My heart breaks for all of these animals. It is unnatural for these animals to endure daily handling by multiple people. It’s a practice that needs to stop.
@@Smilefornana That makes sense. I go to Australia a lot for work, and only in Queensland and South Australia can you hold a koala....but the rules are basically the same. I prefer feeding the docile kangaroos at sanctuaries (they lip up the provided food directly from your palm, and their lips are so soft!!!), and my all-time favorite - the wombats!! But now I want to hold a sloth:)
Hi Tony. First, Danielle is beautiful like her Mother. Nice to be off the ship first! Very cool excursion with all the animals. Oh poor Jenny. I'm with you. I wouldn't want the iguana on me. $89. not a bad price for a ship excursion. Love guy's burgers. It's always fun to follow along on these adventures. As always thank you for all you do. Enjoy the rest of your time with the family. ❤❤
Norwegian and RC dock at a different location in Roatan - there are sloths within WALKING distance of that at a wildlife sanctuary!! $15 got us not only a sloth holding, but a monkey shoulder experience, birds, and on the way back an AMAZING stop at a bar overlooking the water! :) Best Coconut Shrimp I've had in ages! :)
I am a member of the ASTM F24 Committee for Amusement Rides and Devices. During our last meeting we were discussing if we needed a specific standards for amusement rides installed on cruise ships. Then the topic came up about the need for a standard that addresses excursions offered by cuisse lines. Though these standards are voluntary consensus standards, it would set the minimum requirements to ensure patron safety while participating in off ship activities provided by the cruise lines. Stay safe Tony!
Long time follower here, and this was my favorite video of all time on your channel! Loved the sloths! I also felt like i was there in Honduras. You have a great sense of humor and keep up the good work!
That price seems pretty reasonable considering what you got. That excursion looks like a lot of fun. I wonder what the animals think, though, about being passed around like that.
This looks fun, especially considering I’d never be able to go on some kind of hike, or wild tour due to physical limitations. I’d love to meet all these different animals, I’d be a little nervous, but would be happy at the end. Now I felt Jenny’s anxiety and that was kind of crazy that no one immediately took the iguana OFF HER HEAD! Tony gets a demerit for recoding it first lol!
I'm such a fan of Jenny B. So beautiful and kind, and Danielle is the best part of you both! So beautiful. This makes me want to visit Roatan. So colorful.
My cousin's wife is from Roatan so the last time I went there (on RC), we didn't actually have to pay for anything because her sister worked for a resort there & another sister cooked Honduran food for us. My godmother actually flies there at least twice a year on her own & went to see the sloths a few times.
I love the iguanas . We use to raise them along with my boys and you should see the face of people when you go to a drive thru with one on your shoulders . Ziggy and Zaggy were the two that loved to get out of their cage and climb their way up and snuggle up to my shoulders . They also loved the shower , We had a big farmhouse sink with a sprayer and I put them all in there . We had 12 at one time.
What a neat excursion. Those poor little guys ar the beginning were passed around like sports balls😅. The slothes look way bigger than I thought they would be.🦥 Are they heavy? Seeing as I am a turtle lover, I think the one in the bucket would be the highlight for me🐢
We were on this excursion with you, my friend sent me the video and said she watches your videos and wondered if you were on my ship then watched the video and saw me lol! It was a fun excursion.
Been to Cozumel and Belize on a different Carnival ship. Never been to Roatan, other than through your vids, I remember the iguana “attack” in ‘19. Would love to see it personally, thanks for posting a cool excursion
Wow! 100k views in 10 Days! That’s fantastic! Thanks for the great video, by the way! You’ve done a great job of providing informative videos and interesting vlogs and developing an audience that enjoys both!
Love checking out your videos every day and this one really gave me an insight to a Roatan. As I am doing my first ever cruise on the Carnival Jubilee in April next year it is really good to know and see what is coming up for me. Thank you again for doing this video and all your informative videos.
We paid $60 for a 5 hour tour with Routan Travel and Tours that included a two hour island tour, a one hour boat ride in East Bay, and one hour of escorted snorkeling. Yes, i thought that the whole process was worthwhile. They offered a one hour stop to see the sloths and the monkeys for an additional $15 BUT our time was very limited. What sucks about using a 3rd party tour guide is that they make you walk a 1/2 mile from the port to meet them. That was by far the best excursion we have paid for in a Caribbean port. Hopefully, we will gte back to Routan in early January.
It looks worth it to me. Guy's overcooks the holy heck out of their burgers. I totally get not offering medium rare or even medium, but they squash them and overcook them. It's almost like a beef jerky burger, which doesn't appeal to me.
Hey Tony, the carnival excursion looks very similar to the one we’ve done a few times there called Daniel Johnson’s monkey and sloth hangout. We had a blast with the sloths there.
