Nice demonstration guys!! It is now late 2021 and we're still enjoying our Vienna Plus. Weve been making several cups of delicious cappucino a day. I bought the Vienna when it was first introduced in America...can't remember when, but it has been around 10 years. I just bought a Gaggia Brera for my daughter since it is so similar. Thank you for your videos that have been so helpful in teaching me how to care for my Vienna!!!!

Hi Jason, It depends on when the red light occurs. If the red light occurs during the grinding process, there could be a grinder clog and I would suggest watching the How-to: Saeco Vienna Plus Grinder Calibration video. If it occurs once the machine tries to push water through the grounds then there could be a clog in the brew unit, and I would suggest watching the SCG Tech Tip: Saeco Superautomatic Brew Unit Disassembly video. Hopefully this does it for you! - Teri

Very helpful video. I've had this machine for almost 10 years, and have rarely had issues with it. Today, I noticed that there were some grinds stuck in the mechanism, so I pulled it out, cleaned it, dried it, and put it back. It worked fine for one shot, but complained right after about the drip tray being out. Unfortunately, the error is not getting resolved, even after several attempts at jiggling the drip tray and the grounds box. I'm not sure what to do now: do you have any suggestions?

Our Vienna Superautomatica has and still is working well after 15years! We are noticing a different and new sound coming from the grinding cycle. I have cleaned out the grinding unit, vacuumed out and cleaned everything however the different sound is still there. The burr units appear fine, could the sound be coming from the bearings below the lower burr? We are still getting great coffee despite the different sound. Thanks for any help and find your videos very helpful.

e pulled out the box for the coffee grounds out right when the the machine was first turned on. We could not get the back into the machine. The brew unit seemed to be preventing the box from getting back in. we removed the brew unit and now we can not get tthr brew unit back on the box for the grounds. the brew unit seems not to be connecting with the gear in the machine. Any help or explanation would be mos helpful!!

Hi Brendan, Thanks for the thorough tips. I have a similar Spidem Trevi Automatica here at my office working fine for about 10 years now. I have the problem that the dosage knob has a mind of its own. It is slowly moving to the maximum dosage with each turn. Can you help me out. The grinder calibration has already helped me a lot. Kind regards from The Netherlands!

Two questions below… I just purchased my first 2006 era , Saeco Vienna DELUXE Automatica. It’s fully refurbished and in amazing condition, both inside and out. This is my first adventure with an expresso machine. 1. Although it makes a great 5 ounce cup of coffee, it will only brew 1/2 an ounce of expresso when it’s set for the minimum coffee on the dosage knob. Is this normal? 2. What are the differences between the Saeco Vienna DELUXE Automatica and the Saeco Vienna PLUS models? Thank you.

Hi, I had my Vienna Superautomatica brewing part stocked, I followed all the steps to repair it but for some reason I can’t rotate the dented gear, large teeth are still not in place. The machine will turn on but do not make the adjustment so I can’t insert the brewer again. It just turn on and has the red light blinking. Can you help me??

Our machine looks like it's fine and when you press the brew button, it sounds like it's ok and then water doesn't come out and the red light turns on. If we turn the machine on and back on then hit the brew button, it works. I went through all the option in test mode. When I tried the tip to rinse out the brew unit, no water came out. What does that mean? I'm thinking it has something to do with our problem with our first cup of coffee and no water coming out. Any advice?

Hi, great videos! I have a Vienna Superautomatica which I've owned for around 12 years and never put a foot wrong! It started playing up yesterday and no longer delivers water to either brew group or steam wand. I've gone through the test functions in your other video and all things work (although no water delivered even though pump running) I was going to have a go at looking at any potential blockages in pipework/flow meter. EDIT - All pipework clear and correct voltage at pump (is it a combined solenoid and pump or a 'piston' type pump) there was a small amount of suction through it, but not enough to draw water through?? Are there any other areas which could be the source of the issue? Many thanks Marcus.

Hello & "HELP PLEASE" - After removing a Stuck Brew compartment & throughly cleaning it, & re-positioning the compartment to neutral position, the gear on the inside the Saeco Villa machine will not turn into the neutral position. I can no longer fit my brew unit back into the slot. Is there anything else that I can do????? I did the whole nine yards by placing the index card into the slot to engage the micro switch to switch on. The gear turns a little like it would normally but, the gear in the machine is still in the wrong position. Any further assistance appreciated.
@zsszeli
@zsszeli 5 лет назад
Raj Patel I don’t know if it is solved but try removing the brew unit (as you said it is already out of the machine), and just close the door, or push the little pin as stated in the video. The machine should rotate the central gear, to neutral position. Then try placing back the central unit (Note, that you have to push it where it says push, before you place it back. Do not push while you putting it back)

