Thanks for the review. I think you're the only secondary media source that actually mentioned the play-time. Onward to 200k. All glory to the algorithm.
I’m loving your reviews after completion. I’ve been interested in this one, but I will get it when it’s a bit cheaper. Doesn’t sound like anything I need to run out and buy now.
The game seems to have potential and I hope the future title can improve on it... Although the 8 hours mark is a bummer for many, if the overall experience is good but 40$ is bit much considering it's a AA title for my region... I would buy it around 20-25$ for this one...
In your Remnant review I wondered if you played this one, turns out, you have, I truly admire the lengths and hours you put into your reviews, I know no one who has the level of dedication you have to have a thorough review, you absolute legend, I bought alot of games after your reviews, so cheers heaps for all and everything
I feel you. I just hit 100 hours in Elden Ring and it's taken me 5 months... Still a long way to go too. Mind you I'm loving the experience but I'm excited to move onto other games

Game was on sale for pre-order, so I grabbed it based on the strength of the demo. Took about 12 hours to finish (the last boss was a doozy on Moderate for me), but it was a lot of fun. There's not enough of these "explore, do some combat, solve some puzzles" shorter, AA games out there, and Scars Above was a well-crafted one with some neat ideas. It's also doing a lot of homages to System Shock 2, which is always a neat thing to see.
It's on sale atm for £27, is it worth it mate? I've spent a lot if money recently so need to calm done but I'm looking for any good SP games with a decent story, I'll go on your recommendation, happy Easter to you and your family from bubblin Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪🤝🇬🇧🤝🇫🇮🤝🇮🇹🤝🇸🇪🤝🇰🇷🤝🇮🇩🤝🇷🇸🤝🇹🇩🤝🇭🇺🤝🇦🇺🤝🇯🇵🤝🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸 wherever you are on this clown world 2023 brother 🙏
@@greengrugach1984 If you like sci-fi thrillers, it's a solid title. It's got a bit of everything, as you're not just shooting stuff all the time (although the elements-based weapons are a neat idea), you've also got to solve some puzzles to progress, and there's bits where you need to do light item manipulation (like the Resident Evil games). Basically, if you like the old-school design of "do some combat, do some puzzles, some cutscenes, rinse repeat", it's a good pick. It's nothing earth-shattering, but just a solid game with a decent sci-fi thriller story. Gave me vibes from System Shock 2, as well as the movie Cube 2, due to some aspects. Thanks for the wishes, all the best to you as well.
Excellent review as usual! I’m currently playing through this game and I’m only up to chapter 3, I haven’t gotten the acid weapon you mentioned yet. I’m loving the atmosphere and the feel of this game. Pretty immersive exploring that alien world and I enjoy the feeling! I do hope they put in a new game plus because I’d love to run through it all again once I’m done and being fully upgraded.
your integrity is so awesome. you always mention sponsorships even when you dont have to. i finally have a safe place to stay now. i used to put your videos on on my phone beside my blanket when i was homeless cause your reviews and analysis are so calming and help me sleep when i was scared to be alone. i'm really glad to finally be able to repay your awesomeness by becoming a patron. keep being yourself and you deserve everything good that happens in your life, because your videos helped me get through a really rough part of mine.
I saw a popup on Steam about this game which got me intrigued. So I was looking for gameplay/review videos about i before buying it and your video came through How can you finish a game so quick 😮 but in any case, thank you for this vid !
Thanks for this, you just saved me the price of this game. On surface before release it did look good, but with 10-12 hrs when stretching it for 100% completion it's not for me. So sincerely thank you so much for this extremely helpful review..
Is the voice acting any good in this game? it looks like a good game to try out. And thanks for the review, just what I needed to decide whether to buy this game or not. So it looks like I'll get it when the price drops a little (because of how short it is).
Love your channel and crpg’s - wondering if you’ve played Colony Ship and what you think. I don’t think it’s fully released yet. I played through the first two areas when they were released and I’m waiting for the full release to go back to it.
He has at least one video on it, and it's popped up in some of his "top 5" videos too. He's mentioned that he's really excited to 100% it once it releases fully.
