The Derby City Model Car Builders put on their 6th Annual Ohio Valley Reginal Model Car Contest/Swap Meet in Louisville, KY. July 15, 2023. Scale Model Cars and Trucks, Scale Model Contest and Swap Meet Throttle Power
This has always been a fun show, had a really good time hangin' out with friends for the day! If you want to see everything in the Swap Meet click on the video linked at the end.
Takes me back to the days of building model cars and trucks I have built model cars and trucks for the better part of 44yrs it was fun while it lasted but as with all things it came to an end I retired from model building in ,2018
I was losing car parts and had to build the parts by hand which means that the model cars were modified I still have a few model cars like the,1971plymouth barracuda 1967 Dodge Coronet and the 1964impala SS with a fuel injected 307 V8 that was the engine that GM never built for the 1964 Impala SS I affectionately considered the car my batmobile because basically the engine design was a break through my retirement was due to the hobby shop near my location was closed
To me it was the end of an era I'm still keeping up with the interest in cars in general but basically it was time for me to step aside and let the next generation of model car builders do their thing so i retired after so many years building and modifying my model cars like the model cars in the video ok thank you
Great video Tim! Loved the build quality of those police cars!!- To the builder- AWESOME WORK!! @16:03 - Gotta say THAT is a VERY original idea for the rambler kit & here as well, AWESOME WORK!!! @15:43 The White wrecker - very cool subject, & again very original thinking by using the lower portion of an existing cab for the bed! These are just some of the examples here that make attending these shows great. Thanks for posting!
wow , so many top notch builds......I don't envey the judges jobs @ that show....ohhh man , good stuff , and them dioramas...mannnn , kool Robert ps another great vid thanx again
The commercial is always one of my favorites but I think everything you showed was my favorite in this video. Lol. Definitely was an excellent show. Can’t wait to see the trade show part of it.Thanks a lot for the great work Tim. Bruce in Wv.
Must have been a great show, swap meet had pretty interesting stuff and here are some sweet builds. Thanks for sharing Tim, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Thanks for sharing these! I have a question....do you know anyone making a resin '88-'98GMC Sierra that fits the AMT Dually? Im working on a NHRA Safety Safari Dually and would love to find the grille.
So glad you like the vids Doug! Not sure about the grill, Iceman Collections offers several different GM grills, might want to look there and see what he has. Let me know what you find out and I'll keep my eyes open if I see something that might work for you.
Great video Tim! Thanks for sharing. Did you have anything in the contest? Saw the Svengoolie model (although I think he would drive a hearse despite what it says).
I wanted to make it ,but work got in the way dang it. I’m definitely making in down from Cincy to one of the Louisville shows. Hope to meet you Throttlepower.
I got Theresa little late and didn't get to see all of the contest models. I knew I could depend on Throttle Power to catch up. It was a good show. Thanks for covering it Tim. Another great addition.
Did you know there is a Dodge 300 called Color Me Gone it was a race car from the 60's when they ran the first printing of the box the model came in it was a misprint they marked it as a super sport ran about 300-500 before they caught it and changed to super stock so if you see one that says super sport unopened save it, it's a collector. I had 5 of them at one point and the article about it but lost them in a divorce.
@@THROTTLEPOWER yeah I had learned about it back in the late 90's and happened to buy one then found the article in a magazine and started looking found 3at the same Walmart for less than $20.00
I don't have anymore shop cards Jamie, just stickers and coffee mugs in my Spreadshop Store. Hold off a few days because I'm going to post a video on getting those stickers for free instead of paying the Spreadshop prices.
