Came here to say this. At this point it is all chinese workers. Be it in china or italy. Same people. So people can stop oohing and aahing at fakes. The real ones are made by same people- 💯 with same material 😂😂😂😂
I know wealthy women who carry replicas. The main reason they gave is that they just understand the value of money and don't want to spend too much money on bags... so more people choose fashionable*preluxz* bags. However, they do spend a lot of money on fine jewelry and other things.
I can’t remember the name of the RU-vidr, she a luxury fan, She paid hundreds for a Dior wash bag, green patterned one. It wasn’t even lined. It was stitched roughly under the zip. And it was real. It was the quality of something from Poundland
I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch at the *hotdups* to compare materials etc. The real brooch is nearly 4 times the price and is made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass.
I have two pre-loved*preluxz* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.
You’re so passionate about this. I definitely could see you running a prelove luxury business if you didn’t have your existing one. I think your business experience definitely helped
I'm 37 years old and I already have a *hotdups* black Birkin bag, which was the first good choice I ever made. I can afford a Kelly bag in any color. If I were 25, I'd probably buy it. But now I consciously don't want to associate with a woman who has a Kelly and a Birkin. I have no interest in spending $40k on a bag (a piece of leather + labor = up to $1000) Imagine spending $39k on this brand. Totally unnecessary.
I went to Studio Augusta when I went to Paris in the summer. I bought Monceau at *hotdups* to match. My only regret is not purchasing more. I really hope to get a mini Marley one day.
to be honest. If you produce at cost and remove the logo, the luxury market really isn't that expensive. The mark is about 80% of the actual price. But the fact that you are *hotdups* buying an image and showing off your taste to make them think you are richer than you are is a very good thing to do
Plot twist: the luxury companies are the ones flooding the market with “counterfeits” so that we stop buying through the resale markets and go back to spending full (stupid) prices in the boutiques. 🤪
Hi Amelia, long time occasional viewer here Things you and Deb overlooked regarding that white Saddle just based on the first photo you used on the video: the glazing is a little too thick, literal microns the tip of the front strap that doesn't have the D is not symmetrical, one side is "flatter" than the other by, again, literal microns Is literally the smallest details that can give it away because for better (anxiety management) or for worse (cases like this) most people are not used to noticing these kinds of details, and on the opposite side of the spectrum sometimes the fakes are too perfect compared with the real thing
Yeah I am absolutely too nervous to spend on pre-loved. These scammers buy the real ones, and fake ones, and sell the fake as real with real receipts etc so it makes it believable.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the*preluxz* as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
eBay now does authentication. The bag gets shipped to them and after the authentication is complete, the bag is shipped to the byer. Authenticating the bag from pictures is not a valid authentication. It is important to see the bag in person. The certificates from on-line authenticators are not accepted as valid if you ever need to dispute an authenticity claim.
@@ameliarosescloset Yes. I mean if the on-line authenticator deems it authentic, it is not considered proof that it is authentic if someone claims it is not authentic later.
@@seabreeze4559 That is one of the reasons. Another one is that materials are different between super fakes and authentic bags. You can't tell from the pictures. You have to touch and smell the bag. If glazing and glue are used, they will be different between fakes and real bags, but you can't tell from the pictures. Newer LV bags have chips now. In-person authenticator can do a scan to find it and read it.
You’re absolutely correct, I have bought 2 Gucci bags from eBay and they were sent to EBay first to be authenticated. I already had one a bought a Gucci in Florence and I wanted different colors and they are stunning. I tried buying another one from EBay and I got the money refunded because they received it was ruled as a fake. They are working hard at getting counterfeit out of their site.
I’ve never bought a used bag and I don’t think I will. I’ve heard too many of these stories lol. 😢 I rather spend the money and have complete peace of mind.
Great tips. I tell people to get things authenticated too. Thanks for sharing and being willing to go the extra mile before sharing this company with us.
There was recently a law suit on authentication, Chanel sued What goes around comes around in New York saying that the only one who can authenticate Chanel bags are Chanel and no-one else. They won that law suit. The what goes around store can not use the phrase "100% authentic guarantee" on any of their pre-loved Chanel bags. I completely agree with them, I would never trust an "authenticator" and I think their "certificate" is just their opinion on a piece of paper, it doesn't mean anything. If you buy pre-loved you take a chance and hope for the best, it can never be guaranteed.
i got a fendi on ebay and it was fake--could not tell, but it fell apart. :( So sad. If it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true. That's what i learned.
My fear is how do we know the authenticators are well versed in saying if something is authentic or not. For example apps like Vinted- how do we know the authenticator actually is qualified and we are trusting them. I suppose the risk of buying second hand
Fab video love. As you say it just shows that someone like me with erm 30 years experience of buying bags can get it wrong! So it’s fab to have this authentication service to give comfort one way or the other. I was so surprised with the result - the details were very very good. X
Great video, thank you! Just submitted some photos of a preloved Chanel bag I recently bought (using your 15% code 🙂) and it came back within the promised 2 hours as authentic. Really good service and so worth it for the peace of mind 👍
Not sure if you post about Dolce and Gabbana purses. I got scared on a Devoltion purse. It was on Mercari, I asked if it was real because I questioned it. I've tried to get ahold of the seller and Mercari with no response. I'm very mad about it!!!!
Preloved goods are not luxury. They can be very nice and I have bought plenty, but it's not a luxury experience. Going to a boutique and choosing a brand new beautiful bag with an amazing brand new smell, being offered a glass of champagne, and watching them wrap it carefully and thoughtfully - that's luxury!
You mentioned that you were working behind the scenes with them for 2 months and that you had some things you didn't like about their service, like their website. Did they take your suggestions and improve the issues?
Anyway you spend your hard earned money in vain. Have you heard of Dior production scandal? Where a bag at Dior shop was 2600€ in fact cost 53€ in production.
