It’s sad that people not obedient to God’s word. The Bible clearly states that no women are allowed to be preachers. Shame on you SBC! Spencer continues to stand on the truth of God’s word!
@blondeamazon4567 You nailed it! My wife and I left the SBC in 2014 because our church would not. We tried to get them to leave, but they said we were crazy. They couldn't see the heretics and deceivers (like Russell Moore) for who they were. They still can't.
@@IMOO1896 Hermeneutics is a wonderful way to study the Bible. When verses are contextually understood, instead of tossed around as argument points for personal agendas or what is the current popular opinion, an understanding of why God asks for a certain standard of behavior or positions in life becomes apparent.
R.G. Lee the former president of the SBC said at a convention meeting “ if about 80 percent of you pastors don’t get saved you will go to hell”. That was in the 1950’s.
Our church left the SBC two years ago because we saw the handwriting on the wall. Our church has been SBC for over 100 years and voted 100% to get out.
Backsliding is one thing, but once someone falls all the way to complete apostasy, the Bible says repentance is no longer possible at that point (Heb. 6:1-8). That's why cherry-picking Scripture is such a dangerous practice.
Calling it a spiral towards more apostasy implies that the SBC ever practiced true Christianity to begin with. You can drift away from something you never had.
@@stephenbirchall941 I don’t agree with you and you have your opinion. You alone will answer to God for your opinion and I will answer for mine. Women are not to have power over men. That’s what’s wrong in today’s society now. I will not argue against the Bible. Have a blessed day.
The primary problem with women pastors is that the very people who are shepherding the church are disobedient to God and reject his authority. How on earth can such a church result in a repentant congregation?
I think the hardest part of this was hearing so many voices that weren't the least bit concerned about taking a Biblical stance but would rather make "progress".
Any time i bring up scripture telling people women cannot be pastors i get yelled at and insulted by both women and men. The bible never changes. I didn't write it. I just obey it.
You are right. I am 67 years old, and I have been to many churches, and I can't set down and talk about the Bible. I have been turned out of church and asked to leave, but real men of God must stand and tell the world the truth it is time that the real men of God stand up
You would think that watching the path the UMC and other churches have taken would be a warning to them but they are following right after them despite wisdom crying out for anyone who would listen!
Sir, I wholeheartedly agree with every word you said in this video. I’m 62 years old and I was saved at 33. Tomorrow morning I will be in the church nursery along with two other ladies taking care of 9-13 babies all under 2 years old. I do it because I want their parents IN Sunday School and church and to know their babies are in good, safe, loving hands! I feel it is a very important service to the church, few accolades, if any, but God is well aware of what motivates me to serve in this capacity. Women who want to stand on the stage and be seen by everyone are Self Promoters, we need to be Christ Promoters.
Didn't God ask Ezekiel? Where are my shepherds? The shepherds have led my sheep astray. We need some real men who are God-fearing, Holy Spirit filled leading the sheep.
The fact that an amendment had to be produced to enhance sound biblical doctrine tells you everything you need to know. Nothing more than open rebellion against the Word of God.
It certainly goes to demonstrate that according to the SBC - being sound and biblical isn’t popular concept nor is it a shared standard under the unified umbrella of the SBC.
Women shouldn't lead over men..I'm hoping, these women don't take us back to a primitive way to treat women.🙄😢 Don't forget: Islam came out only 600 years AFTER REVELATION was written MATTHEW/LUKE 4:4 DEUTERONOMY 8:3
Where is inclusive in the bible???where??it's not in there, most people promoting this nonsense will believe anything that's said on the news media!the most hateful thing you can do is not share the true gospel, people somehow think that all Christians hate these people, where is proof of that?,there is a radical group called Westboro bapt that say they are, but are actually hateful, but just because one group does ,doesn't mean all Christians are!!!
I’m a 70 year old Baptist. I never felt treated less than because I couldn’t be a Pastor. There are lots of important work to do in the church family. Traditional womens roles are vital to the church community.
Meanwhile millions of people are dying in their sin, because the church has forgot the Great Commision and is too busy squabbling over dogma. Babylon is burning.
That explains a lot as to why a former Baptist church I attended for ten years started going south. I left one that allowed women to teach, a non-Christian to lead Sunday School, let a cult "worship" there, taught anti-biblical theology, let a non-Christian be on the worship team, watered down their theology, wouldn't let Christians go pray out during Halloween without dressing up, told one child who wanted to receive Jesus "not today, but Friday"...yeah they never came back, told me that the congregation wasn't as smart as I was, so I couldn't teach them, said having statues of Mary were fine for a Catholic to have, and after leaving, started teaching yoga inside the church. And after telling just some of this to the then-assistant pastor, he didn't believe me. As you can imagine many people weren't growing spiritually, and I just couldn't be a part of that anymore.
@@brendad3570 It wasn't always like that, but the last 4 years got much worse. They were like a Christian family to me, and I was close to many of them, but eventually there was less and less Bible teachings and hardly anyone was growing spiritually, unless they studied the Bible for themselves. The former pastor was not as spiritually discerning as he should have been, and let all the above things happen, even when others brought it to his attention. Eventually I started looking for a different church, and during that time God brought an evangelist into my life, who had invited me to his church, and I liked it so much that I left the one mentioned above.
@@NancyAnderson-nt8bm Or maybe the pastor of an SBC church should stay and fight the good fight of the faith. I pastor a church in a denomination that is going to vote on this very thing next year at convention - sometimes God wants us to stay and speak the truth so that others can hear and see.
