I am a big fan of Gary’s work. I applied the techniques he demonstrated on the Scalextric channel and they worked very well. What I like about your video, John, is that it shows close-up shots to help understand what Gary is doing. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, john, use a damp cloth, on the back tires gently because they will get loose, and fall, your track is awesome, on the floor,is that your living room, or bedroom, a damp cloth will give you better grip, try it and let me know,
What a difference sanding those tires/guide and nail varnish on the front tires made! Question is Who laps your Lambo faster, Gary or John? Only one way to find out?! Looking forward to stage 2.:)
@@johnny-S Sounds like a plan! I used to watch your channel because I own an Alfa and have always been interested in other Alfa's too. We've always had a scalextrics setup and it was gathering dust, but now we've cleaned it up and have been back racing on it ever since your series started. Funny how things happen. Keep up the great work. All the best.:)
It's interesting to hear him say that you wouldn't normally glue the rear axle in when all the other slot car tuners recommend it. I always got annoyed when I purchased a second hand car that had the rear axle glued in but I now do it myself. The C3697 and C3893 have to have the rear axle glued in because the axle retaining posts are too short and the axle pops out repeatedly when being used. It even pops out in the crystal display case. I bought a C3697 for my nephew's birthday and had to post it to him due to work commitments and he was most upset when he got it out the case to use on his birthday and it just sat on the track motor turning but not going anywhere
Hi Aussie. What I said was that I normally wouldn’t glue it in *that way*, meaning glue on the bottom of the bearing. Axels should always be glued from the top, as I did later once the crack had been repaired.
@@garyskippracing Gary, thank you for taking the time to help out with making this series. Its fantastic to see what a top level car builder and racer does. Will you be doing any "tuning" "setup" video's in the future your self?
Thanks. Stage 2 is a simple one - tyres and balancing. Stage 3 will be a better one. Just waiting for lockdown to ease up and allow us to meet up to do it! Thanks for watching.
