Scarlet Witch Solo Movie? - Doctor Strange 2 SPOILERS Breakdown 

Anyone else just kinda want Wanda to be in Agatha: House of Darkness and a scene is just the two of the sipping tea, catching up while talking about what they read in the darkhold like a book club? No? Just me then...

Even thought the movie wasn’t a 10/10, I do think Wanda was a 10/10 in performance. We need her back in the MCU.

Absolutely loved Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal of Scarlet Witch in this film. She absolutely killed this role…. And everyone else too 😅

I definitely think Wanda will appear in the Agatha show. “You’re gonna need me.” “If I do, I know where to find you.”

Wanda's "death" was very similar to Hela's death. When they were crushed, a flash of their energy appeared. So I'm confident both are still alive

Not a solo movie, a trilogy. Scratch that, give her 7 movies. The same goes for Doctor Strange. Yes, I am a little biased.

I can see Agatha, free from the corruption of the Darkhold, building a Witches Coven with the Scarlett Witch. Becoming that teacher role she is in the comics & having a group that rivals the Sorcerers.

What i loved most about the movie was how they showed how much alike wanda and Stephen are they are both lonely and want love and can break any rules or realities to get what they want . wanda in this movie was exactly like dr strange in what if they are both extremely powerful people who are desperate for love . Can't wait to see what marvel does with them.

I don’t get how a someone who’s directing a movie about someone doesn’t go and watch their tv show or read any of their comics. You’d think that’s their first step before creating the movie. I’d watch everything she’s been in from the marvel Universe before making her movie so I can understand everything she’s been through and use that to make the movie fit her like butter and toast. Edit: movie was so damn good tho!

A solo movie is a great idea. They can adapt how Billy and Tommy were born in the 616 universe and look for her mother. It can also introduce dr Doom.

I think Sorcerers are more cosmic and witches are more mystical. That’s how I understand their powers. The sorcerers borrow magic while witches are born with it

I REALLY want her to have a solo movie. Especially after when the mountain fell you saw a big red glow fly out of the mountain. Aka SHE’S alive. How has no one noticed this????

I'm so glad someone else immediately thought of how similar Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper are to Wiccan and Hulkling... part of me is a bit worried that, by the time Wiccan and Hulking show up, it may Read as 'copying Heartstopper' (the classic John Carter problem) but whatever, imagine just how amazing it will be to argue over MULTIPLE mainstream queer romances on movies/ TV (and yes, Joe Locke as Wiccan and Kit Connors as Hulkling would be great! We know the chemistry works beautifully)

I wish we would have seen Wanda truly try to help America Chavez and then realize that her powers could help her find the boys. Then we could have seen her be tempted and slowly turn evil through the Darkhold. I felt like it was very jarring to see her here based on where we last saw her in WandaVision. I think if we saw more of her downfall it would have been a bit easier to understand her reasoning.

Even though Aaron Taylor-Johnson is doing Kraven right now, I kinda hope that if they're bringing Wanda back, that they bring Pietro back as well. I miss the twins together (Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver).

When the Wandavision theme chimed, it made my heart melt.

I want Wanda to be an anti-hero. A side effect of her power should be constant bad luck. Sure she can do amazing things with her power, but her weakness is she is constantly punished for it. And as a result, she struggles to be good.

Wanda survived that. Remember when she went out of that mirror dimension looking dislocated and wounded yet her chaos healed her in an instant then proceeds to walk normally like she wasn't the one from the ring or the grudge.

I loved how Agatha said she was “forged” and that metallic rock of Wanda in the temple was making you think just that

I love these ideas!! Wanda is still the character I care the most about, and she's definitely my all-time favorite MCU character. I'd love to see her make an appearance in Agatha and have that spring off into a solo movie involving her grown-up sons.

I’d like to see Agatha’s tv series show how she got corrupted by the dark hold and then eventually Agatha trying to escape what Wanda put her in.

Scarlet Witch's story has always been heartbreaking. She's a tragic heroine who succumbs to psychotic breaks then redeems herself time and time again. Wanda's fate in "Multiverse of Madness" is an appropriate film translation of her printed history.

