1st story: I was taught Wendigo are vicious yes BUT are not interchangeable with a skinwalker. Wendigo are mostly present in winter. So if you're gunna tell Wendigo stories, tell them in the summer while they're dormant. Also you can't just google "medicine man in such and such area" ask around on your reserve or ones nearby. Word of mouth will hopefully get someone in contact with you. They don't advertise. And when you do meet them, give them a gift like tobacco, a nice wool blanket, food etc. They likely won't ask for money but that might be preferred.

I'm living with a family right now who own and live in a big red wood forest and i'm listening to this at 12 am.. the woman of the house is very into spiritual practices and believes in all of the sort, we've definitely seen both beautiful and scary things out here. Although I feel 100% safe knowing she's in the house your spooky stories and way of telling them always get me in the mood!!

There was a lady named D.. SHE stayed on same block as grandma.. Im black my grandma was irsh mixed black. All older women called D. A witch.. She gave me some insence one day.. AkA sage... I took them home. Lit one my grandma 💣... I didn't know it was sage..... So much to this story is unreal. D a witch.. I can prove it.. Hands down if you believe. She good.. She punish my friend for throwing trash in her yard... And I got lost in here back yard for hours.. I was nt alone my best friend was with me.. He took me to bridge where kids push cars bridge. Bus hit puller. In omega, Virginia. School bus.. Halifax County.. Look up all weird stuff in county.. Please contact me. For all this stuff.

Me and my sister are both Métis, but we’re adopted from different families from each other and our parents. Living on our acreage the two of us never felt anything wrong about the place, aside from being a bit lonely. Our parents though, often felt very off and anxious, like something just wasn’t right in the area- the ghost friends I had a as a little kid didn’t help much either, but that’s a story for another day. Mum was always convinced we might have been living on a First Nations burial ground, which would explain the constant anxiety, some of the weird happening, and why me and my sister never experienced it.

I don’t know if this has been said or who needs to hear it but with sage: if you aren’t growing your own don’t get it. It’s starting to go towards extinction due to over harvesting. Sage is such a huge part of many indigenous peoples cultures and practices. So it’s kinda just cultural appropriation to use it if you aren’t especially if you get “smudge kits”. Sage isn’t something that you just burn and it fixes all your negative energy problems. It takes like all your focus, energy, and soul, you need to actually do things (I’m not the person to go to for what the process is tbf). It’s huge for cleansing and I believe protection possibly/probably much more in these beautiful cultures. They have been/are being killed for using these as well as other herbs/plants, or speaking their own Language, trying to peacefully stop breaches of the “Indian act” and many peace treaties, like, recently. I just really hope people can get that, I mean if you want to be cleansed there are other herbs and plants that aren’t going extinct you can use! Just please don’t buy “smudge kits” or sage. Grow your own or use another plant please and thank you! Take care, thank you for reading, and be safe people it’s a scary world

Very good point! Lavender, rosemary and mugwort are great alternatives for cleansing, if you can’t grow your own sage. Or use some white sage incense. Ain’t nothing spiritual about exploiting a culture ✨

I love your stories and I know you get them from other submissions, but I am so tired of people using the Wendigo and Skinwalker myths just because they like the sound of it! The part where the writer says "Wendigo and Skinwalkers are similar" made me shake my head. They are nothing alike! the only thing either of those have in common is they come from native American myths.
