Should have mentioned James Marsters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There was an attempted rape scene in season six and he refused to such an awful thing even just acting but the writers considered it an important turning point for his character and refused to change it. he only stayed and reluctantly agreed because Sarah Michelle Gellar pulled him aside and talked him into staying and filming the scene with her. Even though he ended up doing it he still desperately hates the scene.

interesting video but misleading title. Most of what is shown are situations that made Actors give up and not scenes. Like plot problems, greens screen acting, issues with the director. The only real scene are the one from TWD.

Now the Walking Dead has a scene that made all the fans quit.

About the Gandalf one: Since the hobbit's actor and the dwarfs weren't as short as they are supposed to be, camera angles and green screens had to be used to make them look shorter. That's why Gandalf's actor had to look and talk to nothingness, which obviously frustrated him. In one of the scenes, he broke down, and sat on a table there and cried because this was not why he chose to become an actor.

One thing I don't like, as Sir Ian McKellen endured, is how Hollywood is so obsessed with perfection that they refuse to hire little people to play actual little people (dwarves, hobbits, etc). Little people nearly always are only cast in weird, degrading roles (like Mini-Me), or as Christmas elves. The LOTR franchise would have been a fantastic opportunity for little people to show their acting talent, but no, Hollywood would rather invest tons of money and work and awkwardness into digitally shrinking regular-sized people, and thus making things very hard on everyone involved. :( They also often avoid casting overweight people in the roles of overweight people, investing tons of money into CGI or latex suits to make thin people look fat. Or they pass up hiring people of different ethnicities in favor of white people with makeup. And finally, they MOSTLY (with only some exceptions) cast only the most beautiful and young women for female roles, while men can look any way they want and can keep getting cast into their 50s and 60s without just being token "old people". Hollywood really should start being more brave, give other people a chance, put out casting calls for new talent instead of only relying on the big names over and over again.

Wow, I didn't realize that Russel Crowe was responsible for ruining what could have been an extremely interesting and unique Robin Hood film. I was really looking forward to that concept, and instead we got another Maximus tortured-soul epic snooze.

The role of Gandalf was originally offered to Sean Connery. Thank god he turned it down and it was given to Ian McKellen instead. Not that Connery couldn't have pulled it off, but honestly there isn't a single actor on Earth that would have fit Gandalf better than Ian McKellen.

The reason Brad Pitt was so miserable while filming Interview with the Vampire was because apparently he and Tom Cruise didn't get along at all... A real shame, Pitt was so gorgeous in that film back when he was young and hot.

It actually makes me angry that ANYONE would care so much about the plot to The Fast and the Furious. My character would prefer an alpha male to a pretty boy? I understand it was the first one but it's one of the dumbest mainstream movie franchises of all time who gives a fuck? It's not like people are going to leave the theater thinking the romance was unrealistic.

Never hire famous stars. Hire new talents who do their jobs properly.

Very cool information. It's so easy to assume that since an actor plays a part, they don't have issues with the script. I can't imagine seeing anyone else plays these roles. I'm happy they stayed around.

Well in the case of Sir Ian Mckellen, Peter Jackson could have made it easier. The Hobbit uses alot of CGI and green screen, while the LOTR used way more practical effects, like building two versions of bag end, one small for Ian to act in and one Big for the hobbits. He could also have brought in a person with dwarfism to act against Ian, and just replace him with the Hobbit later.
