I wouldn't go as far as to call it creepy, it was just a boring thing to say. Like Scarlet said, it's like a wetsuit there's nothing more to it. She most likely was wearing a very thin speedo of sorts, or even a thong. Not much different from what the guys wear underneath their hero outfits.

I don't even watch Marvel movies and even I understand the Black Widow character is really interesting, psychologically, politically, as a personality, as her own character etc. It's a shame that most people don't see that, because she also happens to be a woman. Her beauty is kind of part of her skillset, she has been conditioned to use it throughout her career, but that's certainly not all she is. How many hours of martial arts training and which styles in particular did you need to take to prepare you for the fight scenes? 2. How many injuries did you sustain during filming considering most of your fights were more acrobatic in nature than the other actors? 3. How much did you know about the Blackwidow character from the comics before you decided to play it? 4. Was there any particular scene that was cut that you felt should have been included in any of the Avenger movies and if so which one & why?
The worst part, in my opinion, is that even FEMALE interviewers stoop that low when they should know better. It's sad to see people who know the struggle be part of the problem.
Just here to remind you that women are also conditioned and socialized growing up to have internal misogyny so although I completely understand what you’re saying it is inaccurate to say we are part of the problem or that we should know better seeing as it is patriarchy, sexism, and toxic masculinity that’s groomed us to subconsciously believe that we are less than our male counterparts. And I do agree I see women interviewers do what you’re saying too however rather than criticizing us, realize that the misogynistic socialization all women experience is so detrimental that it is apparent in even the smallest mannerisms, like asking a fellow woman a degrading question during an interview. ❤️
That's also a sexist consecuence. The thing is that we're suppossed to compete against ourselves, you know... for which reason it could be... That created a social role. And since it's part of our education, it's not so easy to "choose". We all say or do sexist things some time. You acknowledge it happens to guys, but you don't do anything about it and talk about women struggling with it... And there lies the issue. You just instantly brushed it off and told me to stop, and said that women like Johansson get it worse. It's not about who gets it more, it's about stopping it doesn't happen to anyone, male or female. These questions are just silly. The kind of person who asks her if she wears underwear underneath the Black Widow costume is the same person who would be disappointed if she said yes… I’d rather get her opinion on who she reckons Black Widow could beat out of the other Avengers in a 1v1…
Exactly like I want to know how she prepped for the role and all the cool nerdy questions like who would she want black widow to 1v1 in the next movie or summ
1:55 noticing chris evans’ facial reaction, and the fact that he was about to interject and stand up for scarlett. + rdj doing it in the beginning = we love the men of the MCU.
if i heard that correctly , one of the interviewers said “so you probably don’t have the same body worries as the rest of us” if that’s not the most fucked up thing i’ve ever heard. she’s still human and she still has her problems, worries, and insecurities. no one should be talked to/treated like that
exactly! They treat her as if she isn't human. It's shameful that a woman would do that to her, too. And then there's the male interviewers, who will sit and ask blatantly sexist shit and then laugh at her as though she's the problem.
@@siennablack4690 yes exactly! i could’ve expected it from the men. but the women stooping that low to ask her these questions is shocking. it’s disgusting
it seemed the interviewer was so insecure. What did she expect? An actress to pat her on her shoulder and ‘there, there, you are really beautiful yourself?’
@@Kali-8 i’m not saying women don’t ask these same questions. but it’s more common for a man to ask these questions/sexualize women. i’ve seen multiple interviews were men have asked weird questions/ sexualized hollywood women.
"The sexy one." "Have you seen Chris Hemsworth?" I guess I'll mention the detail of Chris Evans when its literally said by 3 characters in one of the movies that he's got "America's ass." 🤣
I cannot believe this man thought that asking Scarlett about her underwear would not offend her. I think he could tell that what he was asking was inappropriate since he hesitated a bit before saying “undergarments” like that would sound any less unprofessional. He even seemed a little upset that she was offended, like dude are you kidding me??? Dumbest man alive.
_I’m a great fan of art. I love Michelangelo. _*_If I had the chance to talk to him or read about him, I would want to know about what inspired him to become who he is - the anatomy of his craftsmanship. Not about who he went out with last night, or why he decided to sit out in the sun so long._*_ ..._ - Michael Jackson That reminds me of this. Who asks _anyone_ about what underwear you're wearing? I wouldn't even expect that from the reddit incels
The thing is the people who interview celebs are asked to ask those questions to them and if they don’t there is consequences. I’m not defending what he said tho.
The men get such serious questions and Scarlett just gets questions regarding her body. It’s ridiculous because the Black Widow is such an interesting character with such a captivating history that we really don’t know much about, there’s so much room for an interesting question but because she’s a woman, her character isn’t taken as seriously.
It's disgusting how the journalists are catered to be allowed to make those questions for the female actors only. They should ban them before the floor is opened.
Well she also got asked serious questions and the males in Marvel movies also get asked a mixture of serious questiond but also their body, training, looks, fashion, etc. If you work on a movie like that your job is to look pretty and play well. Of course you're gonna get asked about both - no matter the gender.
The clip where they ask her about "fashion choices". Wow. A lot going on there. Her response is perfect, but I also watched the men around her. Cheadle was cracking up, Brolin actually turned around to enjoy the full smackdown response, Pratt looked slightly uncomfortable for her and Bautista looked ticked off for her. The best was right at the beginning where Downey pointed at her because he knew that she was going to light it up. There's a lot of respect and pride there for a strong woman from the actors who know her.
the problem is that they don't realize their being a sexist, like Scarlett's patience in dealing with this shit is just amazing. Edit: 😮 OMG! THE MOST LIKE IVE GOTTEN IN FOREVER! TYSM FOR SO MANY LIKES!😄 and I'm glad y'all agree with my statement😁
Frigging love how she comes back at the interviewers with snarky responses. "Really, have you seen Chris Hemsworth?" Her male castmembers seem to know that she is going to get these questions and are ready to watch her respond. She is very funny and fast but it has gotten to the point where it's just absolutely insulting now.
A person who is more composed, well grounded, professional and keeping it cool is what makes a person better on how to handle these type of questions or any situation. It makes sense why Scarlett why she struggles with relationships in her private life that lacks stability.
Media is weird. Journalists, both male and female only focus on what sells and they objectify female "fictional characters" the most for this sake. It's stupid and reduces depth in character's actual purpose AND it objectifies people who play them and it's creepy. Sexism is sexism no matter where it comes from.