Hi Folks! Great video...thanks for all the tips. Here's a question for you...I have owned at Saeco Vienna DeLuxe for years now (likely more than 8!), and recently it has taken to grinding two times, with just one push of the button. It will then brew the first cup, discard the grind puck and then proceed to brew a second cup...great if you want two coffees, but wasteful if you only want one! Any ideas on how to resolve this??
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Susan MacLeod, My best suggestion is to make sure that you’re just pushing the button once, and not accidentally hitting the brew button. The nice thing about Saeco machines is their ability to brew 2 drinks back to back, since they only dose enough coffee for a single shot. If you’re sure that you’re just pushing the button once, and you’ve checked around the button to make sure that it’s not getting caught on anything, then it’s likely something internal that needs repair like the power board. If you’d like to find the closest authorized Saeco repair shop, they can make that determination to be sure, and Saeco’s number is 800-933-7876. ~ Miranda

@SeattleCoffeeGear 10 лет назад
Hi David Martínez! This could mean several things: If the pucks are dry then your grind may be too course. If the pucks are wet then your grind may be too fine. It is also best to double check if your brew group is properly set and not slightly off. - Sarah

My Saeco Vienna Plus has been working great for about two years. All of the sudden, when I turn it on, it just stopped heating up and the green light flashes indefinitely. I've descaled twice. Any suggestions?
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Cornerstone, The Official Journal of the World Coal Industry, It sounds like something more in-depth is happening, then. If descaling didn’t make any improvement, then there could be a couple things that could be the culprit such as the power board or the thermostat that will register if the machine is up to temperature. It’s hard to say without seeing the machine, so our best suggestion is to bring it into a repair shop, either us or a local Saeco repair shop to you. ~ Miranda

Make sure to descale your machine regularly. Scale can build up on your heating element making it less effective. This video may help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Pue328O8XM.html

Hi guys, thanks for your video and comments, very instructive! I'm having a water leak problem with my Saeco Vienna Deluxe that started about a month ago out of the blue. I turn the machine on, it makes the usual start-up noises, some clear water comes out of the steam wand, then once it has heated up, the red light goes on solid (no blinking), and there's a massive puddle of clear water on my counter. A lot! It's dripping out of the bottom of the unit, and there is still some water in the water tank. I've taken it apart and all the hoses are clear, the flowmeter looks good. There's some debris on the boiler in the middle seam. Could that be the problem? What should I do?? Thanks a million!
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Kaivon Vaezi, It's tough to say where exactly the leak is coming from. However, priming the machine in this case may help! Upon powering the machine on, try turning the steam knob open to pull a steady stream of water through. This should allow the boiler to heat the water and hopefully clear that error light and counter leak! Another thing to check for is a blockage behind the brew unit of the machine. If you open the door and take out the dredge drawer, drip tray and brew unit, you will see a small recessed area with a tan water valve. If you reach into this area there is likely a fair amount of grounds built up that may need to be cleaned. Clean this area out very well, including the channel that leads to the drip tray and the overflow water should be able to start flowing back into your drip tray instead of your counter. If you're still experiencing those issues, the machine may need to be seen in a service center. You might consider contact Saeco at 1-800-933-7876 to find a local service center! I hope this helps! ~Haley

We've just fixed a water flow problem with our Vienna Plus so it now dispenses smoothly, however... it won't stop dispensing coffee and overflows cup after cup. Any thoughts? There are no error lights and the flow meter cables seem to be in place. Thx.
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Russell King, A few things that it could be: One is that possibly the dial on the front of the machine is not registering the amount of water that you have requested, so you can check that the dial is attached to the machine, and hopefully isn’t just holding on by a smidgeon so that it maybe isn’t turned down to the volume that you’d like accidentally. The other is that it may need descaling, in order for the flow meter to properly register the amount of water that’s passing through the machine. If there is some scale built up in this area, then it won’t register accurately how much water has flowed through, so it doesn’t know when to stop it. If neither of those suggestions do it, then I would suggest bringing it in for repair, or finding a closer repair center to you. ~ Miranda

@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Jeff Es, Are you able to perform a rinse or descaling cycle? Since the machine has not been used for quite some time, it may require a maintenance cycle to be performed before it begins working properly. ~ Sarah

Seattle Coffee Gear Thanks for your quick answer, unfortunatly I'm unable to descale it, I can't even get it in programm mode.. It shows no signs of life, only a blinking standby light. Maybe the cpu can't get enough power? faulty capacitor or something?
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Jeff Es Hello again! It sounds like you may need to take it into an authorized service center. There are several components that can fail, and likely it is the power board or control board, but it’s hard to say without looking at the machine. If you've tried pushing buttons to see if you can wake it up, and you've tried restarting several times (including disconnecting the power cord at the back to make sure that it’s seated properly), then it likely is something more in-depth internally that needs a tech's touch. ~ Miranda

