A scammer called me about a "healthcare" program. I keep chickens. I put the phone down in front of a chicken and she wouldn't stop clucking into the phone.

She was so happy to receive money she called me crying, it broke my heart to tell her shes most likely been scammed. She watches your videos now and shes more aware of scammers. The second I saw the icon about chicken in the background I knew embarrassingly that this was a fellow jamaican.

The publishers clearing house scam happened to my 80 something year old great grandpa (retired police officer). He was on the phone with them for hours. They told him he was gonna get a Mercedes. He told them what he was gonna do with the money. He told them what color his Mercedes is gonna be. But then they asked for money. So he didn’t believe it. Long story short they said they need money and they Will be on the way to his house in a van. He told them “my son in law is a cop and he will meet you outside” and they got scared. He didn’t give them money and that story was a funny family story on how he actually scared them by telling them is son in law is a cop.

We need more Mr. Chickens 🐔 everywhere ...

These scammers are a gift that keeps on giving: through them I have reported dozens of mule accounts to the authorities, many of which are actual victims acting as mules... good stuff!

As a Jamaican, I would like to express our embarrassment in these ridiculous schemes 😭😭😭😭

By far the funniest one yet. I am from Jamaica 🇯🇲 The scammer is 100% Jamaican from the “Hegg” and “happle”. Scammers like him are usually from the rural areas where there are few opportunities. It’s a sad reality and scamming is usually seen as the only way out.

I've had this before! Funny enough it was for legit customer service. I called a rep for one of my college textbook publishers and the woman was very obviously foreign. In our 1 hour conversation I heard this chicken about every 2 minutes or so and it was just like this. I can attest that holding a professional conversation with a rooster in the background is an interesting experienc. 🐔

I had an investigator that works for Consumer Protection tell me that People who get called from scammers and telemarketers this is what they need to do : They told me do NOT answer the calls period if U dont kno the number , let Voice Mail or an answering machine pick it up and then block the number . In the state where I live it is illegal to call cell phones if ur a telemarketer and the person is on a do not call list .And I am on a do not call list . But there still are those that get thru , and I have got sum weird and rather creepy voicemails they all get blocked . Stay safe all y'all and NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFO ABOUT URSELF . It keeps U and ur family safe .

During the pandemic I spoke to someone in customer service who was working remotely. They had chickens too. They were a legit CSR for Sears.

one specific sign that scammers talking to you: no matter you are a girl, a woman, a boy an old man a chicken an animal a lime tree , etc. , they always call you sir, from the first conversation :D

Right after the start of the pandemic, I had to call the Louisiana Secretary of State's office to update corporate registration information, as I couldn't get it to work online. Calls were forwarded to people working from home, and the lady I got lives on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. She was working outside when she took the call and I could hear farm animals in the background. I thought it was adorable.

I hope all scammers get in touch with Ben so we could have a good content.

Lol, I was able to tell that the scammer was from the Caribbean ( most likely from Jamaica) when I heard "E as in Hegg". They also said "HI R S." In the Caribbean, many of the islands (including the one I live on) have a lot of feral chickens, so roosters crowing is a normal background noise during phone calls.

I hope the chicken survives after you kept mentioning him. I am worried that chicken has laid his last egg.
