Scenery 2 - Adding a backscene and more scenery to Havant Aclew - and running trains Ep - 17

Almost finished! This video covers scenery detailing including trees,bushes, buildings and an ID backscene. There are a few more details to add, including signals but I can now run trains in a realistic setting as can be seen towards the end of the video. The restoration of my son's old layout has taken about 15 months, working for only a couple of hours per day but a comparison with Episode One in this series shows a remarkable transformation. Sometimes it seems like hard work but when you look back and see what has been achieved it can give you a great deal of satisfaction......the videos are very useful in this regard, Cheers Keith

Within the constraints of the board size and the proprietary turnouts etc, you have produced a very convincing scale layout. I used to do similar with Hornby Dublo 3 rail and usually got a good slating from Dublo purists, but it was my layout and therefore my rules! I love what you're doing!

Hi Roy, when I started the rebuild of my son's old layout I thought it might be too small and simple to sustain my interest for long. My previous layout was much larger and of course never finished. I'm glad to say I was wrong...this layout gives me much more fun, which of course is what it's all about, Regards Keith

After doing a search on 'the tube' for Southern region signal box and finding your collection of films , I have spent the afternoon watching them all up to this point , You have a great way of doing things , Love your work :-)

very hard to see the join twixt scenics and backscene - a credit to your modelling. Nothing wrong with a small layout - you progress much quicker. I assume you will use upper case semaphore signals. Will you buy them or make them yourself?. An absorbing video. Thanks.

For the time being I have used lower case semaphore signals which are not right for this layout but there is a reason for this which will become clear in a little while.......

Forgot to add that the signals are kit built Ratio ones but very fiddly to build. Since then I have discovered the ready motorised signals by Dapol which might be worth installing but they are not cheap. One day perhaps?
