He is the type of man who chooses the wife at home taking care of his offspring and the mistress or perhaps simply a powerful partner in the company who fights alongside him. But he does not understand his wife's feelings and desires or the intentions of the woman who works with him. The wife is a capable woman, she cannot accept that treatment, she must fight to get ahead with her children.

Why is HIS mother asking her why she had the children if she wasn't going to be responsible to hold her marriage together, because she is a wife and mother?! Shouldn't this be the conversation she has with HER own child while reminding him his dad did this to them? Did he have nothing to do with marrying her and getting her pregnant? Shouldn't he understand he is a husband and father so should be responsible to hold his family together? The man told her he is attracted to his boss and she offers him the world he wants and finds fascinating, where he is a somebody...then left to be all about himself and his wants and needs. What is she to do with this confession but scram? Even in the house he is rarely shown even looking at the children and when she was pregnant with a DOUBLE load he'd come home late and not even ask her how she was/the babies were doing, not rub her back or legs, not bring her some water or a late snack...nothing, but "go back to sleep." Sure, he had to work and the company was a startup so for success it would take a lot of time, focus, and energy. But, he gave nothing when showing up at home - even a single loving caring hug while saying 'I missed you' and placing his hand on her belly, would have been a very grand gesture. How long would this have taken, how much energy for even an exhausted person? Maybe...five minutes, ten tops...and she would have rolled over contentedly and gone back to sleep without being told to do so. He's really let and is letting her down. His mother's scolding is to the wrong person. She's not Superman and can stop a wild bullet train from its fatal path of derailment. He told her " the mind is free, noone can stop its thoughts"...i.e. him thinking about his attraction to his boss. And, to have asked her if she was interrogating him when she showed him the necklace and receipt - as if she was responsible for having them...or even knowing they existed!!! Then, after she said the woman called her out, saying "oh, that's how she does things," like since it was her doing it was okay by him but from his wife it revealed she is a shrew. His boss slyly mocks him about meeting his wife on a blind date so now he thinks and acts as if it was an entrapment she set to get him. Really mister?! She was highly proficient in every way but didn't have time to meet anyone - just like you. Anyway, he might not have slept with his boss yet...but, his brain sense of intimacy with her is far greater than a roll in the hay.😢😶

He should have quit his job a long time ago, but decided to stay and gave zero effort to helping his wife in anyway. The scene when she's holding both babies and she's asking the nanny for help because she has to cook dinner and he just looks at her? No, he would be good.
