Perfectly stated. They obviously love each other very much. So much so that they're willing to forego their own happiness so that the person they love can achieve their dreams, on both sides of the relationship. It's genuinely beautiful and aspirational.
The scene at the Café Tropical with Ted and Alexis was so well done. I was really hoping that they would have found a way to work it out but sometimes it’s just not in the cards. It’s that dilemma of wanting to see someone you truly love reach their full potential but in order for them to do that, you have to let them go.
This episode shows nothing but PURE growth in all respects for Alexis, season one Alexis would’ve found a reason for him to stay or she would’ve left him in a devastating way. (Like the first time) I also like to think that this episode shows some growth in David as well. I don’t think season 1 David would’ve even stood next to Cheeto-Patrick for a set of pictures. The fact that he was also able to be happy with a simple picture taken by Stevie at home, again, growth. Yeah this last season makes me cry, every-time.
“I’m sorry I’m not an alchemist, John!” Gets me every time. Alexis and Ted’s breakup was so sad! It was done so well though, they both made each other better people. I like to think after a few years away they find each other again.
The breakup was done so well! Heartbreaking but beautiful. This show honestly does breakups so well, because Alexis' breakup with Mutt to me was perfection. I have to disagree about Ray...I think I see him the way you see Bob. 🤣He's ridiculous but I smile every time he's on screen.
I believe this is the episode that Annie Murphy submitted that got her the Emmy. The episode itself was also nominated for best writing of a comedy but lost to the series finale
While im sad ted and alexis break up i also love this episode because it shows alexis's growth. 1st episode alexis would never hesitate to off with a guy and leave her business and family behind, but you could tell how much she has grown into her own person here.
My thought process is Schitt's Creek is so isolated and rural and small that rent would be insanely cheap. Moira would have some cash from The Crows being picked up by netflix, the Motel is doing well, maybe well enough for johnny to have a wage. Feels like its more achievable than the show is saying. But it would be a bit of a change of tone, so its a better choice for them to stay at the Motel
