In this scene from Samuel D. Hunter's "The Whale," Charlie (played by actor Matthew Arkin) is talking with students in his online writing class. Home-bound and morbidly obese, Charlie only talks to them via microphone. Directed by Martin Benson, "The Whale" runs March 10-31, 2013, at South Coast Repertory.

This guy has it close, but if you’ve ever been around someone 500lb+ then you’ll know that the breathing tends to be very frequent and a lot of times through the nostrils.

I was one of the few people who had a lukewarm reaction to the movie version. Watching this highlight reel confirms what I suspected when seeing the movie: that all of this dialogue and all of these beats work a lot better on the stage. It just felt melodramatic in the actual movie.

"The Great Gatsby" was one of the worse books and movies (1974 Robert Redford, Yuck!) I was ever forced to read and watch in school. I could have written that paper he read by one of his students. To me, the upper classes bore me to death except for the opportunities to make fun of them. Those that struggle and actually suffer greatly make for far more interesting stories. Their challenges far surpass "The Padded", the spoiled, entitled, egoistic, narcissistic, law-breaking but rarely facing justice, over-decorated, greedy/hoarding, wasteful, BORING, resource sucking vampire people. It's like reading about, watching and listening to giant pigs at their troughs, lmao!

But that struggle you’re talking about… that’s Gatsby… The story isn’t about rich people being rich people. It’s about a poor man that can’t get a woman because he doesn’t have money, so he sells his soul to get his hands on that money in an attempt to woe her back from her disgusting husband. Ultimately, he’s a tragic figure and a cautionary tale, as he wasn’t wise enough to realize that if she only loves you for your money then her love has no value.

You obviously never read the book with an ounce of reflection . Hemingway was a communist and loathed the aristocrats . That is the point of the novel . Simple minds liberal minds love to pretend they know things. Your idiotic comment just proved how ignorant you are. I recommend you read a few of his novels and stop posting misinformation so some other idiot who never picked up one of his novels won’t spread your clueless opinion to another idiot
