I meant to upload this last week, but I'm currently on vacation!! I wanted to go a bit more in-depth to show you all how I maintain my box braids throughout the week to keep my hair and scalp moisturized and hydrated! OMG, it's finally here! I have been working on this product line for 6 long years and I am SO EXCITED to FINALLY share it with you all! Inspired by my DIY hair product recipes and the requests from my online community, Melanin Haircare was officially founded in 2015!

Thank you for not adding fragrance to your products. I am someone with those...nostriley problems you spoke of. And I’m also allergic to most stuff. It’s to a point that I don’t even like to try new hair products for fear of a reaction. (Hives are no joke😭) I have to make most of my products. So I was super excited when I read the ingredients for the products and thought this is something I can ACTUALLY try. Wish me luck! 🤞🏿

That is my problem too. What is even worse is that I am sensitive to a lot of natural scents too. So because of the sage and geranium I hesitate to even buy the oil. It just sucks.

I washed and used your products Saturday and today is Tuesday and gurl...my hair is soft and still in protective style and oiled. I looooove everything about these product! 😍. You and your sister are not messing around. First of all, I placed the order and received it the next day! The branding looks like minimalist sophistication in my bathroom and the size is perfect. I love it! Please don't change the name. The products are the bomb! I've tried your product for the first time this week on Sunday and it's Thursday now. My hair have been wrapped up in a scarf for a few days,I took it down to oil my scalp and re-moisturizes my hair and believe it or not my hair was still soft and moisturized from using your product on Sunday,the only thing I had to do was oil my scalp and that's it,the ends of my hair was even very well moisturized. I'm definitely buying your products again and please keep the formula the same.

In all my years of watching and liking RU-vid videos this is my very first time leaving a comment. But I just felt compelled to. This is exactly what I did to my hair. I washed added leave-in, cream, and oil and wore my hair in braids a week. I took It down today thinking I’d probably need to re-moisturize and BaeBae my hair was the softest I’ve ever experienced and silky smooth. The definition was bomb! And did I mention shiny :) I said all of that to really thank you for creating products that have such great results w/o coconut oil. Whenever I use products with it I have an excessive amount of shedding. Can’t wait to see what you come out with next. PS I love the fact that they don’t have any scents added.

I got your products in the mail Tuesday. When I opened the box and held them in my hands and read your card with your picture, I cried. I’m so proud of you! I washed my hair tonight and used the products for the first time. The cream is so lightweight! I love the way the oil smells. I kept thinking “is that mint?” Geranium! I am loving these products! As the old folks used to say, " You really put your foot in it" ( which means, " It's really, really good"😊). I have had my head shaved for about 5 years. Every now and then I’ll go a month or two without cutting it but I would always return to my caesar cut or straight up bald (yes, shiny head and all!!!). I initially shaved my head to start my natural hair journey but I grew frustrated with every product I tried, nothing would work on MY hair. I categorize my hair as type 4. I don’t go any deeper than Type 4 because my head is different textures all over and it has always been that way, even before my mother relaxed my hair. Technically, I have been natural for 5 years but I have kept my hair short. When MEALNIN Haircare was announced the little girl in me who found Whitney’s videos on. RU-vid 8 years ago screamed “GROW YOUR HAIR OUT, WINTER!” I am now finally growing my hair out and just purchased the oil and the elongating creme to use a moisturizer. Even with my very short hair/low cut I would turn to Naptural85’s recipes to make sure my hair was a moisturized and luxe as it could be even being short. I think what I have been waiting for was Whitney to start her own hair care line. I also think the reason so many people have had nothing but good things to say about the product is because for as long as we in the natural hair community have known Whitney, we have known her to keep it NAPtural (natural). Her product is no bs. no fillers. no frilly fragrance. Nothing but love and the magic of the Earth are in her products and I am excited to see how the line grows. Now y’all know she’s going to give us a conditioner, deep conditioner, pre-poo, shampoo, and a good ol flaxseed gel (the OGs know she loves a good flaxseed gel). I am so freaking excited about the products and this line. Truly want to see Whitney take over the natural hair industry because for damn bear a decade she has been teaching us how to use what’s available just on this planet to keep our hair healthy!

Natural hair is so unique and versatile... I find it amazing how my hair draws up into a TWA when its dry but the moment water touches it drops down long i literally have to dedicate a few hours to wash and style it lol like i gotta plan it all out with my schedule I can only do it on my days off... 😓 but its worth it to me its a ritual i call it my pamper day. I'm having some wicked postpartum shedding. I keep thinking "How do I still have hair on my head?!" So much shedding 🤦🏾‍♀️ That scarf trick is 👌🏾 on point. My biggest issue with wearing braids is how thick the top is. I'm going to revisit this style with the Melanin cream. With a three month old, this would be veeeeeeery useful. SHINY!!! 🙌🏾 (Now that song is going to be stuck in my head lol) your hair and makeup at the end was on point!! Nutrients? Maybe you could use healthy ingredients, nourishing elements, moisturizing conditioner or cream... that's all I got 😆

Got my MELANIN in the mail yesterday! Love the smell of both products. For those folks who just have to have a "fragrance," they can just add their favorite essential oil. And that OIL! I rubbed a little dot on the back of my hand and my skin was SOOOOO soft. It truly is non greasy. I am giddy over the applicator cap. It doesn't snag my hair. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

As far as the scent there are absolutely no complaints. I love it! I actually will stop using a product even if it’s good because I get tired of the scent. But this is perfect!!!! I just had to comment on how much I love the effect of Melanin Hair Care products on my tresses. The twisting creme is amazing and provides such definition. The oil is non greasy which I love. Kudos for a job well done.

Yesssssss! I usually cornrow my hair in the shower and use the water to help detangle, HOWEVER, with the Melanin products, my hair was extremely manageable. I did two cornrows outside the shower for the first time since I was relaxed six years ago! Thank you for these products! Love the smell of the oils, too! Also, great video. Currently trying to regrow my hair from postpartum breakage, which for me lasts all through breastfeeding. So two years later...yeah 😒

I love the scents of both products. I don't really smell anything in the cream which is fine with me. The oil has a lovely light scent, and I LOOOOVE it. It's not over powering. It's great!
