I can empathize with Raya. It's scary to feel unsafe and sometimes our bodies and minds just reach their limit. Adventures are fun but I can only handle short bits of this kind of intensity. I much prefer chilling & calculated risk in small doses haha good for you Raya! Truly a once in a lifetime adventure and I'm sure all kinds of stories to tell your family :)
I get stressed out even watching these so I really do feel for Raya.. I think especially as a woman, situations like these can be even more daunting. Anyway I’m so glad you made it to Costa Rica safely and can’t wait to see more wedding photos, so beautiful 😍
18:54 people are protesting because of the high prices of gasoline in Honduras. Sorry you guys went through that. Hope you can visit the rest of Honduras sometime in the future. Honduras is beaches, mountains, jungles, archaeological sites, gastronomy, living cultures, friendly welcoming people and much more. 🇭🇳
I'd probably be in Raya's boat as well. I love adventure but this is next level and just not a fan. Especially if I was with my partner, I'd had to get separated during such a chaotic time and not understanding the language. Hopefully you both can find a nice balance in the future where Louis can get his adrenaline junkie fulfilment and also Raya can do fun trips with her hubby. Congrats on the wedding! Been following Louis since the Tuk Tuk adventures.
It's absolutely fine to have different thresholds of stress peaks. One nice thing is how supportive you are of each other. It's also OK to have different adventures with different people. Don't be disheartened or disappointed with yourselves. You made it in the end ❤
Yeah I have to admit all this stuff would give me a nervous breakdown. I like travel but a bus journey through Central America is probably more than I could cope with
This totally reminded me of the old school fun for Louis vlogs! I can only imagine the stress level for Raya and understand that emotions would have been running high! Its probably best that the sensitive stuff wasn't filmed but glad you updated us at the end!
Poor Riya. I totally empathize. Poor girl. Happy she's all married now and happy! All those 'friends' are thieves but you did what you had to do and escaped with your lives. You guys are absolute legends!
Hey you two 👋 just found your channel and ive been bingeing your guys adventure with my love from the comfort of our bed in our own short bus. Weve Been full time for 3 years travelling most of the usa, but we have been parked for the past 6 months helping a friend whos battling cancer and lost on where to go next. 🧐 Weve been hung up on what our next chapter holds and i think youve inspired us to start the planning phase of driving down to costa rica and finding some land hopefully in an eco community such as yourselves 🎉 Thank you guys for tour shiny spirits as well the inspiration i needed❤
Louis's awareness of Raya is just so sweet and warms my heart. I am VERY much a Raya in my capacity for adventure and am so impressed with her ability to endure all of this and come out on the other side. Love watching all your videos and can't wait to see more of your wedding (assuming theres a vlog coming at some point :))
I cannot wait for your kids to watch the ups and downs of your travelling adventures one day! You guys are so dedicated to the vlogs despite all the challenges you face. Glad you're okay :)
In South Africa citizens also burn tyres etc across the roads as a form of protest but this causes damage to the roads. Love watching how Louis manoeuvres the bus
Been watching the travel adventures since 2014 on Louis’ channel and I have to say this trip is up there on the sketchy, nerve wracking scale! But I’m glad you guys are safe and enjoying married life in Costa Rica now ❤️ can’t wait for the rest of the series
Life is never simple! Was holding my breath when you were driving over that smoking road with your leaking diesel. I feel for Raya. With a wedding to plan you don't need too many dramas. Xx
Louis you are so sweet to understand Raya, that the stress can be too much! You truly are one of a kind, as is Raya. Her calm helps balance your high risk perfect match. Congratulations on your wedding, live and love long!
It's so interesting that your first reaction to the tyres is confusion. Yet to those of us from 3rd world countries we instantly understand it to be protests.Same thing happens in South Africa . It's amazing how our experiences shape how we understand and respond to things.
Fire and a Diesel leak 🤔hummmmm. That one on one talk you had with the viewers Louis was exactingly what we needed to hear, I would never have been able to put myself through what you guys are going through, especially just before a wedding, that being said I do understand the excitement and adrenaline rush, Louis ....... your just not normal😂😂😂. Best of luck guys and stay safe👍👍
OMGoodness...I felt so stressed out, but I just kept watching! Just glad to know from IG that you made it to Costa Rica and are now happily married...can't wait for the wedding vlogs. Congratulations...stay blessed and safe where you are
Please Please if you see something like that fire on a road do not run to it! this kind of fire is caused by people to block roads, this might be for political reasons or social reasons but it is never an accident and the people that make them tend to be violent, this type of manifestation are really common in south and central America. At least in my country (Chile) are called "barricadas" and are never a good thing, black smoke on the road is always a barricada hardly ever a car accident Congratulartions on your marriage!! Take care !!
Amazing video! Glad you got through safe and hope you enjoyed your wedding! Really happy for you both! I have been following Louis since the food for Louis days and am so happy for the both of you!
I was so scared watching the bus with the leaking diesel drive over the fire!! So glad you guys made it across the border. Looking forward to the next vlog with sloths!
@@nottheone582 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7soVqyGq4i4.html If you are curious this shows it quite well how difficult it is to light diesel on fire
That form of protest is really common in Honduras. In the future I would sign up for alerts from the US embassy so you can anticipate them. Hopefully you can visit Honduras again when you are ready and can see all the country has to offer.
I have seen many vlogs on driving a van or small RV thru Central America. But a schoolie. You 2 are rock stars and should have way more views on YT. Thanks for the epic video.
I’m sad you didn’t have a better experience traveling through Honduras! I spent 2 weeks there last year and had an AMAZING time! It’s really a beautiful country with beautiful people (:
What an intense travel day! That was some traffic jam! Lucky you were able to get into Nicaragua in the end. They require a PCR test for everyone, vaccinated or not. Hope the rest of your journey to Costa Rica went smoothly.
I'm tempted to say you must have been on the same traffic with Itchy Boots but she got her way out before getting there and I'm excited all my favorite youtubers are safe and crossing the same countries. Can't wait for your wedding video😍
Wow that's a rough experience, I'm sorry you had to deal with all of it. For your own awareness in case you haven't already experienced this also in Costa Rica, "tortuguism" (you can find the term used in The Tico Times and La Nación) does happen in CR as well. It's a common protest method to slow down traffic because tourism is so critical to the economy. I was last there in 2019, and there were a lot of student protests happening where they were holding signs while blocking bridges to bring awareness of the corrupt minister of education- there's even a wikipedia page about it. Taxes also increased in 2019 so there were a lot of discussions around that as well, but I've had only a peripheral awareness of Costa Rican news through my grandfather & other family since the pandemic, so I would just recommend paying attention to news around these topics in your new home! Pura Vida!
I’ve been doing the same lifestyle but I still wonder if it is worth putting others traveling with me at risk because let’s face it, outside most European countries and the USA it is utter chaos!! 🙌🏽
Hola Raya & Louis!! I just wanted to say that in this context “excuse me” should be translated as “con permiso”. I love that you guys are learning Spanish 😍😍
Welcome to Latin America, Dear, and also before a wedding is all full of tension. Now that all that is behind you by shure is all much better.💗🤗 Congrats on the wedding 🎉🤩❤️🍹
Bummer. I guess it’s important to do an inspection of a vehicle, clean the windows etc, before heading out. It defiantly cuts down on surprises on the road.
I don't want to downplay your feelings, but I sit in the office all day long and always wish I had challenges like yours every once in a while. I guess it's a matter of perspective.
