As I play with it I find more great things about it.
This is a great little SCART to HDMI device. It feels a bit cheap in your hands, but remember, it will properly be living behind your TV with all the other wires, like a bowl of spaghetti.
I test the device on a PS1 hooked up to a Sony Bravia Android 55".
When I moved away from the screen the picture wasn't as bad as I thought up close at first.
This is a fantastic device to convert any analog input to a digital output. I'm so glad I now have this in my digital life.
Now it's time to find all my old analog consoles and show my little one what real gaming is.

I tried this one with my GameCube using a full RGB SCART cable but the image was completely washed out with a lack of contrast. Couldn’t even see or read everything on the screen especially the whites. Looks like the composite cable you use for your PSX doesn’t have that issue. Gotta check if I have a cable like that as well :-).

I really need SCART/ HDMI converter to safe my old VHS treasures to digital form. There is also way much more expensive ones on the market, and the very good question is, that are they any better than cheap ones. That cheap one in your video seems to do the job quite well.

Yeah, ive found over time that they all pretty much do the same thing. Apart from 'Easy Cap' s. I've found them to create more problems than their worth...

I receve all the data, souns and video vis the HDMI. I've not hit any issues. Let me know if it works out for you!

I read a lot that HDTVs with a built in scart plug have a much better video quality than these converters. Since my old FullHD TV with real Scart doesn't work anymore I hoped I could use a converter on my new TV for my Super Nintendo. Does anyone know of a good converter that gives you a good signal? It seems that those cheap ones don't work very well. They get you a picture and you can play, but the quality isn't very good.

I think you will find your old TV has a prossesor upscaling the signal. You wont get better that a TV's built in processor. On that not, use this or silmaler device on your new TV and if you go into the TV setting for that one port/channel I'm sure you can add some prossesor power to put behind this cheap converter.

I purchased one of these so called Scart/HDMI converters for my Sega Saturn, and when I connected it with a high quality Scart cable to it, turned on the TV... the picture was in black and white. Can anyone out there tell me what I did wrong? Great picture but again no color.

I'll have a think about the colour issue. Usually, it has to do with the auto NTSC, but saying that your image usually is unstable if that's the case. Emmm. But I have a converted I've not reviewed (Lost my Satun controller lol) yet, especially for the Saga Saturn called - "KAICO HD Saturn HDMI ADAPTER" Available on Amazon - I hope that helps you!

Sould do. Its the devide that emulates 720p or 1080p. Might not look amazing as it can only work with the data pimutted into it. Just sit back from the screen as The PS1 wasn't great sat up close but when I was on the sofa it looked good. Let me know what it looks like if you get one :)

Habe genau diesen Konverter an meinem Grundig Tv und das Bild ist eine Katastrophe.

Tut mir leid das zu hören. Bei mir funktioniert es gut. Denken Sie daran, dass alte Konsolen auf HD-Fernsehern nicht besonders gut aussehen. Sie werden nie das gleiche Bild einer CRT bekommen :(

@@Dax79 Ich habe noch zwei alte DVD Player und drei Videorecorder die ich so noch nutzen will. Das Bild ist nur bei einem DVD Player einigermaßen okay. Warum es beim zweiten nicht so gut ist kann ich mir nicht erklären. Das es bei den alten VHS Recordern nich so gut ist hatte ich befürchtet.

Looks like the piece of junk i got off of Ebay. If so, it doesn't do RGB. Thus it won't work with the Commodore 128 in 80 column mode.
