@@bradenvester4308 im glad that truck driver was ok there was about nothing left on that thing after it was done flipping good to see he was at least still moving
Probably just trying to keep the crowd calm. Imagine if you just saw a guy in a car going 200mph, blow up, and then rollover. You’d be already shocked and upset about the drivers. (I’m not having a go at you btw just trying to explain why I think he said that)
The whole front clip was gone, if there's no frame that the engine is mounted on, then there's no engine. Probably broke the bolts on the trans or ripped the bell housing off, but it's possible. Enough force to rip the whole front off, will take anything with it that wants to go. But I'd say there are probably regulations on how the engine and trans are joined, at this level. You don't want the transmission to go anywhere, that's getting into the "passenger" compartment of the car, you don't want things coming apart there. And they're designed to break apart and or crumple to dissipate energy. It took em long enough and too many unnecessary deaths, but when they finally got off their asses to update safety regulations they've done pretty well. They've had scatter shields and bellhousings designed to not let clutch material enter the cab in the event of a clutch exploding for decades. But I don't know about side loads and impact regulations. I would say with a side load like that, the bolts would break or strip or the bell housing to transmission bolts would. I'd say the bell housing likely went with it, but probably not the entire transmission. Be interesting to find out. It very well could have, I don't know about cup cars, but there's usually not much really holding the transmission in. Just a couple bolts with a rubber/poly mount. Wish they'd shown more of the debris, probably did in the while thing. Would definitely be interesting to see it all up close.
Me... boy I thought he was a goner! I'm glad he's gonna make it though. It's a testament to how much they have worked to make these cars safe and damn they really have done it.
13:44 Watch him brake at the right time to keep the car away from the wall and turn it around. Do u know how much experience and knowledge this needs? Additional to that, he kept a clear mind to pull this off. This man´s a legend!
I just watched Ford vs Ferrari yesterday and I have never seen NASCAR crashes this badly before. But the crashes in Ford vs Ferrari were just as scary as these ones.
The main thing I take out of these videos is how good communities are in sports. It's really nice seeing everyone rush to the aid of someone, whether they're a teammate or not.
luke warm agreed. an overused joke that’s not funny anymore. if you go to any video that doesnt relate to what you watch there’s goong to be people like this spamming it like it’s still funny
Dale's death is very sad, but imagine if he would have lived which would've been amazing. Just think how many more drivers would have lost their lives. In his passing came great things in the sport and all that was safety. No one has been killed since 2001 which is amazing. Overall his death wasn't tragic because he went out doing what he loved while making sure Mikey and his son were in good hands.
@@Roystothecoolkid yeah the wrecks today look really bad too, especially when cars start catching air and riding the gaurdfence. But to see pretty much a roll cage with parts of a car attached to it barrel roll then the driver gets out unharmed and WALKS away to the med center/ambulance will always make me think magic exists lol
@@Abandonsoyciety it's absolutely amazing to see these drivers walk away from a mangled stockcar. And not only are the cars safe, but the tracks have been well improved after the 2001 Daytona 500.
This reminds of me of when I had a crash in my Daihatsu Terios. I had to brake suddenly when a sheep ran out in front of me and the car behind (white van) didn't quite stop in time. It wasn't a hard impact but when I inspected the damage, the whole bumper had just fallen off. I scooped it up, put it in the boot and drove off.
“Kyle Larson car with front severely sheared of” not only the understatement of the season but the best description of a cars condition after a massive wreck. 👍
Dino YT, Actually yes, and I have memory issues, but just so you know, DILLIGAF about one little miss heard word or incorrectly read subtitle. I hope it made your day to criticise a disabled person, sometimes you can’t see a persons issues or restrictions, so please please think before you are critical or confrontational, you might, no, probably will hurt someone’s feelings, luckily for you I am not that person.

Welders aren't celebrated enough, egineers get shat on, and fabricators are never mentioned....but how about that driving
Absolutely true. The best driver, or anything really, is NOTHING without good equipment. And nothing if they're dead or paralyzed in their first wreck. Cause in any motorsports, if you ain't wrecking or breaking stuff, you ain't driving...you have to push the limits to be fast.
The Geoff Bodine crash is not only one of the scariest LOOKING but it's also one of the scariest SOUNDING crashes ever. The explosion of the truck hitting the fence, the screeching of tires. Haunting.
@@Loaf_veTrust me i know the flipping happens. and the indycar part i was wrong. In f1 though these kind of flips dont happen and even when they do happen they are pretty rare.
I was 12 years old and attended this race in person. This was right in front of us and I still remember the heat I felt in the grandstand from the fireball
4:16 Dude that gives me mcqueen crash vibes 1# Mcqueen Also hits the wall (Tho, no airtime) 2# Rolls over 3# on wheels (sometimes cars land on there doors, or upside down.)
1:53 hearing the crowd's reaction as it sinks in how bad the crash really was really sends chills up my spine; an "oh shit we should be dead right now" moment.
Jeff Carroll no it wasn’t. Dale Sr crashed several times near the end of a race while Dale Jr was racing. Now as far as serious accidents, kinda. Dale wasnt really aware of how serious Dale’s crash was until after the race was over. It’s doubtful he even knew that Dale was crashing when he crossed the finish line. Probably his spotter just said “wrecking behind you, clear to the line”. That being said it probably was a little surreal to see a serious crash with car number 3 and every time Austin crashes, the announcers always seem a little more concerned then normal, no matter how minor the crash is, even to this day.
It's honestly crazy how inconsistent injuries are in these crashes, some of these seem worse then crashes like Dale Earnhardt's, yet he was killed and these guys are walking away from the wreck.
He died because of one of his five seatbelts broke upon impact tearing the bottom of his chin off and bled to death before rescuers could arrive to him
I wouldn't call myself a NASCAR fan just yet, but I've been watching it lately and it's way more entertaining than I ever thought it would be. Not sure why people hate on it so much.
