In this ScalaHosting Review I test their platform to see if it's worth using for your site or should you stick with shared hosting over managed VPS.

ScalaHosting offers managed VPS services over the traditional shared web hosting that you might see with other providers. VPS stands for a virtual private server. So, instead of sharing your resources with other clients you'll have a personal web hosting environment. In the past, this used to be reserved to enterprises as it was expensive and hard to use. But now providers like ScalaHosting are actually making Managed VPS hosting cheaper, faster and more secure than ever. Considering the benefits it's definitely worth trying out.

01:00 - Benefits Of Cloud

07:30 - Pricing
09:35 - Recommendation
In this ScalaHosting review I test out everything that new users seem to be afraid of when using a VPS: ease of use, performance and the cost of running your own server.
ScalaHosting is really easy to use since you're not dealing with any command lines, terminals or code. It uses a very similar (visual) user interface as most web hosting companies.
Since you're not really buying web hosting packages, you're jsut buying virtual server resources you always know EXACTLY how many resources you're using or how much you need. As a bonus you can always add or remove resources at will.
ScalaHosting pricing starts at $10/mo which is in line with more premium shared web hosting services. However, for the same price you're getting much better performance and you're not missing out on any features. If you're currently looking to start a website choosing managed VPS providers like ScalaHosting might save you a lot of troubles down the line.

Emit! I want to say thank you! Honestly, your videos are super awesome, I'm sure you'll grow huge on youtube!!! Also, not sure if you can help me with two questions ... I'm putting my final decision to get a contract to host my new website project, it's basically an online course academy on electronics and robotics for young students and I'm planning to build using learndash + WordPress. Currently, I don't have any students, I'll start this project from scratch. My question #1 is if you think that for my it will be better to go for Sitegrounds or Scalahosting (basically shared hosting vs VPS), and my question #2, If I'm not located in US, will this be an issue for me or my audience if they connect from another country than where the server is located?. Thanks a lot for your super awesome and great content!

I think It looks good but their DO server charges are more than cloudways. At first glance it looks like ScalaHosting stand out feature is their spanel and the email hosting.

@Emit.Reviews

I would go for a VPS. If you know your way around setting it up a $5 VPS will outperform even $30 shared plans. If you don't want to set it all up I would go with scala

Yes it's a new feature from them. There's no going wrong with AWS and $25 for a managed service is a great deal since nobody is offering this on the VPS market. I'll do a full review later

Would you go for scala hosting vps or unmanaged a2hosting vps and hire one someone for a one time fee? 🤔

Scala, since you will probably need to update stufd on your site frequently (once a week at least) relying on a hire will be more expensive in the long term

Thanks Emit. I would like to see a comparison between Cloudways & Scalahosting. I know Scala wins on pricing most likely, but I still think both offer a similar solution to the same problem.
@Emit.Reviews
@Emit.Reviews 3 года назад
Hey Patrick. Well the main difference is that Cloudways just resells the servers from other providers. While ScalaHosting has their own server and tech. This allows ScalaHosting to be more flexible. For example on Cloudways emails cost extra money and they don't even sell domain names, ScalaHost gives emails and domains for free. And in a situation where your website goes down on Cloudways and you contact the support, they can't really help you if the problem is located in their original provider, they'll just tell you to wait. ScalaHosting on the other hand has their own servers so they would be able to fix the problem or move you to a working server. I prefer ScalaHosting over cloudways in pretty much every scenario.

@Emit.Reviews
@Emit.Reviews 3 года назад
Hey man! If you're at 10k and growing I would recommend choosing a VPS. You'll have full control of RAM/bandwidth and SSD storage. However, I wouldnt worry about these to start. 1GB of RAM and 1 core is enough for you. I recommend you go with the provider I showcase in the video it's around $10 a month. If you want cheaper I would recommend InterServer (shared hosting, not VPS so it's not as scalable and slower but it's like $2.5 a month). emit.reviews/go/interserver-2021 you can find a full review on my channel as well. Good luck man!

Its enough to start with. I assume all 10k users wont be online at the same time. If you expect HEAVY usage more than 3k at the same time. Go for like 4gigs 2 cores.

Its a pretty common thing that web hosting companies do. So you would buy for a longer period of time. The only company thats good and doesnt do this is InterServer

the price for the lowest managed plan has jumped up by 50%!! No thanks
@Emit.Reviews
@Emit.Reviews 2 года назад
yeah the pricing increased by 50% BUT resources doubled. Instead of 1 core, 2GB RAM and 20GB storage you get 2 cores, 2GB RAM and 50Gb storage. So I would say that now it's kinda an even better deal. Yeah it's more expensive but you get a more powerful VPS.
