Fauna's soothing yandere voice telling Mumei "that's civilization, right?", and "all you need to know is that nature loves you" is my latest nightmare fuel.
Well, after witnessing all the blood sacrifices, experimentation on humans, human trafficking, and other nasty shit we've done, who wouldn't want to forget?
Yeah, that makes sense. Mumei is allegedly the culmination of humanity's progress as a species, but she's also relatively young and impressionable (Compared to the other concepts) and has a mind of her own. Humans, throughout our history, have committed many heinous atrocities and have always tried to destroy each other, so her subconscious is likely filled to the brim with all the terrible things we've done in the past, and her forgetting it all is the only way for her to maintain her sanity and mental well-being. We're basically responsible for her amnesia and potentially all the pain that she's been through. Honestly, it's no wonder why Fauna wants her to leave us behind and to return to her.
Well, I have a headcanon that everytime a Civilization falls through time (Rome, the Greeks, the Macedons, etcetera) she tends to forget them because she "failed" to guard them and forgetting that makes it a little less painful
thought of the same thing..my headcanon is that the changes in her personality end up being extreme she ends up like a different person (or owl) and the memories of her previous personality ends up being heavily fragmented and mostly forgotten..
Mumei stumbling upon mother nature's horror and Ceres covering it up with some 'good things' to distract mumei. Mumei's trembling in fear and Ceres is just "Well anyways"
HOLOLIVE LORE ADDED: The reason why Mumei is forgetful because she wanted to forget the horrendous events of her 'civilization' aspect... her self-amnesia was intentional.
That one sentence made me think that mumei forcefully tries to forget about past stuff cus its sad and all but ends up burying some happy and important memories too
I love how Fauna calmly talks down to acts of civilizations and always reminding Mumei she's welcome with her. She's slowly trying to take her away like how nature slowly tries to take away civilization XD
after Calli point out Fauna has that "ASMR S-sound" I really starts to picked up on it, swear to omega this is some kind of nature trap to reject civilization
*All you need to know is nature loves you and always be here* For some reason when you always hear this line over and over again this is starting to sounds like a threat now 😅
This raises an interesting question- if a person makes a sacrifice for a bountiful harvest, does Civilization grant the boon, or does Nature grant it? -- If it is Civilization (because this is an act done by humans), then how come the harvest is plentiful? The growth of vegetation would be more in accordance with nature, but the sacrifice wasn't to Nature, it was to Civilization. -- If it is Nature, why would Nature grant the request of a human? That would fall under the category of Civilization. Even the concept of sacrifice and farms is of humans and thus a product of Civilization.
Don't think too much probably ,The sacrifices(Civilization) are to trade with HIGHER BEING (nature )for rain and bountiful harvest .If you add a third person and think about it u will get it and by third person i mean like (god, allah,) Fun fact : The god that Christian, Muslim and Jews worship are actually the same god but as Time passes ,Civilization advanced and history passes those story and tales that can only be pass down by mouth to mouth became more blurry and unstable and Jesus 's actual name is Yahshua not Jesus
Humans in a strange way is part of nature and the places we live are ecosystems in a way, some observations I made during COVID made me come to this conclusion: wierd weather anomalies when we stopped flying and the strange behaviour animals started exhibiting in cities when everyone effectively locked themselves inside
It's Nature. Your sacrifice returns to Earth to trade with bountiful harvest, which in the end--will return to Earth, while Civilization is just a mere method/ritual/medium that human peforms for they believed that it's the way to converse with Nature.
Fauna: It's okay Mumei you can forget. Is this...lore? Are you saying the reason Mumei forgets things is not that she possess too much knowledge. But since she is not an extraterrestrial being, she's seen horrible things unimaginable to us. So much so that she unconsciously forgets things? Fauna being the mommy she is, comforts her constantly giving her a false sense of security. A bubble she builds around her knowledge
