Tour: www.fuessen.de...

Tour: www.fuessen.de...
Walk in the footsteps of the Bavarian kings from castle to castle. From the viewpoint Calvarienberg you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Füssen, the foothills of the Alps and the royal castles Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein in front of imposing mountain scenery, panoramas to melt away.
Waypoints: Lechfall Füssen, Schwansee, viewpoint Kalvarienberg, view to Forggensee, castle Neuschwanstein, Marienbrücke, castle Hohenschwangau, Alpsee, Alpenrosenweg, back to Lechfall.
All cross-connections and hiking paths off the tourist road up to the royal castle were closed, unfortunately one could not escape the mass tourism on the way up to the castle and was led again and again on the main path. Except for the crowds of tourists around the castles it was a very nice, quiet and easy hiking tour in the low season of this year. I shortened the tour to 10 km and did not walk through Füssen as described in the description, but started the tour directly at Lechfall Füssen and finished it there again. Unfortunately I got into a thunderstorm on the last kilometre of the Alpine Rose Trail. Nevertheless, I can highly recommend the tour, only understandably at the castles are many tourists on the way. Otherwise I could enjoy a lot of peace and quiet on the paths through the woods and around the lakes and on the Alpenrosenweg I was completely alone and did not meet any other hikers.
