Anyone else remember when you'd run into someone multiple times because you just happened to play at similar times in similar regions? Like, not every day or even every week but occasionally you'd look at the lobby and realize "Hey, I know that guy". I miss those days....
LOL- if that’s not happening to you now, then you must be an average player. Throughout last year, I continuously found the same people in my SND lobbies. & even this year in MWIII, I have found and played against those same individuals we played in MWII. If you’re the 1%, finding somebody you’ve played against/with is extremely common and happens almost daily.
@@trentononeill5493 Tbh, when I was still on MW2 it would happen alot. But it's not nearly as organic so I consider it something different. Now it's more a sign you're in for a sweaty match, so no friends are made most times. Edit: forgot to mention it was also SND for me. That mode seems to have the worst the effects from a dwindled player base. I NEVER had it happen in respawn modes how I remember it did in the past. That's where most of my good friends came from in BO2-IW. This game I made literally 2 friends organically and all others were made through those 2 by discord and such.

I absolutely hate this game. I’m tired of spending money only for a company to secretly manipulate my experience and 99% of the time its a frustrating rage inducing experience.
The one and only way to stop SBMM is to boycott the game. As soon as they see players/sales drop they’re more willing to listen. We need to stop giving them money for literally doing nothing

Sadly that’ll never happen, MW3 is the top selling game for Xbox pc and PlayStation while it’s the WORST rated cod. I’ve never seen a company been in as many controversies as activison and still be the number one selling product of the year. Fucking incredible

@@prodbyrav9891 yep, its very mixy though without a vpn my lobbys are mainly 1.4kd lobbys with with the vpn i still get the 1.4 lobbys but also get allot of 0.7kd lobbys as well but it just makes it different

Agreed. At first I would look down upon people using them but at this point I'm ok with it. Only problem is I'm on console so I don't think I can utilize them

I've been using this and Rewasd and I've actually been having fun in CoD again! I'm glad the general opinion is changing around these tools. Maybe I'll start getting less reports. I love knowing that I can go into a game with literally any gun and wipe the floor. Of course I still use the meta weapons just in case but it's nice knowing that I could use whatever. These tools are honestly lifesavers.

I feel like it's cranked up by x10000 this year around too. Just went the entire day negative leveling up and camo grinding more difficult guns and by the end of it we were still getting 2-5 stacks of crimsons iridescents and general CDL larpers running rivals, holger 556s or mcws. At least previous years you'd get a few good matches after going double negative for multiple games but not this time around.

I miss when cod was truly about chilling and doing FUN things! Remember machinima videos? Trickshots, skits,etc. People doing ninka defuses and more voice trolling in lobbies. Cod doesnt even have a fileshare, theather mode system anymore to show off to everyone! Hopefully theres even more that needs to return from past cods that the community can fight for. You guys deserve WAAAAAYYY more for 70 bucks from a multibillion dollar company Good luck cod players, warzone isn't even out as well so pray for them as well
I used to not want to do stuff like this because I thought it would be "cheating," but I'm just so fed up with SBMM and COD in general to the point where I either do this or I don't play at all. Activision can suck it for all I care.
If you level the playing field, believe me, those cheaters and youtuber kids aren't that good. Once you can slow the game down and play somewhat tactical those streamers get exposed. Do whatever you have to do. SBMM is a joke
the worst part of sbmm that I've seen lately is that, when you're really high in "ranks" it not only gives you the best opponents, but also way below the skill level teammates.
That's Engagement Optimised Matchmaking. The game decided who should likely win each game, based on how they can keep you engaged and wanting to hunt for that good game. It's disgusting

Facts man it’s the worst it’s ever ever been never even considered buying a VPN till this year best I done in ranked last year was crimson and I literally feel like I’m playing crimson ranked every game just want to come home from work and enjoy playing some pubs but it’s impossible at this point
EOMM has no place in gaming full stop. SBMM is ok FOR RANKED, not casual playlists! If this is the future of online gaming, then I'll be hanging up the controller in the very near future.

Except that the results he got show that the average standard deviation between VPN and Vanilla is pretty much the same if we don't count the last one (which to be honest, would be considered an outlier), plus the game has Performance Based Matchmaking, not Skill Based Matchmaking, you can see that between VPN and Vanilla games the variance is heavenly distributed.
@@FourEyesGames I’ve fiddled with it a fair amount, tried all the different game modes. I’ve yet to get a normal lobby. Constant sweat fest. Only time I’ve gotten a normal lobby was when I haven’t played the game in over 24 hours. SBMM and EOMM somehow works over the vpn, not sure how but it definitely does.
Remember peer to peer ping based Matchmaking, where you could use a netduma to connect to people within 200mile away.. them silky smooth lobbies.. *MIGRATING HOST*
We live in a profits over players gaming culture now. The purpose of SBMM is to influence you into rage purchasing a "Pay to Win" bundle in the hopes of that being the magic cool aid that gets you the kills/win. It is actually apart of the games algorithm. You buy a bundle and get a few bot lobbies because of the purchase only to be back at square one and hopefully rage buy another bundle. Sorry I hate it too.
Exactly how I feel. You feel awful after sessions, but also need to fulfill that dopamine rush so you keep playing and get addicted. I prefer to just whack a VPN on, play a session of mixed games, then call it there for the day.

Also intrigued if a larger dataset could be gathered - Is 100 games feasible? I use a different VPN and also just feel the difference between games. There are some that have CDL skin players so I know when I'm shooting them I need to be more focused. Then there are some games with 5/6 complete noobs and I know I have a chance to capitalize and have a monster game, like in the good old days. VPN definitely helps to give that variety between games. You still will get the occasional sweaty lobby. But if you're getting dunked on 1 in every 10 games that's fine cos the other 9 were fun and you know the next 9 will be too. Clearly SBMM is not going away, it helps retain bad players and keeps Activision's revenue flowing. But, I'd argue that those players don't play as much as hardcore fans. When you're bad it's because you haven't put the time in to get better. My first cod was Blops 1, started with a 0.7 K/D. By the end of OG MW3 I had a 2.3 K/D and 300+ MOABs because I wanted to get better and I did. I watched all the tips and tricks vids back in the day as part of that. Nowadays, SBMM allows bad players to coast through with their 1 K/D happily, without forcing them to want to improve, while punishing hardcore long-time fans by matching them up with one another.
@@ConradWeasel98 hmm okay, i use Nolag and cyberghost vpn but dont see big differnce in my lobbys. In warzone it works very well but multiplayer it doesnt
