The only thing to not pick apart is Bill's camera work- super job, Rook.
Light air is tough, and I really don't establish our own position with proactive timing, taking what the fleet gives us.
We conserve speed with our gybe onto stbd, but should've done it sooner. Speaking of sooner, 8mR NATURAL with huge stones went for a port at the pin start but only failed by being late.
Beautiful footage of beautiful 8mR NATURAL! To their huge credit, they went for a ballsy port-at-pin start. We liked the idea, and the first boats onto port did lead to the upwind mark- but the wood boat doesn't time their spot on the line and being just a few seconds late is the difference. Hindsight allows critique of where they tacked- because we certainly rolled the F outa them in short order.
Praise J33 GATORAID packed with ringers that wins the start. Then they scoot onto the favored tack first, and lead fast ALUETTE into the upwind mark. Huge performance by the shirtless greybeards on the Phoenix boat.
HUGE start for JACKEEN (b.1929) as they facial ALUETTE (b.1992) and spit them out to the side that paid off...gotta love sailboat racing.
Look how fit, smiling, engaged, and mobile middle-aged women are when they crew on these racing sailboats! Get those you love out on the water or find those difficult active things to do!
