Scenario (What If) Analysis with Power BI 

Often, we would like to know what might happen under different possible future states. Mark builds a tutorial example in Power BI of a case study to analyse different scenarios of demand and capacity.
The demo showcases several Power BI techniques: building and using what-if parameters; creating line and stacked column chart, cards and slicer visual types; formatting and labelling each series of data differently; dynamic colour changes using rules and field values and inserting dynamic values into text. We also write the DAX calculations to construct the scenario values and explain the SELECTEDVALUE(), GENERATESERIES(), SWITCH(), IF() and COALESCE() functions.
