I met her at Riverside WSKA World Cup. I competed for Costa Rica. She won Gold medal in individual Kata and Team Kata. And yet she was very humble. Amazing human she is.
mansouri is a good technician who finished 3rd at the EKF championship in 1995 and 3rd at the WKF Championship in Suncity (South Africa) in 1996 behind an american (2nd) and the japanese (mimura) 1st
Its called Kata, and its usually slow because your body have to inherit all the moves, so in any case during a combat you can use them automatically without problems. and yeah, its like a kind of dance, thats why those are called ARTS.
@frankdux21 nur als kleine ergänzung: wenn man schon karate trainieren möchte sollte man jeden aspekt trainieren. und kumite gehört genau so dazu wie kata training
@karatetom1 jedem das seine. Es wird immer einen geben, der stärker ist als du, egal, ob du einen Schwarzgurt im Karate hast oder nicht ;) egal ob Straße oder Trainingshalle
You're probably referring to Kanazawa's version. Kanazawa does a loooot of things differently, and his organization has little weight nowadays. The back arm is pulled over shoulder height since Nakayama times!

Unfortunately my lack of linguistic skills prevent me from understanding the German comments. But I kind of wonder what people actually see in this. She has lovely form, posture and flexibility but what else?
@frankdux21 hallo frankdux, da muß ich dir recht geben aber was ich meine ist,das shotokan nicht immer auf ballett trainiert werden sollte.natürlich sollten die techniken richtig ausgeführt werden. aber wie du sagst,jedem das seine. gruß tom
@karatetom1 Da bin ich auch deiner Meinung. Einge gewisse Härte muss schon vorhanden sein im Training, sonst kommt man nicht weiter. Es gibt ja viele, die z.B. das Kumite lieber meiden. Das kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.
Das so etwas in einem Trainingslager gezeigt wird, ist schon bedenklich! Das ist nun wirklich keine Anwendung! Schade, dass keiner solche Sachen in Frage stellt!
Das ist doch keine Anwendung! Hat mit Karate Kampfkunst leider überhaupt nichts zu tun! Einfach selbst hinterfragen, ob das in der Selbstverteidigung anzuwenden wäre! Der DKV hat sich leider in den letzten Jahrzehnten nicht weiterentwickelt! SCHADE!
Was ist denn Kata Bunkai sonst ? Bunkai [bɯnkai] (jap. 分解, „Analyse“, „Zerlegung“) ist eine Trainingsform in der Karateausbildung, um dem Karateka ein besseres Verständnis der Kata nahezubringen.(Wikipedia). Im Video werden nur Trainingsformen gezeigt. Mehr nicht ! ! ! Also was soll ich hinterfragen ? Wenn ich mich selbst verteidigen möchte, muss ich SV lernen. Da der DKV, SV Seminare anbietet und es das SOK gibt, ist die frage, was möchtest Du ?
