I got to fly the real L-Spatz about 30 years ago, straight after I had just finished a 5:46hrs flight in a K7 to get my Silver C duration. I remember the L-Spatz having an uncovered porthole for teh DV panel, no trimmer, and flat plate top spoilers. The plane back released at 500ft after a violent launch and that was all the height I had to familiarise myself with it on an unfamiliar airfield. The spoilers were very ineffective and as I had had to stay close to the airfield due to the low release height, I was at the far end of the runway by the time I'd rolled to a halt. The plane handled pleasantly though (similar to a K8) and I'd have enjoyed a longer flight!