Seeing Wiccan on the big screen in the MCU is a dream of mine!! But I hope that if they introduce the twins as was done in Children's Crusade, they give each of them a chance for more exposition. Something I really wanted from the comics (and enjoyed in WandaVision) was their super-family dynamics. I hope the MCU can continue this path and give us lots of Wanda, Wiccan, and Speed (and Vision). Wanda deserves to be with her boys and I wish they'd find a way for them to exist in the MCU without doing the whole 'reincarnated into two boys in two different families' plot.

I was never really a fan of Wanda until infinity war & really started liking her more & more with every appearance. She’s definitely up there as one of my favorite mcu characters now with todays lineup of hero’s

She read the dark hold after wandavision so it would make sense that she further lost her self and thus is a much more dark and unhinged version in the film.

I think that indeed a big problem is the creatives not doing their homework and not watching what they should. Creatives and actors working in Star Wars admitted several times that they had to first watch Clone Wars or Rebels which are much larger shows, so I don't understand why it is so hard to do so for the few-episode MCU shows.

Grace, I think Wanda had a power upgrade recently in the comics. She absorbed the Darkhold. Weirdly enough, she and Doom were the only ones not to be corrupted by the Darkhold but her Avenger friends were. I think one of the reasons was because she was Chthon's avatar IIRC or maybe magic users in the comics have some sort of resistance or Doom and her were used to it. So as a plan to save her friends and prevent Dr Doom from ever misusing the Darkhold, she absorbed it. Also I remember the Darkhold cannot be destroyed (unlike in the movie) that's why she had to resort in absorbing it instead for safekeeping. Then at the Krakoa/X-men story, it was actually a big thing for Wanda as well, because one, she died but got resurrected with more knowledge than ever after speaking to her past and future self. And two, she has sort became a family again with Magneto and Polaris even though they weren't related. and three, she was forgiven by the X-men and every mutant in Krakoa for M-Day by reviving characters not recorded by Cerebro as well as creating a sort mutant heaven for them. I think there was an issue with the clones and resurrection in Krakoa if I rememebr, that while their minds and bodies are being resurrected, their souls weren't. And Wanda corrected that, so now the Krakoans have TRUE resurrection, with body, mind, and soul. I don't know how they'll adapt that but summarizing it here does make it sound convoluted lol.

The only difference I could see between sorcery and witchcraft was maybe that sorcery required calling upon outside forces to cast the spells. Like Strange having to "call on" Cyttorak to summon the red bands in Infinite War, or needing the cloak to fly. While witchcraft seems more based on your own inner power. And the visual distinction with how the sorcerers need (not always) those yellow glyphs, while Wanda and Agatha only had the wispy energy: made it feel like sorcery was more refined and controlled in nature, while witchcraft was more wild and "organic" (if that makes any sense). I don't know if that's the difference, if there actually even is any, but its a few things i noticed from the two.

I really think Scarlet Witchs motivations and actions made sense in the film- you could see how broken she was from losing her family- then to be corrupted by the darkhold- it made sense she was on a rampage.

I’ll take whatever they give us. Elizabeth is so freaking amazing in that role. Would love a solo movie there’s so much they could explore.

Absolutely love the idea of having it revealed that Wanda is still alive in the Agatha show, then having a movie about Wiccan and Speed being united with her. This would be so fun

Am intrigued about 838 Wanda. She apparently also has chaos magic powers, yet not as powerful as our 616 Wanda because she is the Scarlet Witch. Does cause me to wonder the narratives/What If's of all the Wandas (with this, specifically 838...how she has Billy and Tommy without the hex, is there a Vision in that world, if not, who is the father, or was she able to create them without needing a hex, yet the grief of Vision/love preservering was enough to help conceive them, etc? tons of curiousty/questions about her I have! lol). I adored how empathetic and loving she was..so although I grieve for our Wanda/want her back, I'm also focusing on that there are other great Wanda's out there. :D :)

She didn't remember her life prior to HoM in The Children's Crusade. It's basically Doom abusing her. Trial of Magneto was great in redeeming her character on the comics after the mutant genocide. And The Darkhold Alpha and Omega are all about her coming to terms with her past and ultimately defeating Chthon. You should read that

I’m not a big fan of her character direction here but I have to admit that she made an AWESOME villain. Still, I just want her to be happy. 🥺

"That's crazy I live down here" cracked me up 🤣🤣 when the movie ended I turn to my friend and told her "This is the perfect moment to make the Children's Crussade storyline I've been fanboying about with you for years" Wiccan is my 4th all time favorite Marvel character. Only beaten by Wanda, Jean and Storm. (I hope these last two have justice in films)

Even if this is the last we see of Wanda, I will forever be grateful that we got to see her, fietro, vision, speed and wiccan in their halloween costumes. I wish they would have done Wanda/Quicksilver better in the MCU, but I will always be grateful that they did that episode.

