Die Walküre war die letzte Oper Richard Wagners, die in der verlängerten Festspielzeit 2018 im Festspielhaus in Bayreuth auf dem Grünen Hügel gegeben wurde. Die Künstlerinnen und Künstler wurden mit Applaus bedacht. Beim Dirigenten Plácido Domingo gab es ein paar Buh-Rufe.

I heard nothing but applause for all in this clip. And I heard loud Bravos and saw cameras flashing specifically for the Great Domingo. Fools who boo the Great Domingo criticize out of ignorance. They don't like that he conducts for the singers first and they resent it. He's a genius musician and he knows what he's doing, so they need to smarten up. Mil gracias.

....well yes - there were Bravos @ 6.40 but also boos for Placido Domingo - not beeing an expert on Wagner or Bayreuth, all I can say is - I'd rate their boos as A minus or B plus - the Wagnerians are waiting for many decades now for a perfect Tristan & Isolde recording - this isn't a perfect one either... on Domingos part - to their mind / ear the sung German had silghtly to harsh pronounciation of consonants - Those "Foolse who booo" obviously have a better ear than yourse for such a small detail?

Bayreuth2018 J'étais à la première de la Walkyrie : chanteurs somptueux (une Fricka de légende !), mais Placido Domingo n'a pas pu maîtriser la fosse et l'acoustique de Bayreuth, beaucoup trop de décalages entre la fosse et les chanteurs qui ont fini par s'écouter les uns et les autres. La chevauchée était...molle. Mais très belle soirée et deux ou trois bouhs et surtout des applaudissements polis quand tous les protagonistes ont fait "la corde", avec Domingo au bout. 50 degrés dans la salle. Le lendemain, Bychkov et un Parsifal somptueux. Il s'est présenté seul devant le rideau et la salle s'est levée. Deux fois, mais la chaleur...2018 Bayreuth 37 degrés !

Olivier Fallet C'est exact. La chaleur était énorme, mais tous ceux qui aiment Wagner aiment la souffrance.
