It’s about a poor man that can’t get a woman because he doesn’t have money, so he sells his soul to get his hands on that money in an attempt to woe her back from her disgusting husband. Ultimately, he’s a tragic figure and a cautionary tale, as he wasn’t wise enough to realize that if she only loves you for your money then her love has no value.