The evangelical idea that a Christian is already born again while in the flesh is itself a lie. Christ specifically stated that a born again person IS spirit. The Bible unequivocally teaches in Rom. 1:4 Christ is currently the ONLY human being who has experienced that rebirth. True Christians will NOT be born again until the resurrection of the firstfruits. Paul was very clear about this in his letters to the Corinthians and Thessalonians.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 if you believe Jesus had to be born again you have a blasphemous false gospel. Just by that part of your comment shows you do not have sound doctrine.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779nope. Jesus said unless you are born again you cannot enter the Kingdom of God. It has to be done BEFORE you die, or it’s too late.
Spencer, thank you so much for all your videos. I was raised in a southern Baptist Church. My husband was as well saved when we were younger. After watching your videos about five years ago I came to realize that the southern Baptist convention is corrupt they teach false gospels. I shared this truth with my husband. We started our journey trying to find an independent fundamental Baptist Church in our area. The options are few and far between. We started praying about the church that God would have us go and become a part of the work. just recently, we left the Southern Baptist convention and joined a missionary Baptist Church in a small rural community outside our small town. We’re so blessed and thankful to have this church in our community. Our pastor preaches the solid word in line. Absolutely I 100% in line with the king James Bible. I’m so thankful that God has showed us the deception that the modernistic churches are pushing on people today. I’m so thankful for you Spencer and your ministry that helped to bring these things to light as well. God bless you.
Thank you for bringing this into the conversation! We left our local SBC here in west Colorado, for this very reason! It's like the Bible is being ignored, to fit the ''current'' trends, specifying ''everything'' needs to change! It's shocking, yet we felt the Lord told us it was time to leave the SBC...we haven't looked back ----------- keep up the good work!
"I don't see how you can sit there and vote for women preachers and be a regenerate person" - Spencer Smith. AMEN AND SECONDED. "I'm not tough on women, I'm tough on Satan!" - Spencer Smith. AGAIN: AMEN AND SECONDED. Spencer is a MAN of God, and I am thankful! Rise up, O men of God!
The Bible is against women preachers but being saved is based on trusting the gospel of the grace of God ( Eph 1:13; 1 Cor 15:1-4) not behavior. The Corinthians had all kinds of issues but were still saved. The problem is that people get saved but do not come "unto the knowledge of the truth." Largely because doctrine is not preached in most places but fables or stories and illustrations, so people are "ever learning and never able to come unto the knowledge of the truth," with must be "rightly divided" ( 2 Tim 2:15) meaning the prophetic program for the nation of Israel ( Acts 3:21) must be divided from truth concerning this present dispensation of grace revealed unto the apostle Paul ( Rom 16:25-26).
Not always. What about women who have shaved their head because of cancer or other illnesses and other have short hair cause it’s growing back slowly? There are many different reasons . Not trying to come across as rude, I just think we need to be careful about that.
@@april-showers77 one of my dearest friends lost her hair to chemo. She covered her head with scarves and her hair grew back, long and beautiful and feminine.
The rule on short hair was a cultural rule for that area, that church, not for Christians today -- sticking to that rule is like sticking to a denomination. Paul made that rule because in the first century most people worshipped the Roman gods and goddesses, and the female temple prostitutes (there were male, also) cut their hair very short to advertise their profession. It was "the thing" to wear short hair, to be identified with that practice of prostitution.
I know a representative that was present at this year's SBC. The vote that failed was to institute the prohibition of female "pastors" into the constitution. That prohibition is still part of their doctrinal statement and was used to disfellowship another congregation during this meeting. The line was held, though not advanced as we had hoped. The opposition wants videos encouraging bible-believing Christians to abandon the SBC so that they can secure a firm grasp and overturn even the doctrinal statement. Such videos are helping the opposition.
It’s a shame there even NEEDS to be a vote. What can we do, but go to the Lord in prayer and contend for the faith while trusting in His sovereign hand. Thanks for the video Spencer!
You sho’ did tell the truth brother Spencer!!!! Your channel is one of the reasons I had to leave my former church, whose male pastor is very much for “women preachers”, and other false doctrines. I agree that most who are for women preachers may not be saved. It’s very clearly written that men alone need to be pastors and I hope my current church (IFB) doesn’t become apostate. I just call those who disagree with the Bible on this issue apostate. I don’t care anymore. I’m like you, brother Spencer. I’m just biblical, but thankful to be IFB.
For the past 5-6yrs, it’s been time to leave the SBC💯💯💯 my husband and I had that strong conviction back in 2019. So we did leave the SBC church that we were with for seven years. And started attending an independent Baptist Church. But we suffered so much spiritual and emotional trauma, we left and he went back to the SBC. The entire time I felt like it was wrong, but I had to follow my husband. Well, now, two years later, he sees that our initial conviction was what we should have stuck with. And now finally and for final we are leaving the SBC🎉💯🎉🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻
It's over Bapo's are done. Institutionalism has fallen, although Baptists like to claim they're independent they never really had been, now this has happened and it's good. At least now you can tell who is who!...They want their self designed Christianity, let them have it.
Trusted in my Lord in 1971. Bible is very clear that women should not be preachers in the church . I also believe that if this is true, neither should they be President on the US.
Once it starts, where does it stop?!!! I’d rather adhere to strict interpretation and be found wrong rather than playing around with The God of the universe! Lord, help us!
Ichabod! The glory has long departed from SBC. The roots of the SBC was rotten to the core and based on money like this is!. Theres more women at church now then men and they work! so no surprise there 😅.
The masonic influence is the biggest problem I've encountered. I was threatened for saying something about it. It doesn't surprise me to see them go down this path
The SBC church we grew up in had a woman pastor in the early 90s. Which is shocking with how strict they were when I was growing up. But it was going on then too
