Scary flight to Jamaica | Thought we were going to crash

I was recommended under this video for my video of my first time riding a airplane

Wow what an experience. I wouldn’t want to be in that turbulence. Every time I go in a plane, I think that this is going to be the time we have really bad turbulence or that my plane is going to be the one that something bad happens on lol.

@@TheParchmentFam You have to change that thought process though, airplanes are actually safer than motorcars

So I’ve heard but it’s still hard for me. I think it’s the helplessness that I feel. In a car I feel more in control. But ultimately I know God got me.

MJ Fusion im a student pilot trust me turbulence cannot crash a plane, during turbulence us pilots are trained not to do anything bc the plane will sort itself out, if we did mess with the controls during turbulence it could mess up with our way of flying the aircraft it would create something called elevator illusion and basically it would make pilots keep correcting the plane when the plane can do it on its own every plane can so yeah this was no harm in the video.

I been on a plane Nov 1995 from UK to Jamaica on approach to Mobay the landing gear failed, we had to circle jettison fuel till the plane was empty then try crash landing.The back wheels came down but nose wheel didn't on approach to nose wheel, down 1/2 way but we landed safely. The pilot was brilliant all I was doing wassipping Dragon I coulda sell them for £50😂 That never stop me tek plane

Lol I would not want to hear that. But it’s crazy how they know how to keep calm in those terrifying situations and some of the situations we think is life threatening is nothing to them.

@@TheParchmentFam I understand what you mean. During moderate to severe turbulence the aircraft will either 'ascend or descend', depending on wind direction. In these sort of situations the pilot will correct this manually, or allow the aircraft to automatically regain what's programed into the FMC. Still, this looked like a mild one. Glad you landed safely though. I could tell you were going Sangster's before I saw the touchdown. Norman Manley is different (that's my airport when I do go back from London).

Ok got you. That’s why when the plane started to fall, it pulled back up so aggressively. It seemed as if the pilot pulled it up manually. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this. I will feel better next time knowing the cause of this situation

@@TheParchmentFam Another thing you should know is, you feel less of the turbulence when you fly by the wing. Those at the front and back feel it more, because of all the excessive shaking. Visualise it in your head and you'll see what I mean. Or, hold a pencil or pen in the middle and simulate the seesaw effect. Notice the front, middle and back. Front and back is going up and down more than the middle, isn't it? 😄

Oh my. That must have been scary. That’s why I’m not taking those long flights enuh. I always say that something is less likely to happen on a short flight than a long one and is less opportunity for turbulence to occur.