Hi, My Saeco Vienna Plus isn't working so great. When I start it up, it makes no brew-group movements and the red light goes on, as well as the water light. Both are displaying solid lights. it won't go into test mode and the steam wand won't produce any water but the boiler is heating up. I've checked to make sure everything is in place and everything is but even if I take anything out, nothing changes. I'm not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated :)
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Narwhaly, Unfortunately, it does sound like the machine isn’t working properly for you. You can see if there’s a clog in your steam wand by using a paperclip up the steam wand, and hopefully you can break up a clog to get water through properly. However, even if you’re able to prime it, if you don’t hear any movement when the machine turns on, there could be a problem with the brew unit gears, motor, or microswitches. It’s impossible to tell without seeing the machine. For a close authorized Saeco repair center, you can give them a call: 800-933-7876. - Miranda

Thanks, I did do some digging around and checked to see if any current was coming to the pump and it appears nothing is. The fuses all seem fine so I'm assuming it must be something related to the electronic circuit board. I'm going to try find a Service Manuel and see if I can still fix it but thank you for your assistance.

Help please!!!!!! My Saeco Vienna De Luxe, barely used, turns on, and even though there's plenty of coffee in the reservoir, the red light (on the coffee bean sign) keeps red all the time. Doesn't come any coffee from the machine. Basically, it's ON but doesn't work. Please help me!!!!!
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 10 лет назад
Hi californiabear1936, There are a few options when trying to figure this issue out: 1. Try turning the machine on and let it sit for 30 seconds to a minute. When you turn it on again, see if the machine will go ahead and heat up and brew. You also will need to make sure that the machine has a full water tank, and you can try priming it too by opening the steam valve to get water out of the steam wand. When you start up the machine, you should hear a short bit of movement inside the machine, but if it doesn’t and gives a red light immediately, it could be a problem with the brew unit, gears, sensors, or motor. If that’s the case, it probably needs some repair. You could contact us if you want to send it into us so we can set up a repair order, or you could contact Saeco directly if you would like to find a closer repair center to you. 2. If it brews, but then gives the red light again, it is likely an issue with the grinder setting and is either too coarse or too fine. Repriming the machine and making a grinder adjustment may help in this, but keep in mind that whenever you adjust the grind setting you will need to brew about 4 brew cycles to clear through the mixture of the old and new grinder settings so that you are 100% on the new setting. I hope either of these suggestions help! - Miranda

Please help! My Vienna Plus is heating water but not dispensing it to the grounds. Water comes out the bottom, instead.
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Hello Dylan Adams, If it is clear water that is leaking, then it could be a water tank gasket, which is under the water tank below the hard gray plastic cover (www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-water-tank-gasket). If the leaking is espresso, then there could be a problem with the dispensing spout on your brew unit. Check to see if you have a piece extending forward from the front of your brew unit that bends down at a right angle, and make sure this piece isn’t broken. Finally, if the leaking is water with some grounds, look behind the brew unit into the recessed area with the cream colored stem. This recessed area can get built up with grounds over time and may need cleaned thoroughly so excess water travels into your drip tray during brewing. Hopefully this does it! - Teri

What is going on when both of the right hand lights (green) ones are blinking? I unplug and wait plug back in nothing
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 10 лет назад
If the coffee and steam lights are blinking then the machine is over temperature. You should turn it off and let the machine cool for at least an hour, then turn it on and prime it by drawing a stream of water from the steam arm of the machine. After allowing at least a half cup of water to run out of the unit via the steam arm, it should have a full boiler and be ready for use. To prevent this from happening in the future, ensure the boiler is full after steaming by depressing the steam button and re-priming to refill the boiler. - Teri

Hello Juergen Hans Schnirch, If you have kept up with regular maintenance and cleanings, it might be best to take your machine into a local service center for a tune-up and diagnosis. The service centers either in Boise or Seattle are at least 4 1/2 to 5 hrs away from me. We are retired and don't have the money to ship. Could it need calibration. I could not find a video for my superautomatica. Have throughly enjoy my machine for 8 1/2 years and its a bummer not to have it. When I push the brew button it will not even grind my beans. When I turn it on it goes through it cycle. Can you help? Please.
@SeattleCoffeeGear
@SeattleCoffeeGear 9 лет назад
Juergen Hans Schnirch The only thing that I can think to suggest would be to try to clean/recalibrate the grinder, which we fortunately do have a video for and can be found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5M5WmOYzTAU.html. However, if after you reassemble it, the grinder doesn’t try to engage, then there could be a couple of things going on, which unfortunately would be fairly costly (like a new power board or changing out a microswitch). Hopefully the grinder cleaning will work, otherwise it might be best (due to the age of the machine) to consider a replacement, rather than needing to spend money on shipping, just to get an estimate somewhere around the cost for a replacement machine. ~ Miranda
