The Picking Copper Kettle Factory was featured in season two of Scenic Stops, an original program on WBGU-TV in Bowling Green, Ohio. The factory was built in Bucyrus, Ohio in 1873, and started building apple-butter kettles in 1874, which have now been made there for 139 years. The Picking Factory makes their kettles by hand, and is the only company in America that hammers them by hand. In addition to apple-butter kettles, Picking makes copper drums for tympani for some of the major orchestras in the United States. WBGU-TV would like to thank Keith Moore, Helen Picking and Picking Copper for letting us explore your scenic stop!
