I love my analog tracks ....no digital for me....old time race cars....just seeing them still running around the circuit its calming and satisfying enough....and changing the layout anytime I want....freedom....
My cat loves Scalextirc more than i do. She hunkers down under the TV stand watches a couple of laps then BAM pounces and its race over. Even better if i get a large book for a tunnel, she'll dive through it causing destruction! a cat after my own heart. Don't forget all the cleaners, they get the worst jobs (apart from the NHS workers)
Well, it was a surprise to see myself in the video... in the background whilst Damon Hill raced Anthony Davidson at Sky Sports. Managed a race against Davidson myself which resulted in much larking about - I ended up hiding his controller under the table :-)
Watching the wee one at the 7:47 mark shows how far slot cars have come and also shows how there is NO skill involved. That first fan track had me amazed the cars actually ran with all the gaps where the tracks connected. While I can see the advantage of being able to run several cars at a time on digital track I still prefer the old analogue stuff not to mention how expensive it is. I can guarantee no low income family will shell out for a digital set.
So I wake up on my birthday to a state under stage three lockdown, so it's going to be one of the crappiest I've had. To the news that I didn't win the competition.
