Hi Paul, it's Pinaud Clubman and the same company that makes Clubman aftershave. It was started in Paris around 1810 by Edouard Pinaud.

The '67 Schick Krona was my first vintage razor, and I love it. There's a few I rotate usage of but the Krona is always a treat, and still looking mint more than 50 years on.

That Schick is gorgeous; it must have been refurbished at some point. I was born in the mid-sixties as well and I’m not in nearly such good condition. Yep, busy time. My Grandfather was a mail carrier. In my teenage years, I rode with him many times. We delivered mail to several small post offices in the area. He was a barber at one time during his life, and in those days, was a DE shaver. Those good memories from many years ago are one reason I enjoy the DE hobby. Thanks for the video. Hi Paul, just walked to day at superdrug to get some Palmolive sticks as it seems they aren't going to be sold anymore in UK. I saw the Clubman Brush (which now has gone up to almost 13 quid). I was wondering if you could tell me about it, particularly how does it splays on the face. I recently got a razorock plissoft tuxedo know and it is a bit stiffier than what I was expecting. I do like brushes that are quite floppy and splay easily on the face since I do tend to prefer face lathering. Cheers mate ;)

I need one that Schick in gold. I know the small amount of gold plate is not worth much over the nickel version, but it makes the razor shave so much better. At least in my head.

Great review! I feel the same way; a great soap at a fantastic price. The foam, the cushion, and the slickness are of the highest quality! My l'occitane soap is amazing, but it is easily, twice the price. Crown Shave Cream is brilliant but 4x the cost! Clubman makes a good brushless cream, and their aftershaves are brilliant!

While I have several Kronas, I've long wanted one with the metal TTO tip. I finally found 2, but they were part of a lot of several other razors. So now I have 2 nice Kronas with the metal twist ends, several GEM's and a couple of razors to use for parts to assemble a couple of razors I'm refurbishing. All for the cost of the Kronas I've yet to get a bad shave from any of the Kronas with any of my top 10 blades.

I have many of the trendy small company aftershaves but I always enjoy pinaud aftershave. Haven't tried the shave soap yet. Gonna have to try it.

man just found your vid. i dont know how people can manage to shave against the grain on their necks, every time i try that on my neck i look like i fell on a barbwire fence. if i dont go against the grain i still have tons of hair on my neck. got any tips?

I have the same razor. Mine isn't as clean as yours.

Got a cheapy Dollar Store TTO razor and it turned me onto the DE razors. Got a long handle QShave and some astra blades online. I was going through some drawers in the bathroom and low and behold I found a Schick Krona thats all black handle and silver top. Musta been my dads or grandpas I guess (theyve passed away and I own and live in the house with my fam now) Would have never expected to find one after coincidentally just getting into DE shaving. Soo brilliant, kinda wished I didnt get the new one online but its a beauty and was only $14 so now I have 2. Gettinf some astra blades tomorrow and going to try them both out. They have to be a huge upgrade to my $1 one that the wing kept popping up.

I wish you wouldn't do that neck brace impression. I was in my Doctor's surgery a few weeks back, and there was a Gentleman sitting opposite me in the waiting room wearing one. I couldn't stop thinking of you and your impression and I was sitting smirking to myself, trying not to burst out laughing. I bet the other patients thought I was nuts. 🤣🤣

That's so funny! I have always thought of the Krona as being very gentle/mild and you perceive it as mid aggression. Strange how differently people perceive the exact same object. Idon't know about the bowl container but that soap is available in a tube in the States. Now, on the subject of Fragrance of Pinaud soap; to me it smells EXACTLY the way a White Cake(except Sponge--Good God No--Cake) and I do mean "white", Not yellow, not pound and not any icing flavor...But white cake...Think coconut cake without the coconut icing and that is what that soap smells like. It always make me crave cake afterwards.

I'm in "Grizzly Adams" mode right now, but I keep my neck neat. That razor is in great condition considering its age. Thanks for sharing another great video, Paul. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

That was an early shave this morning wasn't it I think I saw it about 9.30ish and it was already 3hrs old. ........Love the chrimbo postbox ...very nice........and the clubman range is the same as the aftershaves, seen the soap and brush online half price I think from Boots............

I have this soap in my den, and as you stated it is slicker than bulls snot! I believe that the brush is the same one that is available for us here in the states from Sally's Beauty Supply. Great cheap brush!

The Paul H comedy half hour - reminds me of the old Bob Monkhouse gag " people laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian. They're not laughing now " 😂 To be serious for a moment ( just a moment ) , the matching balm is a helluva nice product too but it's a bit urgent coming out of the tube ! The 1st time I used it a massive blob came but from just a gentle squeeze . Ah well, you live and learn .

So mny cvhoices of soaps nowadays, hard to catch up... Heard the Gilette Silver Blue no longer produced. If rue, time to stock up. Cheers.

I think Clubman is a very underrated soap. The one flaw is the puck is a bit small. It has the scent of clubman vanilla rather than the original. I think clubman vanilla smells like 1930s obsession for men. Great video, glad you tried it!

I love the smell of arko shave soap. I bought the Pinaud shave soap for around 3$. Was excited to get it hoping it would smell like the aftershave. Was wrong. Hated the soap and used it twice and threw it in the trash. Was a total disappointment for me and my face but YMMV However I love their two in one beard conditioner. Cheap. Works well and doesn’t leave you oily.

Great shave and discussions Paul, enjoyable to watch as always. What is your favorite inexpensive shave cream? Mine are hands down the Nivea 's, both in the blue and white (sensitive) tubes. I find they perform as well as most of my artisans at a fraction of the cost, very decent ingredient list as well.

I checked the price on Amazon and eBay for the same soap. Interesting that ebay was considerably less expensive! I still have not replaced my dog yet!

Paul, we have the exact same soap here in the U.S., same packaging as well. I came across it about two months ago and really liked it too. I bought it because I used to use Clubman lilac vegetal. Nice scents. Great video as always, merry xmas.

Thanks Paul.....I have bought and used this shave soap. I find it to be creamy and provides a great shave. I can only find the 2 ounce version. Is there a bigger jar available. Compared to my many other shave soaps, this one goes quick.