I love the concept of "buddy cop" adventure with Wanda and Agatha in a horror/mystic series.

This just came to mind… is the treatment of Wanda in DS2 similar to the way Daenerys was mishandled in the final season of GOT, suddenly becoming a one-note villain, seemingly ignoring or abandoning the character development throughout their previous appearances and becoming the “hysterical woman” trope?

I definitely think Children’s Crusade is the route they need to go! It could maybe even be the plot for a movie Young Avengers title slapped on it!

The whole time in the movie they never even refered her madness to all her hurting. As you said they made her look like a psycho and the part of her limping made me sad. Especially I noted her feet had been cut by glass and she kept on. I loved Elizabeth Olsen's role here. MCU messed up in being able to live to my expectations to what I envisioned of her 😭

Wanda is actually alive and redeemed at the end of the trial of Magneto storyline, Grace. It’s basically a one more day type situation for her. She and Magneto also rebuilt their relationship as well, even though she’s still not currently his biological daughter in the books. It’s so ridiculous that retcon hasn’t been undone.

This movie put way more context on why Agatha's coven tried to kill her after reading those forbidden spells. As we saw in this movie, simply reading from the darkhold once can corrupt you into doing the worst things possible

So I have a personal theory on magic in the mcu. It all seems to be color based and that might help point out what is sorcery versus witchcraft. I believe the color and type of magic is all about the source. 1. Eldrich magic = orange 2. Dark Dimension = purple 3. Witchcraft = blue 4. Chaos Magic = red 5. Cosmic magic (time stone)= green I believe any magic drawn from dark or demonic sources is witchcraft and any drawn for the old gods such as eldrich magic is just sorcery.

Grace this is absolutely one of the best reviews I’ve seen for the scarlet witch. The way you described her character in the movie and how she can make her return (because she is still very much alive) is great!

After listening to this I can see a good comics accurate future for Wanda. Shes my all time favourite superhero and a big part of the comics I read growing up with her is that she carries shame and regret for the things she’s done and is unpopular among other superheroes, specifically the Xmen, especially in childrens crusade and AvX. So now the movies can have her needing to earn back peoples trust and approval, which to me feels very much like comics wanda. Also Wiccan and Speed showing up to find her is a must!

Grace, here's way that Dnd (yes the games but its a good reference) categorizes magic users which helps. 1. Wizards are people who study and observes magic, 2. Sorcerers are people who are born gifted with potential for magic (usually attached to their bloodline) and 3. Warlocks are people who make pacts with other worldly beings to obtain magic/ power.

The movie was certainly “Madness”, but not too much of “Multiverse” as promos were stating. But still a great movie, I especially enjoyed Elizabeth’s performance, truly terrifying and amazing, can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

Elizabeth Olsen is.....The Scarlet Witch. And, IMO, the best villain character in the MCU. Basically she stop the carnage. She was not defeated. If her compassion didn't stop her, it would have been a bloodbath to the end. That's super scary.

Sorcery seems technical magic. Their abilities are stuff like swords and whips and stuff. Whereas witchcraft seems raw. Maybe sorcery is learnt. And witchcraft is natural.

My fave part of the movie is Wanda’s struggles with Scarlet. and of course the sound of horror fight scenes (hey if Shang Chi can do a dance fight - why not a sound fight); including Strange’s rise from the dead horror finale.

My favorite part about this portrayal of Wanda/Scarlet Witch was that she was scared. And she showed it. There were so many times when something would happen, and you could see the fear in her expression. AND THEN she figured something out super quick. What a wonderful nod to her intellect 🤩 i loved that!!!

