank you again for SB19 RV ❤ Nobody escapes the power of Mapa. It is a well written song with a beautiful melody. And as you said, their voices are so good. This is one of my favorite songs by SB19. I can't listen to this song in public because it always pulls my heartstrings 🥹 (looks weird to cry in public wearing earphones 😂)
I knew it that you will cry with this song. It is really a classic now in the Philippines. The wish bus performance is a good watch too. Until now,.I still can't imagine how Josh sang his part since he don't have his dad beside him 😕
My favorite performance of MaPa is from Sonik Philippines. They sang it in the halls of a museum and visually it's stunning. We don't mind that you watch different versions of one song, there are so many memorable performances!