This sounds extremely similar to Returnal: just a few guns, alien environment, linear progression, even the "radar" that can be triggered is similar to Returnal and Horizon. Speaking about Horizon, the element effect on enemies is basically the same as Horizon (logically and visually). That being said, I love how weapons and environments blend together (e.g.: freezing water). Movement definitely its not its strong point but you can see past it after some time. It definitely is a bit on the pricier side given how fast it is.
I loved this game, warts and all They could have easily had a new game plus though. If they made knowledge cubes more rare so that it took two playthroughs to max them out, similar to nodes in dead space.
Reminds me of Remnant from the Ashes, which was amazing (and highly recommended), however this one seems a bit simplistic in terms of progression. Length, movement and hit boxes sort of concern me, and I am a progression player and enjoy RPG elements. Given all that, I think I'll wait. The art direction looks good though.
this one will be digital since it is $35 on psn in my region but i am willing to wait a few months to see it around the $20 mark and get it, tried it on pc and loved what i saw, but as many said, it is nothing to run and buy but seems fun and moody.
game is on sale on xbox right now. was curious if it is worth picking up. seems like it is worth it for the 13 bucks it is right now. i hope they add a new game plus because i like going through games multiple times. ill grab it tonight after work.
From the review and footage, seems promising, but I can't take the stock unreal engine look it has. From the animations to textures and materials.. it all feels very unreal. I'd love to see what the devs could come up with a bigger budget.
8 hours is perfect .i for one have not got time for 20 hour plus games anymore ,when most of the time is silly side missions that get boring real quick .
I really enjoyed the demo but got the impression from other reviews that the rest of the game had severely dropped the ball. This shows me that isn't the case, so I'll definitely plan on getting it eventually. Might wait for a sale though, since it is pretty short.
If you did 100% in 8 hours, I suspect I would probably be 12+ hours. Halflife was a similar length and that was fine. No need for extended stuff if the game/story is satisfactory.
Simple, IF a certain game is a blast and is a rollercoaster of thrill where story and action goes through ups n downs with nice pacing, mechanics that feel fluid and intuitive, atmosphere keeping you invested, then 8 hours is really all you need. Most people are fine with this IF the game hooks em and 40$ is a fine compensation. Now, if you want a game that moves you in circles through the same 3 areas, is a collect-a-thon, throws time wasting fetch quests and gives you items n gear that are 1.5% stronger than the current ones you have and gives you a shallow sense of progression? Maybe stick with those games that drag for 100s of hours with little to no sense of accomplishment. Its like comparing a nice slice of chocolate cake to a pillow case of potato chips.
@@CRTglow Given that £40 can feed a family for a week I'd say anyone who thinks that any entertainment, with no replay value and very limited content, is worth that price tag must have an abundance of disposable income, no responsibilities or have questionable priorities.
I was playing this game and thinking, how Scorn could've been good if they went for something like this. They have similar premise: you awaken in strange corrupted world and you gotta explore it to survive. But Scorn is the embodiment of junk and slog. So I was absolutely amazed how good Scars is.
I was already hooked after the preview video, but now I definitely want to play this game. A game you can finish over a bit more free weekend actually sounds cool (in particular if you have baby incoming soon), however, not for current price. It will have to wait till much better deal is on
Seems like a budget Returnal, but way more easier. The animations and characters faces reminded me of ME Andromeda, which is not a good thing. Thank you again for another detailed review. I will not play this as it seems to be just an Okay game, can't really afford to lose time with it when there are great games in my backlog.
To me the environments give me Returnal vibes and the bossfights remind me of Kena : Bridge of Spirits because of the yellow/red marks that show the bosses weak spots.
How the hell do you finish so many games so bloody quick, I have a 150 plus game backlog and because I've started them and put 20 hours in often I can't be bothered going back and even less so starting again, I've either forgotten the mechanics and/or whats even going on, I buy a game then another one comes out, its rare I stick with one, I did with Deadspace remake (bloody epic remake, best remake so far imo this gen), but Hogwarts I've not gone back for example, any advice from my fellow gamers would be appreciated, respect from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪🇬🇧🤝🇫🇮🤝🇮🇹🤝🇵🇹🤝🇳🇴🤝🇰🇷🤝🇭🇺🤝🇦🇺🤝🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸 happy Easter folks.
@@DV-ou1yu if only I could mate, I'm like a magpie "ooooohhh shiny" all the best brother, any recommendations on more games I could get that are underrated or under the radar? Thanks a million 🙏
