MIDI version of it is also of a higher pitch; that makes it sound better for me.

Probably because it’s actually on par with traditional tuning unlike the wav versions

この曲をsc-8850で強制的に8850mapにして聴くとピアノとストリングスに重厚感が増してすげーかっこよくなるんですよ sc-8850持ってる人は是非やってみてほしい force8850mapモードがあるmidiプレイヤー使うと楽(紅魔郷のmidiはセーブデータがあるところらへんにある)

I love both versions of this track but I really like this for several parts, including the super soft intro and the way it builds. It's great

曲調がノリノリなせいなのか音が軽めなせいなのか、WAVでプレイして六面にたどり着くと手汗かくほど緊張するのにMIDIだとあまり緊張しない（クリアできるとは言ってない）

It's weird that nobody mentions how good the background part of this theme is, notably those guitars that are absent from wav. version. The leads in this version however are worse imo.

WAV版とはまた違ったベクトルのカリスマ感があって好きあっちは夜のお嬢様って感じで、こっちは闇の女王みたいなイメージある

Probably this was pointed out a million times before, but. Does anyone think ZUN was referencing Beethoven's 8th Sonata Movement III in this track's first verse? Anyway, this is another song that I find way better in MIDI format.

Hmm...pretty interesting to hear how was originally intended to sound. But imo, it sounds somehow rougher than the WAV version we ended up getting. I like how forceful and passionate the instruments sound in the WAV version, it really drives your emotions to the brink.

For this and sakuya's theme, the modern versions are a lot better tbh. The original title theme is absolutely beautiful though, and patche's original theme is a lot better as well. Still need to listen to the rest though ^^
