that was very realistic, felt like you were actually in the plane flying it especially with the moving arms, it was like team America without the string lol especially the crash. Loved that. :)
+Mikey mike Team America is what I thought, too, when I saw the doll in the packaging! Of course, the fact that it was originally a "Fashionista" Ken doll (probably on sale/clearance) gave it a suitably tacky pedigree, too. (As for cutting off Ken's head to fit him in the cockpit... That's a bit gruesome...) Figures Ken couldn't hack a Mustang and would bend the thing... Question, though... Why was the Mustang falling apart like it did? Was it a balance issue? Was something not screwed on tightly enough or was a magnet failing somewhere? With this videographer you never know what it is... He seems to be as gleeful about pushing RC to the limit and busting up stuff as the kids that play with bottle rockets and fireworks snakes...
Soo I called my gf over to see this cool video (I was thinking man David goes into so much awesomeness detail I love the control movement, let me share it with my gf who could give two ***** about r/c hobby). I had not seen the video all the way through when I paused it I called her over and she caught with me the first barrel roll. All the way until the cockpit popped out. She freaked out realizing she just saw a pilot die on youtube... I thought all along she knew it was rc since I love r/c, I thought certainly the dashboard gave it away, but apparently I'm a jerk now because "I KNEW that this was going to happen"... Thanks David!... No but really that looks pretty darn realistic!!! Im just sad it took me this long to find it! Great work!!
But that is what you do: No matter what happens, continue trying to fly the plane. If you do, you might, even accidentally, find something that works just well enough to survive the landing. In any emergency, the mantra is: "Aviate, navigate, communicate."
damn dude you are living the dream of rc airplanes when i get older to get a job im going to start doing what you are doing you inspired me to love airplanes even more then when i was younger
when I saw the picture for the video I though: "Damn David did a lot of work editing his hands, and building that cockpit." Little did I know, very awesome.
still my all time favorite rc plane video. that little guy was fighting for control all the way until impact lmao. I was pullin for ya man! another 50 feet and he might have figured a way out of that mess. I know it tore up your plane but well worth it for us Greg
I love how great and fantastic everything looks and then youre suddenly still in the cockpit and looking at the fuselage/tail and just thinking "whelp, something is quite wrong with this picture"
I think that's one of the neatest RC videos I've ever seen. You did a great job.Even the pilots hands are in sinc. I've never seen a plane crash from the pilots seat.I hope you were able to repair it. TOP SHELF!!!!
I know you because of flitetest... I just flying airplane 2 months ago ( before that I fly helicopter since 2009) and now I try to build my self plane... and your work sooo amazing.... love !!!!
Now I've calmed down..... Brilliant. Can you give details on model and especially the camera...no annoying blade tearing refresh effect. And in the spirit of fun...flares are not just a 70's fashion fad. It's good for when approaching the ground with a intention of landing... Love this, now looking at all your clips..subscribed.
Love it! Structural failure, headless-Ken screaming on the way down, music and high definition video. Too bad plane was damaged, nice set up. Gives me some ideas. Like the canopy frame only for clarity of video. Neat!
When I clicked on the video, I literally thought it was a full scale P-51. Great job, David! It's the little details that make this hobby so great. :) (PS, can you do a FliteTest video about how to do the movements in the cockpit? I understand that you hook it up to the servos, but I would like to see how to do that, and also how to make the pivoting control column and sliding throttle)
Yeah, it just looks like one of those stickers. You can buy instruments that actually move, but I forgot who makes them. I saw them at the WRAM show last year, they were showing off some of their new panels for turbine jets including a cool glass cockpit display. If those were on there I'd believe it was more realistic
that was so, so cool!!! I laughed my ass off!! How the hell did that cockpit come off!!?? And I loved how cool and calm the pilot was when he was going down...lololo. great video bro!!
OUTSTANDING !! Love the idea ! All the more fun (sorry !) when the magnets let loose - the pilot bravely rides it in trying to save it, working at the stick and throttle the whole way !! LOL !!
It is. The cam moves! Pan/tilt. The transmitter has a dial to move the head. Also, the video is not just a camera. It streams live to little TV glasses (Goggles) so you can actual watch REAL TIME! (Some people fly 10 miles away like that)
