Thanks for another Great video, planned to go there years ago but covid got in the way. Thanks especially for filming your bartering at the airport…thats a great tip and enjoy watching. Looks a nice place to visit, guess the locals speak more French than English there.

As a European tourist who earns a decent salary in Europe, keep in mind that the average hard-working Moroccan earns pittance. So come on, quit splitting hairs about getting the best price.

Always get taxis from outside the airport (walk 5 min away from the airport boundary)

Marrakech is my least favorite place I've been to in Morocco last trip I didn't even bother going back. . Guelamim & surrounding Province is really quiet & people are generous & friendly ..same is true of Zagora area. Essouria, Jbel Saghro, Sidi Ifni, Taghazout, Agadir, Aït Benhaddou, Nkob, etc. Walked around another dozen little towns whose name's I can't recall. Much better experiences. It's sad so many people just visit Marrakech & think that's what Morocco is

Back in the 1980s I rented a room with food washing etc for 100dirhams a week, I tried to haggle the price down, I wouldn't say I'm tight, plenty would .....!!!! I have MORROCAN friends in Spain were I live and they are top people always willing to help anywhere anytime .....

I rescued 48 cats so far in Casablanca. I ran all sorts of paid ads to find serious adopters, without success. I resorted to foreign shelters where they have been accepted. I got all their blood work done to be eligible to travel to North America and some of them to Western Europe. I’m stuck with transportation. There is no pet relocation company in the whole country of Morocco which is a shame, the only way is to get them to travel with people (maximum 1 cat per passenger). In case you can onboard a cat, I’ll pay for the flight fees plus $250 for your kindness. Thank you much and God bless.

I spent a couple of weeks travelling all over Morocco about 5 years ago. My advice would be to avoid Marrakech. There are the obvious scams that Wendall points out, but the main sense I got was that a significant portion of the locals just see you as a tourist to exploit as best they can. You experience this most in the souk (market). If you are a young female (particularly blond) you are very possibly going to experience some unpleasant behaviour towards you from the locals. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Fez instead, as it has just as much as Marrakech and a lot more, and the locals are very pleasant. I will reiterate, any negative behaviour by the locals was ONLY observed in Marrakech during my trip, and travelling around the rest of Morocco was fantastic. PS: If you decided upon Fez instead you could also include a trip to the blue city Chefchaouen, as its just north of there.
