@@docd3142slipknot is the biggest group of corn balls I couldn’t imagine being a full blown adult walking around in that stupid ass costumes thinking you’re scary that cheesy ass scream sounds like an old guy cumming UHHHH 😂😂😂😂
Me too. That's defo a character building situation, I feel bad for them, but they have really built themselves up and there hard to compete against IMO. My all time fave band ATM.
@@carolinecoy3164 I can’t believe people are that fucking rude, I loved hearing them say they’d love to put all the shit they had thrown at them into a canon and just blast it back at the audience and walk off, I’d love to be there for that 😆
“Our band that we liked screwed us over so now we will take it out on a band that had nothing to do with it and just want to play” this is why people don’t like us guys.
@@BaioWithMayoeing annoyed doesn't give you the right to act like an arsehole though. If you take issue with an events headliner pulling out, contact customer services/management. Dont throw objects at peoe trying to entertain you like an entitled spoilt brat.
@@Ellie_xo You would be surprised how much less that sort of shit bothers you after 4-5 days of partying and rough camping. It still sucks but unless you get the full bottle over you, you get over it pretty quick. Its still something only wankers do though.
Same thing happened to mcr, first time playing reading, they got bottled so bad so changed the set list on the fly, played through to the end, and said they'd never play reading again unless they were headliners because of the experience 😂😂
You should have seen what happened to them at download when they WERE main stage headliners. Korn with Joey Jordison were the headliners for the second stage and that tent could not hold the capacity of people that wanted to see them play. That set finished and I remember walking past the main stage to see about 3 rows of people watching mcr and thinking how bad the planning was on this. The next thing I see is two guys holding like some elastic belt type thing and a third with a bottle of water fashioning it into a makeshift catapult and watched this full 2litre bottle of water fly past Gerard ways head and thud off the curtain. At that point I left cos I had no intention of watching mcr but no animosity towards the band but from what I heard their set got cut way short after that.
I saw them live supporting machine head back in about 2010ish. They were bottled and booed then and I had no idea why, I thought (and think) they’re amazing. I’d always heard how metalheads are “family” but that night showed otherwise. Really glad they didn’t let it drag them down
@@user-nr2yl8ir1o hilariously I just got this notification as I started playing DArkSide. Glad to see I’ve still got the same taste as a year ago And it’s cos Aussie’s are awesome and friendly. Us brits can be a bit dicky
You're a damn great dude Oli....low profile but WARRIOR ...I was deep death/black metal and then 3 years ago I discovered Bring me the horizon......thanks guys .....for lot of reasons
@@Heretical I think the point is that those bands have cringe fucking fanbases who aren't self aware enough to realize their favorite bands are just as corny as the ones they hate. A7X fans are the worst of the worst about that. Never met one who wasn't aggressively autistic.
@@sophiecumbers2100 Yeah, but the Yorkshire accent isn't the quintessential "British" accent, is it? That would be like saying the Minnesotan accent is the "American" accent
Bmth has been my favorite band since 2008. The fact that this happened to them back then breaks my heart, but on the bright side, they're becoming a well known group to everyone else! I remember going to their concerts watching him perform Pray For Plagues, The Fox and The Wolf, all while in pink short shorts. Will never stop being a fan! 🤙🤙🤙🤙
I've been a huge fan since Sempiternal (forgot the year it came out) and they literally became 1 of my top 5 fav band of all time! They went from making the kinda of music that I dislike (anything pre-Sempiternal) to making the kind of music I love! (Sempiternal-present). That's The Spirit is still my fav album from them, followed by Sempiternal. Right now, BMTH are my #1 fav artist in the world. That says it all!
Actually an incredibly inspiration story. I always love hearing about character building experience. I like to think most of my life has been character building, and don't want it to stop. Pressure makes diamonds!
I was there for that, in the middle front, the problem was the front was made up of slipknot and A7F fans, there was a big group of guys in the orange boiler suits and masks. When they announced the swap it was so much worse the fact as all the "metal" fans hated anything "scene" and turned into almost a full riot. It was absolutely mayhem
@@daytonasayswhat9333 he’s not saying they got stabbed mate? He’s saying they got bottles thrown at them. You think he’s saying they all got stabbed on stage?
maybe controversial, but id argue bigger. theyve transcended the genre through collaborations and experimentation with their sound. maybe not bigger strictly within the metal scene, but they have a much broader appeal to the general population and act as a gateway into the metal scene for a lot of people.
@@pluginpanda No doubt bigger now, just sort of fell out the good graces of metalheads in the process. I personally love their new stuff, just in a different way than i love the old.