We did a similar excursion for a bit cheaper with a third party, $60 a person and our 2 year old was free. The driver also took us into town to buy some local honey for no additional charge. Great experience, would definitely recommend if you're visiting Roatan.
Went on similar excursion in Roatan. Loved the sloth and monkeys. Was loving the macaw sitting on my arm until another macaw flew to steal the seeds being fed to the one on my arm. A flurry of feathers and a scratched arm later, I made up my mind for no more animals. I will gaze and look from afar. So, Jenny, I get it about the iguanas.
On my first NCL cruise, we stopped at Roatan. I saw none of this. We docked and were told there had been a mudslide and we couldn't leave the dock area. Some of us got off the ship and went to the tiny strip of shops. Some guys left the area and one got bitten by some random dog and ended up in the med bay. I have a stamp in my passport from Roatan, but not much else.
I paid 20$ to a random dude who had a sloth outside of the restaurant! It was a small sloth area and they only had the 1 sloth but I wanted to hold it!
Sure can tell those that are parents with the sloths, rocking them like you're holding a baby. 😊 Did they say why you can't pet them? You're looking and sounding great. Keep up the tough work.
Well, it appears we cruised with you and didn't even know it.. Just got off celebration 10/29 - 11/05..loved Halloween costumes and Lee of course. We did teppanyaki and steak house.. Love meal options... Sorry miss you!! Maybe on jubilee or somewhere.
I have been to Roatan once, plan to go back. The excursion with the Sloths, Macaws and Iguanas looked very interesting! I would consider doing it when I return. My lunches are more enjoyable because of your videos! ♥
On my last excursion on the first part of my back-to-back, our last excursion was canceled-Due to bad weather . 4 cargo cruise members did not make it😳😳OMG! It was the Amsterdam excursion and men were upset that they weren’t going to be able to buy pot and puddeeee😂😂😂😂This is Cruise411😂
I can't stand any kind of lizard!! I would have cried and had a anxiety attack( almost did while watching)! I'm so sorry Jenny B but if it helps....it helped me because I will stay on bus at that excursion.
We absolutely LOVED AJ's in Roatan! Sloths had been on my bucket list for year and it was worth it to go there and hold them!!! We also went to the same iguana rescue and I got to hold the 35 pound big boy iguana!
Tony you make a good monkey magnet, this video brought back memories of when I made the same excursion several years ago I enjoyed the excursion and would do it again.
I'm with Danielle, idk if i could go the birds. They would scare me. Thrir beautiful but lil scary. The sloths were just the cutest. And no iguanas for me, jenny was brave I would of freaking screamed ran around like a lunatic until someone got it off me or it jumped off. 😂 $89 i think thats a great deal compared to the cost of some these other excursions.
The excursion looked fun. Love the sloths and monkeys. I think it was worth the price for the comfort of knowing you'll be safe and returned on time. Two questions though... How do you feel about the abject poverty you see once you get out of the port area? That town you passed thru on the bus looked dreadful. We went to an all inclusive in Jamaica years and years ago and I'm still disturbed by the poverty and awful standard of living I saw while on a horseback riding excursion that took us off property. Second question...was this excursion available for scooter and wheelchair bound guests? You don't ever mention in your vlogs if your excursions are mobility challenged friendly. Please add that in a quick sentence or two. Thanks. Safe travels.
I definitely think you got your money's worth. The sloths were really cute, and it was nice tagging along with you in Roatan while freezing my butt off in Connecticut!
I had someone put a monkey on me and take my camera. He took several pictures and then asked for $20 to give me back the camera. That’s how I felt. It was intimidating. I was alone and didn’t have any smaller bills to even offer.
My family is on this cruise, they were the reason the ship left an hour late from Cozumel. They thought their phones updated the time but it was still on Texas time 😅
@tduck828 I wear a watch too. It's SHIP'S time, NOT the phone's time, which the captain reiterates over and over. They can be lucky they were not left behind.
I would have passed out if that Iguana landed on me! Not fond of the birds that close either. The Sloths look cute but I’d probably get the only rogue one and get an eye put out with one of those nails!!! Yes- I am a chicken!!!
Hey Tony and Jenny B. Pretty good price for that excursion but I’d have to pass on that one. Not touching iguanas, holding sloths or letting one of those macaws sit on my arm. But thanks for taking me with you on the excursion. Enjoy your cruise!
I took a cruise to Amber cove. Amber cove has the chocolate. You excursion excursion to die for you. Get to plant the seeds, you get to do it from the beginning to the end of making chocolate, and you even get to see the trees and eat the fruit which is chocolate
There's a Sloth at a local zoo, but it let's itself out of it's cage and goes around the inside of the building then goes back into the cage. I don't know if it's name it Flash.