Agatha house of harkness is already my most anticipated show, all the witchcraft stuff to me is the most exciting side to the mcu

I was disappointed with how they handled Wanda's character in the movie and thn I saw this online how Sam Reimi heard about this show halfway or maybe three-quarters into their writing process: "I just know that halfway, or maybe three-quarters of the way into our writing process, I’d first heard of this show they were doing and that we would have to follow it. Therefore, we had to really study what WandaVision was doing, so we could have a proper through line and character-growth dynamic. I never even saw all of WandaVision; I’ve just seen key moments of some episodes that I was told directly impact our storyline." this is ridiculous

I also found amazingly crazy how the lead actors of Heartstopper resemble Wiccan and Hulkling! I'm really hopeful for what's coming next for Wanda, she has reached a peak in her power really

My main complaint about Wanda was her not being redeemable in this film. I didn’t feel bad for her cause she was a horrible person, they should have showed her struggling with the dark holds influence over her

I think Liz Olsen is so good in this film that a solo film must be the next chapter for the Scarlet Witch.

I do think a lot of this is gonna be contingent on how long they can keep Elizabeth Olsen and how much time she's willing to give over to marvel. Post-Wandavision she's at the top of most people's lists casting wise and she might be in the race for another Emmy with her new miniseries coming out in October. I wonder if her 'death' here is to give Lizzie time to go off and do other projects because she's already been in the MCU for like 7 years now and before it was less of a time commitment with a more supporting role and she wasn't in the same demand as she is now. I think her showing up in house of darkness is pretty likely and maybe her own movie but idk if Lizzie's gonna still be wanting to play this role still like 3-5 years from now. Like as Wanda fans we'd obviously love that but she's a different type of actor than like Chris Hemsworth who will happily do action movies and play Thor till he's dead.

I think the next time we see Wanda is AFTER the Fantastic 4 movie, or at least AFTER they've introduced dr. doom. Maybe she made it out of the Wundagore ruins and was found by Victor, and just like the comics, she loses her memory and is about to marry him. But then Wanda's twins. (her ACTUAL twins) somehow come back into existence, and the whole plot of the potential Young Avengers (which would make a better Disney+ show than movie in my opinion) is basically the twins and co. trying to find Wanda before she ends up marrying Dr. Doom. And who knows. Maybe White vision will ALSO make an appearance, and he restores her memories.

I still love Wanda and I can’t wait to see her again in the future.

The more powerful magics, like conjuring portals or flying, is imbued in objects. It also seems that anyone can become a sorcerer, even if they’re not human. On the other hand, witchcraft is the traditional human magic, as it makes use of Latin spells and runes. While we don’t have an exact definition for it in the MCU, it does seem much more dark and powerful in nature. It also seems that witches are born with innate power which is what fuels their spells. The two are also visually different as well, since sorcery mostly appears as eldritch circles, while witchcraft is just unfocused energy of varying color depending on the user.

I feel like Scarlet witch sacrifice at the ending felt anti climatic,and she was only build up for one movie. I wish they continue to use her in some type of capacity.

Yes, if you'd missed Wanda Vision and only seen The Multiverse of Madness you would have a very warped view of Wanda/The Scarlett Witch. For all the stylistic flourishes of Raimi's film which I loved, there was definitely a lack of warmth and affection for the characters that I think has been the hallmark of the best of Marvel films.

I would really love them to go full antihero with her, like, she does what she thinks is right not caring about others With all that she’s been through she should just go solo

I get how ppl feel about her, but to me, she still was and is amazing, maybe Im willing to forgive her actions no matter what but still, KF just said she will continue, so she will be fine jaja. You should read Trial of Magneto! Wanda killed herself and framed Toad. Why? She needed to be reborn on Krakoa through the resurrection process so she could create the waiting room for mutants not backed up by Cerebro. She added 20 million souls to the waiting room. So now Krakoans love her and accept her. She reconciled with her father Magneto and her sister Polaris.

I think visually and directing wise, this movie is better than the first, storywise and pacing it was shockingly worse than the first one. It's cool to look at but the story felt a bit messy and they didn't try to developed America Chavez all that much, I just don't really find her that interesting which is ridiculous because she was the center of all this chaos and yet they sidelined her a lot to give more for Scarlet Witch. I would love to see more Raimi style to the MCU but wish that Raimi had a better script to work with. This movie should've been called Scarlet Witch in the Multiverse of Madness, it's more of WandaVision season 2 than it is a Doctor Strange movie