@@pluginpanda just realized you meant bigger than slipknot. Its arguable for sure. But everything you said also applies to slipknot when i was a kid. Big gateway band for most people
@@troyflood7077 oh for sure, slipknot was one of my early introductions, although id probably credit ice nine kills "the burning" as the album that really got me into the genre. but bmth for this newer generation has acted as a two way gateway which is cool. theyve exposed metalheads to poppier/edm/etc sounds as well as exposing the opposite to metal elements. i think youre similar to me in that as we grew up our taste in music widened/evolved and bmth did right along side it. i dont bash anyone for their taste but i do feel bad for people who are so close minded that if its not cyb/suicide season/tiah/sempiternal its bad.
This kind of thing would end a band usually. But these guys are like. Nah. Its character building. Wonder if they thought that at the time. 😮 Glad you guys stuck at it🖤🖤 AmAzInG bAnD🖤🖤
I know BMTH for about 10 years and what is scary is that Oli is a freaking vampire bc dude looks the same as back then when I started listening to them those years ago 😂
I was there and remember this, it was mental. But reading and download both seemed to go through a stage of everyone being bottled back then. Panic! And MCR i remember were bad too. Then fightstar at download. I’m glad that phase has died off now!
@@hate6crew6death6roll *you’re. And who cares my guy? Take a moment to think if you actually give a shit about this comment. If you do, why? Go outside. Get a hobby.
As someone who’s been around since “this is what the edge of your seat was made for” back in high school… it’s really been inspiring seeing these dudes go from pray for plagues to amo, and then circle back to koolaid. Mad respect to the whole band, over a decade later and they still got me looking for the next drop 👏🏼👏🏼. Well done buds
This band man they’ve been theu it!!! I’ll always remember the first time I saw them live with PTV taste of chaos Olly was hammered but man he still put on such a great show he climbed the pillars on the sides of the stage all the way to the top with a mic in his hand and hung upside down without missing a single note on any song! The man is pure talent and charisma 😂❤
I wonder if that people who did that now regrets it. I can't imagine how scared BMTH guys were. I'd love to hear them. I'd probably be mad, but I would not attack others because of that. Is not their fault.
Yeah if you look at a lot of the slipknot and avenged sevenfold fan base, they aren't really open minded and they were really angry, lost out on BMTH, I'm a fan of both metal bands but when BMTH came on the scene, I was absolutely sold. Loved them from the first moment. ❤
@@isaacbaker4338 I don't see why so many people get heated over this, it's like fighting over what your favorite color is. Sort of stupid if you ask me. Enjoy what you enjoy regardless of others thoughts on it. As for you, you're in the same boat calling things mid when its preference. It's childish.
@@codytheprick8554 this is true but sometimes it's almost whole fan bases that are a toxic pit of sludge. If you say anything regarding your opinion around specific fan bases it gets real weird real quick as if your preference or opinions has anything to do with their life, but they lose their sht since they've made the band or artist their whole personality or aesthetic.
@@KoiAi_ There's alot of truth in that. I live in Australia & I avoid seeing bands I like as I don't want to be surrounded by my generation of bogans. I want to hear the music, not the rough slurred voices damaged by the drugs they abuse 😂. It's perfectly understandable why musicians hate performing. I take my glasses off so I don't get triggered by an audience unworthy of respect. Makes it seem worth it afterwards.
I cannot believe they had to go through that and they still pushed through they’re music is bad ass and I don’t ever want them to go away or change it’s not very many bands like this anymore
I just went to their show for the first time. Have been a fan since count your blessings. They came here to buffalo, ny and oli said something about everyone waiting for fall out boy and I was shocked. I only came for bmth. I left shortly after. I think their music is not only amazing and has grown and matured along side me as a person, but the band seem like a bunch of cool dudes I’d just enjoy hanging out with. It honestly blows my mind when people aren’t as excited for them as I am.
I remember how the British metal scene was round then, might’ve been different everywhere else, but every metal head thought their preferred bands were best if you think different you’re wrong. BMTH was considered to be pussy metal, or metal for scene kids. Some people I knew considered them a diet suicide silence 😂 look at them now, fucking smashing it, making the best music they ever have.
So sad I missed bmth at the warped tour because they couldn't come to America due to passport problems at the time. I hope I still have a chance to see them live. But idk if they play older songs live anymore.
Reading festival has the worst crowds and worst community in any festival I’ve been to. My girlfriend was having a seizure during arctic monkeys last year and people wouldn’t move out of the way for her so she could get to the front and get security to get her to the medical tent
Reading festival is absolutely brutal! My first festival and I dont think I will go again. The crowd was so aggressive! And full of drugged up 17 year olds looking for a fight. Also a long time BMTH fan and I think it is sad to see people shaming them for trying something new. I love it when a band trys out something and loves it, you can genuinely tell they are passionate about their music. I went to see them at the 02 in January and its going to be a tough act to follow for anyone else I see. They were insane!!
