This movie is based off of a collection of short horror stories that comes in the form of three books by Alvin Schwartz. The books have really cool illustrations that go with each story that each of the monster designs are based off of! I used to read them all the time in elementary school, I love that they decided to turn them into films. Also fun fact, all of the monsters are actors and practical effects!
This movie is based off short stories called Scary stories to tell in the dark. the woman in the red hallways is one,the head in the chimney with the dog seeing it is another and the woman and thw toe but they took those stories and made them their own by changing them slightly which is cool. Love that they use the song seasons of the witch and also that they used the herse song love those songs really. Any way grate reaction and glad you liked it as much as I did.
This is a PG-13 movie so it is not going to be like say. Terrifier 2016 or A Nightmare on Elm Street or any of those kinds of movies. It has to be children friendly.
Who told you that?? All the Insidious films, Split, The Grudge, The Ring, Cloverfield, Drag me to Hell, The Sixth Sense, are all PG-13 and are NOT “children friendly”.
@@ElioAuclair let's look at the facts shell we 1 there is no swearing in the movie whatsoever. 2 there is no nudity in it whatsoever. 3 there is no blood an gore in the movie whatsoever. 4 there is hardly any kind of real violence shown. All that literally and figuratively says its made to be a PG-13 movie. Made to be suitable for 99.9 % of children. It's obvious clear you don't listen to audio commentaries or watch bonus features for movies. Because if you did you would understand how that stuff works.
@@ElioAuclair Because if you did listen to audio commentaries an watch bonus features for movies. You would understand the whole ratings thing. Here's the basics in each rating a movie is allowed a different amount of things like. Swearing, nudity/ sexual content, valance, blood and gore, drug abuse content an other things. This is different depending on when the movie was made. Like a movie made in say 1980 could have alot more then a movie made in say 2005. Then depending on how much of what is in a movie an the time the movie was made. It determines the movies rating. Then the PG part of PG-13 means parentl guidance meaning a parent watch the movie with the child. To see if they want the child to watch it. So a movie like this with zero swarining and zero nudity or sexual content an no blood an gore an real violence. Is literally and figuratively made to be child friendly from the start. Where as for example lets look at the other end of this. The original Scream movies was originally NC17. But they removed a little bit of blood and gore then it became rated R. The same thing with the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. This is confirmed on the audio commentaries for both movies on the audio commentaries with Wes Craven. So the other movies you bring up fallow the ratings bord rules above. So they may of been altered or changed slightly from the original version. To get a lower rating or it meant the requirements of that rating at that time it was the movie was made.
@@83shadow3 PG-13 movies aren’t made for children. Some are child friendly but you can never convince me PG-13 films are made FOR children. The horror genre is most popular among people between the ages of 30 and 44. Top Gun Maverick, Interstellar, The Martian, Jaws, Casino Royale, are all PG-13 but there is no way you can say it’s MADE FOR CHILDREN. These films are catered to adult men and unsurprisingly adult men make up the overwhelming majority of the audience for these films. They’re made so that you can bring your kids but to say that PG-13 films are specifically made for kids is ridiculous.
