The first Scale Model World in Telford under hard Brexit conditions and at the time of the Corona pandemic looked very different from what many local and also international visitors had seen at the show so far.
The usually so popular Overseas Section, where mostly continental European modellers exhibited their models, was missing. There was also no kit swap, which is usually so popular.
But our modelling friend Andy Binks from England gives answers to these things and to some other questions in the course of this picture report.

I can understand you very well. But then my RU-vid channel has something good, namely that you could at least enjoy the SMW a little virtually. Believe me, the fact that the Brexit makes it almost impossible even for us Europeans from the "continent" to visit the SMW show is the real shame. It was always a huge party with many real modelling friends from Europe and many other countries. And what the Brexit didn't break, Covid-19 then took care of. But we don't let anything or anyone ruin our friendships! Kind regards from Münster, Germany Berthold PS very soon there will be a Best of Euro Model Expo (EME)-Pics-Video here on the channel. @@Modellbau360"almost impossible"?? Really? How does Brexit prevent international travel? I think the problem may be yours, not Brexit's.

@@mrmodelsman I have to agree with you on one thing. It is actually my problem and not that of Brexit. After all, only people have problems and not just any laws and legal norms. That's logical so far. And don't get me wrong. It was the result of a vote which we Europeans accept although we are not happy with it. You are the architect of your own fortune and that's a good thing. Of course, only Brexit poses obstacles to the movement of goods and free, uncomplicated travel. That is certain and verifiable. Hardly any dealer from the continent was represented at the Scale Model World. This is due to Brexit and nothing else. But that's how you want it, and you have every right to do so. But I also have the right to regret this!

@@Modellbau360 I mean the problem is caused by you, not by Brexit. It is of your making, or at least, it is in your imagination. During the years I was living as an EU citizen I travelled many times to many non-EU countries. It is VERY easy to do; I travelled freely and without complications. If you are certain that "Brexit poses obstacles to free, uncomplicated travel", you are mistaken. It is as easy for you to visit the UK from the EU as it is for you to visit the USA or Japan or Brazil or New Zealand or...or...or.... Unless you're saying the EU doesn't allow its citizens to travel beyond the EU's borders? Do you now need an exit visa? There are 193 countries in the world and almost all of them (ALMOST all - there's North Korea and the EU 27 I suppose) manage to travel freely to each other. Your first post says "And what the Brexit didn't break, Covid-19 then took care of" yet now you say "This is due to Brexit and nothing else". Nothing else? Not even Covid-19? And why were some UK dealers absent? Did Brexit - and only Brexit- stop them attending too? Or maybe there were other reasons? And if those reasons applied to UK dealers and modellers, why could those same reasons not apply to non-UK dealers & visitors?

Great video apart from the virtue signalling, referring to mask wearing. Completely at odds with most of the video contents, showing models of war machines.
