I came for the opposition to genocide and the opposition to globalism, I stayed to support my fellow patriotic Canadian men, trying to earn a respectable living with which to support their families. Something our grandfathers took for granted.

The hypocrisy from some people is astounding. You don't want oil, gas or diesel polluting our air. You want renewable energy, like windmills or solar and electric cars? I suggest to everyone that disagrees with the pipelines being built and running, should arise tomorrow morning and walk to work. If you don't have an electric car, then walk everywhere you go. Don't use taxi's, transit or anything but your 2 feet or a bicycle. Stop shopping for your goods, also. Almost everything that is made today, is made from oil. You want an electric car? More money. More electricity to consume and your bill will rise....a lot. No one is going to win on this debate....Until someone comes up with the "perfect solution", I would like to see the pipelines up and running, so people can feed their families and pay their bills. Not sit around and collect EI, Welfare, etc. and go deeper in debt and lose everything they have worked hard in the past to acquire. Not only do Albertan's work on the pipelines but so do other's who live in our other provinces. Far too many people are depending on this work. Not just the oil fields, but also transit services, the drivers, the riders, the truck companies and drivers that deliver your groceries and your other goods that you can't live without, restaurants that used to have customers, the waitresses.....many people are affected by the oil fields. Just remember when you go to work tomorrow..."IN YOUR CAR" or you put your children on a school bus to take them to school....how hypocritical you are. People need to work....So tired of this.

I'm not going to argue any of what you said. You make valid points. None of those points, however, address the fact that we're getting ourselves into some pretty serious trouble with our substance abuse issue (dependence on oil). Your arguments are similar to a heroin addict saying there is no point in trying to get clean, because everything they do in a day revolves around heroin. It's a sick cycle, and it leads to destitution, despair, and eventually death. Yes, getting off oil is going to be hard, especially day to day. But we *have* to, or we're no better than the adults you see overdosing in their cars with their children watching helplessly in the back seat. Imagine that the gasoline nozzle you're sticking in your car is no different than sinking a hypodermic full of China White into your arm and hoping your kids will be smart enough to look after themselves while you trail off to your own fantasy world. Your own escape from a dire reality.

this makes me laugh, in a perfect world yes electric cars for everyone would be great or walking to work yes, but for example for all those people who live in the major cites and their compute is 40 minutes to drive to work I don't think they can walk, also electric cars need to be charged which means more oil burned in the power plants to accommodate the electricity for energy, maybe you should move to where the cyones live on another planet where its all eco friendly
@colehara

Sandra Clark And if they walk to work there better no be any rubber in the shoes they wear. Also don't wear any clothing that was delivered by truck. Gonna be a chilly walk.
@sandraclark1286
@sandraclark1286 5 лет назад
@@thirstfast1025 I guess you can equate this with substance abuse. Sort of. Everyone is addicted to buying the newest products and being up to date on their toys. "Almost" everything that we buy on this planet in order to make our lives easier or better or fulfill our greedy nature, is made from oil. All plastics are made from oil, for example. If you made a conscious decision to go totally oil made product free, then when you shop, you would basically come home empty handed or extremely hard pressed to buy anything. It's time for everyone to realize this and if we did find anything made oil free, then we have to realize also, that it was delivered to us by diesel or gas fueled vehicles. If those vehicles became electric....we would not have the "quick" delivery service that we have today and most likely it would cost extremely more in order for these products to be delivered. Will you be willing to pay extremely inflated prices for your goods? Most people can't afford inflation, now. I'd love to see how planes and emergency helicopters are going to handle being electric. Besides....solar power runs on BATTERIES and SUNLIGHT. What are we going to do with mega tons of dead batteries, after? What if the sun doesn't come out for weeks. Solve one problem or change how you run things and another problem pops up. The solution to oil is to make it cleaner and safer until we can find a proper solution for an alternative. Or...if we focus on making it CLEANER AND SAFER, we may not need alternate answers. So far, no one has come up with a solution that is perfect. And the burden of a Carbon Tax is not going to do anything at all but line the Governments pockets so they can spend more and give more to other Countries. Carbon Tax won't do a damned thing for pollution. It's basically, theft and forcing people to pay for something that the Government refuses to fix or even attempt to fix. Our Canadian dollar is only worth about 73 cents and we are paying about 43% of our pretend dollar, off our paychecks to Government Taxes on EVERYTHING. So tell me, how much does the Average Canadian basically earn? If most of us are not in the UPPER Middle Class or above....how does that work in order to survive? If people don't want the pipeline, etc., I suggest you stop using everything, right now. Go Cold Turkey and see how that works out.

Alex S: Every thing you have, buy or eat is ether manufactured using oil produces, make partly form oil produces or grown and moved by oil products. Everything that is used to make eco energy(Soler panel, wind turbines and water powered generators are all made from oil produces (so the computer your writing on). Done you think it would be better to come up with a replacement plan first. Enact it then remove the oil from the market, that is how steam replaced horse and oil replaced steam.

It's respectable for people to stand for a cause they believe in. Just sad how misguided this cause is. On top of that it doesn't even seem to be about the energy sector anymore - just listen to 0:37 ?? There is a point that Canada does need good paying jobs (1:11) but you don't need a pipeline for that. Oil and Gas is not the future, and I hope Canadians can work together to move forward.
@mayadavid4915
@mayadavid4915 5 лет назад
That's great - oil and gas is not the future - easy to say, impossible to do if we keep driving vehicles, heating homes and more. In the meantime, why does it make more sense to shut down Canada's industry and import it from nations where misogyny is rampant and we pay much higher prices. Saying it's not the future, is not a solution.

@@mayadavid4915 We have the technology for completely electric vehicles as well as renewable energy options to power houses. In the mean time, Canada exports 2/3rds of the oil it's already producing which can sustain current demands as EV's and efficient housing replace old cars and buildings. Saying oil is not the future isn't the solution, but acting on ways to reduce reliance on it is.

@@ArkMantony You're deliberately ignoring the fact that we leave a door wide open for Saudi oil to greatly influence Canada's economy. Why would we export our own and import Saudi oil, in the process of developing newer technology? Why would we not continue using our own and GRADUALLY bringing in something new, especially if it translates into food on the table for Canadian families in the meantime?
