1987 Joshua Tree, listened on loop in hospital, rip 18y0 bro our song, car accident driving to mass !!.. " god works in mysterious ways" ?? Keen to hear your mysterious explanation god
Scala have the voices of angels. I'm not normally into choral music--but when I hear then, even I have to pause and take it all in. Very powerful group.
@@gringodoce5788 Scala and Kolacny Bros' cover of "Every Breath You Take" was featured on the original Downton Abbey soundtrack and is how many Americans became aware of them, given Downton's enormous popularity in the US. At least, that's how I discovered them and what led me to look up their other music, including "With or Without You," which I think is particularly nice.
Thumbs up if you cry your eyes out every time you hear this because it's about the most beautiful thing you've ever heard, and maybe you felt this way about someone in your life...
This is so beautiful, just saw a Kobe and Vanessa video that had this song playing and I was crying. Someone was right when they said that they hope they hear this when they enter Heaven..perfect
When you love someone but she doesnt love you back is one common intepretation. You cant live with them, but living without them also doesnt seem an option.
I had this pop up on my media about a month ago. As i observe and listen i notice many are still there today. I would say they are angelic singer's. I wish i could afford to have them at my memorial as my time isnt long on this earth. Bless them all.
These girls were just in Cork for the International Choral Festival. They give choirs a good name. It was wonderful to see their energy and enthusiasm.
i have been a u2 fan all my life - 25 years (im 39) - this is the most beautiful cover iver ever heard. Nothing brings me to tears - but this did. it was beautiful.
How anybody is not touched by this beautiful haunting song is beyond me. I am just in tears listening. I wish this world could be the same.Oct 2019 and forever folks .❤❤❤❤
Simply breathtaking, whether you adore U2 like me (and thus are picky about covers), or wether you can't stand their swagger. These lyrics are U2 at their most emotionally raw, sweetened by the voices of young girls who clearly feel the music.
I really like watching the conductor, all his gestures and expressions, and watching the singers. Wish they would have had a few shots of the pianist too. There's something about watching the miracle of music, the beauty of it happening, a natural wonder, like watching a musician's hands as they play.
This must have been the first time I heard Scala, have now many of their albums. Many years ago, great to know that the choir continues. God bless the girls of the past, now and hopefully the future..
This version sounds like you would hear it in a 24-hour grocery store. Somewhere between 1and 2am. Stores usually play peaceful sounding songs that early in the morning 😊
Totally understand. I lost my dad 15 years ago and my mum last year. So beautiful this song!! I also think with the passing of Sinead O’Connor it makes this type of singing so relevant
This is not a cover. Stop shouting trolls. This is an interpretation of a song that is about women...just listen to those heels leaving the choir. You either get it or you don't. It's brilliant. It's heartbreaking. It's perfect.
I first heard this song a few years back as background music to an advert for Downton Abbey. It sent me on a day long search into the history of this piece of music. I had never heard it by U2, I am not a fan but I am grateful to Bono for sticking with it. The song had an incredibly difficult birth but the adaptability of the song and the ability of the brothers Stijn and Stephen to create this version for Scala is quite outstanding. Like Pablo's comment below I couldn't believe I didn't know this song once.
See the stone set in your eyes See the thorn twist in your side I'll wait for you Sleight of hand and twist of fate On a bed of nails, she makes me wait And I wait without you With or without you With or without you Through the storm, we reach the shore You give it all but I want more And I'm waiting for you With or without you With or without you, ah, ah I can't live With or without you And you give yourself away And you give yourself away And you give And you give And you give yourself away My hands are tied My body bruised, she got me with Nothing to win and Nothing left to lose And you give yourself…
Man, the lyrics cut so deep 😣 I used to hear this song come on the radio when I was a teenager & I’d roll my eyes & switch to another mostly-crap radio station 🙄 But as a middle aged adult, these lyrics take on an entire new meaning 😌🖤
@@nathansmallwood1809 Yes! I've found it. I was going to upload my recording but ITV have it on their channel and it's much longer than the one used for the ITV3 promo. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uoDM1y8Uv1Y.html
Somene else could fly to the sky listening these hearhts expresings their feelings listening the best language in the world... the music. Congratulations !!!😊
This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever listened to. I know the the bass in the original is such a crux of the song, but.... Thanks Scala.
an excellent musical arrangement, voices like when are coming from the sky , a song that enters directly into the soul and then, there, you archive it to favorites !
WOW!!! I'm a huge U2 fan, and got to say this is an awesome version. I can see Bono & the boys loving this. Thisbreaks the song to its base, just the piono and lyrics. POWERFULL!! Great job all around
This is a breath of fresh air in a music world full of saturated pop.more I say.absolutely gorgeous.I've cover'd this song for years and this just breaths new life into a classic.
love U2, the original song is haunting and emotional already, and this version gives an ethereal feeling to it as well. this group has also done a cover of U2's "Bad," which is beautiful. (and i can't believe this is from 17 years ago, one of the older videos on youtube at this point, wow)
great how this musical leader give his own touch to this great song. And i must say he, and his choir gave a great own interpretation of this timeless song. well done, because its a hard song to do. In my eyes, the piano could gave at the end a 'bit' more volume and a longer solo with climax to end in pianissimo again, for a great ending. but again, this is a very good performance, compliments!
