I made this Scarlet Macaw Whirligig for the Whirligig Wars 2015 contest,I found it hard to build and it took one completely different idea that totally failed before I made this one.It is all made from bits I had around the shop.
I got the idea for the mechanism from Blisskolb Channel • Bird Whirligig

Slowvannah Farms thank you,my idea was to have it set up outside with the trees as the background so it would be like it was flying in a forest but the weather here has been awful so I couldn't do it!

Yes it looked like the easiest type of whirligig to make I seen a video thats in the description under my video on another channel thats where I got the mechanism idea.
