Sound test with cleans as requested, recorded to DAW. Sounds from Clean to Dirty to Lead/Hi gain and all mic positions. I really dig this guitar. Sounds and feels great.
I just ordered one yesterday before I saw your tone examples .. thanks I know I made a great choice! I have a few schecters, the necks and frets are so consistently smooth playing.
As Mark Knopfler would attest, Schecter has always been a great platform for creating a decent instrument. This guy could pretty much pick any guitar he wanted. Of course, he loved his Fenders, Gibsons, Steinbergers and Pensa-Suhrs. But he also used several customised Schecters particularly during the golden years of Dire Straits. Good enough for Knopfler. Good enough for the rest of us.
Thanx man. Yes, that's what I thought too. It isn't often you can hard rock-riff away fully valid with position 3,4 and 5. This was not a problem here. 💯❤️
Hi Mikael...thanks so much for doing some videos demo-ing this guitar model...there aren't many out there as of yet...I think this particular guitar is a sleeper in popularity right now, but I think it won't be long before people start picking up on it...
@@mickenilsson Yeah, he looks like he really likes it...I haven't played one yet, but I located one at a store in my area online, so when I get the chance, I'll go check it out...I'll probably end up with one...I play in a cover band in my area and I do have some songs that I utilize the 24th fret...go up to the high E and do a bend up to an F# and back at the ending of this one song, haha!...thanks for responding back.
Fantastic playing and tones! I just ordered the purple MV-6 with the Wenge neck. Very much looking forward to it. Your video helps me with my expectations. Thank you! If I may ask, what was the pedal you engaged for the low/mid gain tones?
Thanx 🙏 I'm using the Flamma Preamp and the Flamma Cab IR Pedals. Chose a Fender Blues Deluxe in the preamp and a 1960 Geenback Marshall 4x12 in the cab. I have tried all available gear to run IRs in from 100$ to 2500$ and this is what I ended up with. I use this professionally both in the studio and live.
I just ordered a Schecter MV-6 as my first guitar to pair up with a Rockman Ultralight. Hopefully it works out. I'd like to be able to play Switch 625 with them one day.
I always thought Greg Koch should demo all clean and over drive sounds to electric guitar leave the distortion and to the RU-vid “shredders”. I know elect this man instead , Greg is busy anyway.
This comment could raise my ego to an unhealthy level, but I've also got some level of self awareness, so it evens itself out. Love this, but I don't deserve it. Hugz! ❤️
Hi Mikeal! You're a great Guitar player... I Have a question.... I'm about to buy a NJ HSS.... I'm a Metal Guitar player, abd i saw that the Nick Johnston can be good to play metal as well. What you say abou the MV-6? It can be good too? Thank you in advance!
I would say that I'd would go with the MV6 all day. The NJ is a great guitar, but sounds to much strat in the between positions. The huge variety of sounds you can get with the MV6 is a blessing and the between positions don't have to much low bass or icepick highs. The MV6 has more of a modern hard rock/metal tone, although you can get great classic tele like sounds.
Fender American Standard 2009 or this guitar and what you think about quality of pots. I have Nick Johnston schecter and tone pot is loose, pots make noise and guitar input is loose, only one year of use.
Well... I would say the am std is better quality wise, but the pickups on this schecter made the whole guitar shine. I would go for the Fender and maybe find pickups that does what I want.
With that said, the american Fenders made before 2012 are stellar instruments, as of today, the Fender Ultra isn't even better in some cases, than the Schecter MV6. So go for early ones.
@@mickenilsson I was thinking about 2009, man who is selling said that guitar have american standard single coil pickap, not fat 50s. In great shape, price is the same like this new schecter mv 6.
Is it possible to put a humbucker in this? I love all the specs on this guitar but worry it’s not modular if I want to swap pickups out. Also can that tremolo take a beating and stay in tune?
@@theosophicalwanderings7696 Yes it is, but I always do it anyways to minimize hustle, regardless of what material or price of the guitar. No hustle is very preferable 😊👌
@@erikl6988 I hear you. I had to change my attitude around this due to the fact it was so hard to find the perfect guitar. It's like going buying a used car on a budget. If you absolutely want a stick shift but the best buy is the super clean, no rust, low mileage, cared for, is an automatic... I'd go for the automatic. It has got to the point Im not even bothered at all with neck thickness. But everyone can't do that, I get it. It just worked for me. Cheers ❤️🤘 But it has to have ring, play feel, tone and durability though. Or I'm out.
@@mickenilssonlove your playing and the sounds from this guitar. Do you feel like this neck would be difficult to learn on as a beginner with large hands?
@@touarec I don't know man. I got super large hands and it's fine for me. Pete Honoré reacted negative by tradition when he just picked I up in the Andertons demo, but then you immediately could hear how he played and he loved it, even mention it later in the video. I think it's not that thin that it's going to be a problem when you've gotten used to it. I certainly don't mind it at all.
