Wow! used to ride this trail in 1990 on a hardtail with rim brakes. One of the first MTB races I ever did used it. It was pretty hard work in those days! The singletrack section from 9 min is new, that wasn't there back then!

4:00 This was my favorite jump on my ol Milazo Crazyhorse... Gotta pick the right day tho (1 day a year it isn't blowing a crosswind up there). There's a back door track from 05:18 to the left that comes out at the coral to the left at 5:53... It's probably long overgrown and a washed out rut. For a bit of an up skill... take a left at 6:30 and down the grass to the left at 6:56.

Ooh, some cheeky lines I'll have to ride next time I'm out there. I still need to film Radome and Red rocks old exit, so I'll have a look then.

@@TrailAtlas I'm fairly sure the back entry to the corral is overgrown but the grassy knoll is still there... not many bother as its a small uphill when the main track heads back down. My friend has been talking about wether we can get a track made from the top of red Rocks (above the tip) East from the high point to cut out the awful "tip Track' top section. of course then a run on top of that ridge to the gate would also have to follow, (and then perhaps one below the tip track zigzagging up to that corral as the tip track is just too steep for average joe to enjoy...

@@TrailAtlas Oh.. And when you do the dome.. you can continue to the gun sights (the match for the one above the airport that was the sights for wrights hill. There's even a hidden track on that one... Check out the lower forest section specifically the east edge. You can see the track in google maps. Walked it during covid... www.google.com/maps/@-41.3524318,174.7136904,2234m/data=!3m1!1e3 1 major issue... You can't ride back up from the forts... and would have to shoulder the bike down the last 2-300m section east of the forts to the last batch in the bay.

Crikey that drop at the end looks huge! Is it really grade 3 standard? Is it rollable? I s’pose it’s all about lines. I recently built up the courage to do trickle falls… I was all good on the entrance but that stream drop at the end scared me off. How does it compare to that? By the way great run!

I think the drop is more of a grade 4 feature, I can't remember if it's rollable sorry. Good work on Trickle Falls! If you can ride the entrance to that you'll have no problem with the Red Rocks drop. The rock roll into the stream at the end of trickle falls isn't as bad as it looks, the setup is much harder than the roll itself. If you stick to the high line for the setup and keep left down the roll into the stream you'll be fine. You don't actually need to drop anything. The setup can be a bit slippery after some rain though.

@@TrailAtlas Haha thanks man, I have a goal to ride trickle all the way before I turn 15. I was quite surprised that I went left over the drop at the start bit so I'm sure I'm capable of it. Keep up the good work with the youtube! Love the vids! Thanks for replying to comments too!
